The storyline is really messy, it had so many plot holes. Most of the acting was terrible. Save yourself an hour and a half, and find a better movie.

First of all, I feel I should mention that I have no problem with any ethnic group telling their own stories - in fact, I encourage diversity in movies, and the predominantly African American cast of this movie gave it some instant novelty. Also, I feel that I understand that certain ethnic groups often find it hard to get the money and resources to tell their stories properly. By my feelings do not excuse the fact that the movie "Fanatic" is pretty terrible filmmaking. Reports say that the budget was only $1.2 million, but it looks even cheaper than that, with most scenes looking like they were filmed in basements, back alleys, empty warehouses, and obvious soundstages. Believe me, there are a lot of other signs of the low budget throughout. It's possible the movie might still have been saved with enough care put in other areas, but it doesn't look like enough effort was made. The cast shows some talent, trying hard with what they are given, but the direction often holds them back from having enough impact. Worst of all, their characters are often given terrible dialogue to recite, and often have their characters making decisions nobody with a lick of sense would make. Speaking of the writing, the plot twists near the end are ludicrous. If you are wondering, the shabby script often gets close to making the movie so-bad-it's-good, but not close enough. Hopefully the actors' next projects will be better... and better future projects for anyone else involved in making this movie, for that matter.

Unlike the other viewers I am not as harsh in my rating. Every movie can't afford Denzel, Cruise, and Streep. This is not Cinema quality, however, for a low budget feature, it's not that bad. The acting is "ok" and they are giving best effort. I would say this is at least equal to a Tyler Perry feature. No academy awards, but the lead actresses, besides being great "eye candy", Denyce and Michelle are trying hard to be real and believable. You can consider this to be a very low budget version of "Misery" and "Fatal Attraction" so there are no surprises in the plot. I blame the scenery and film quality as the biggest distractions, but the producers had to make do with the money they had at the time. Overall, not a waste of time, more campy than dramatic and something to have fun with a few friends when nothing else to do late at night. I can't wait for the sequel.

Plot holes wider than the Amazon forest fires. They said my review is too short to submit, so I guess I have to spend more time writing about this horribly written, acted, and directed dumpster fire of a "film". Thanks Netflix, this is your worst production to date.

Whomever wrote this script should definitely be fined for putting us through such a horrible movie. It was not only horribly scripted, they had to hire some of the worst actors imaginable. Wow I 100% agree with prior reviewer...trash...trash...trash!!!!! Save yourself the time and disappointment.

This movie was so bad that I actually had to take the time out of my life to review how horrible this movie is. Ending was atrocious, acting was terrible.

What a trash film. I couldn't even finish that film.

1st of all this movie is so terrible I literally howled with laughter from beginning to end. The acting is so incredibly embarrassing I actually had to turn off the movie So I lied earlier I didn't watch it from beginning to end. Just until I ended it because this movie is terrible. Don't watch this unless your not sober. Goodnight.

Netflix: WHY??? Horrible writing, horrible acting. Darius McCrary, a former child television star, gives a total ham-job of a performance-NOT GOOD. The TRUE VETERAN ACTOR Miguel A. Núñez(total respect for him) was smart enough to just have a three minute cameo(must've been doing a favor). Shawn Merriman(former NFL player) gets a pass since he seems to be launching an acting career. Sticky Fingaz also makes a quick cameo and gets out of this mess fast-he's also better than this film. And I won't even comment on anyone else.

DO NOT WATCH THIS TRASH.

The main woman in this did a very good job but for the man rapper who it's based on I felt like he was too stiff in some scenes but still pretty good. I would definitely recommend this to friends :)

Reading the description of the movie alone, I knew this movie would have melodramatic acting, plot holes, and other makings of a bad movie. I didn't go into this movie expecting Oscar-worthy performances. I expected to turn my brain off and laugh.

I kept waiting for this movie to get better. However, I feel as though I have lost a few brain cells as it went on. Save yourself. Worst acting, story plot, ending, and etc.

Bad acting. Bad directing. Bad script. Plot holes. Not realistic. The only good thing about this movie is the credits, which I didn't get a chance to see. I gave it 45 minutes and I'm mad for doing that to myself.

Please don't watch. You cannot get this 1 hours and 40 minutes back. This film is horrid but the acting was pretty good.

As the other reviewers have pointed out, this is a terrible, low-quality film with poor acting. However, the cast is almost completely African American and it's nice to see some diversity in the movie offerings that are available. For that reason, I bumped my rating up to a two.

One of the worst films I have seen. Boring, the storyline idea is half decent but executed extremely poorly. The acting was forced and very unnatural. Finally, the race and age demographics in this film is one dimensional. If it was the opposite way around it would have a huge amount of critics. Disappointing and leaves a bad taste.

This film has a derivative plot, awfully written script, characters that make you think humanity has generally devolved beyond homo erectus levels, and the directional qualities of a blind man with a blindfold on.

Avoid unless you want a further reason to loathe rappers, certain segments of the human race or the species in general.

I rarely rate a movie low unless I really really disliked it. I'm not picky. But this It was very poorly made all around: bad acting, bad plot. Just bad period. I did finish watching it and the ending was just awful. I gave it a chance. Huge let down.

The most perplexing thing though is how such a relentlessly low budget movie got to be shot so well, because everything else about it is unremittingly awful, especially the music, which is as low rent as it gets: one eighties-sounding synthesizer. Dreadful.

This was not a "B"movie it was a "Z" movie, Stevie Wonder could teach DRIVING better than any of these characters can ACT!!! Poor Darius McCrary has hit ROCK BOTTOM!! The end hinted at a sequel!! NOOOOOO!😱😱
