- The psychodrama (never broadcasted but published with an interview) of the series Da Storia Nasce Storia (1991) where the analyst Aldo Carotenuto, author of the best seller "Diario di una segreta simmetria" (Ubaldini, Rome, Italy, 1980) plays three roles: Freud Jung and Sabine Spielrein. In 1998 the italian television Rai will invite Rosati to write A Secret Simmetry (1997), a script for a movie for Nelo Risi direction.—Francesco Marzano
- The special feature from [title/tt9195096] (Rai 3) by Ottavio Rosati that originated the script [title/tt9272798] produced by Rai Cinema. This psychoplay is a new format ("libro-dramma") where Carotenuto plays the characters of his book: Sabine Spielrein, Jung and Freud. Italian television edits it and sell home video rights of the play to a publishing house but don't broadcast it considering it too difficult for the TV audience. Three years later Rai 2 commissioned to Rosati the script for [title/tt9272798] for a movie directed by Nelo Risi author of [title/tt0062889]. This script is appreciated, translated in english and purchased but the new Rai President stops the production ("too difficult for TV audience"). Some years later Roberto Faenza and David Cronemberg made two popular films from Carotenuto's book. In [title/tt9195096], for the first time in the history of television, the meaning of a story, a dream and a facial expression will find a virtually infinite number of witnesses and interpreters: theatrical and analytical. A format that seeks the meaning and dignity of a story thanks to a television shot aimed at a deep analysis of the dynamics thanks to psychodrama, the group meeting in which the participants meet to express themselves, as well as in words, through action, body and images. Fifty years after the theoretical formulation of Psichocinema by Jacob Levi Moreno this new format realized by Ottavio Rosati completes Le Psychodrame (1956) (1956) the experiment directed in 1956 in Paris by Roberto Rossellini for RTF, the France television. An experiment never broacasted that in 2018 was discovered in the archives of Anne Schutzenberger and has been published in a DVD by Istituto Luce Cinecittà in 2019. The book about the series, published by Rai Eri contains the transcription and commentary of Carotenuto's psicoplay and allows the reader to retrace them together with their director and analyze them. In his comment Rosati presents the techniques used for the staging by subject, explores the dynamics of the group and the conflicts between the ethics of spontaneity and the conventions of a television production. Finally it reveals the emotions of a psychoplay dicetor, his blind spots, the how and the why of missed acts, mistakes and resentments. As the reviews to the program show (collected in a section of the site) we are faced with a new media format: a series of surprise stories that have thrilled the public like a novel, a film or a comedy.
