GRACE STONE, an introverted journalist, (early 20s), comes from a wealthy, very successful family and fails to meet their high expectations. JOSH JOHNSON, an outgoing waiter, (early 30s), struggles financially and deals with an alcoholic father and his fiancée's terminal illness. DR. JOSEPH DAEDALUS, a neurologist, (mid 50s), has dedicated his career to developing a procedure to transplant talents and personality traits from one person to another. He is empathetic, yet he hides a sinister family secret. At the restaurant where Josh works, Dr. Daedalus frequently enjoys his after- work whiskey. When he notices Josh's extroverted personality and learns about his lacking finances and sick fiancée, he offers to treat her, free of charge. In exchange, Josh would have to participate in his talent transplant experiment. An offer Josh blindly accepts. At the same time, Grace looks for a story to prove herself as a journalist after a blow-out argument with her overbearing mother. She reads about Dr. Daedalus and sets out to meet him for an interview. He notices that Grace would be the perfect recipient of Josh's extroverted talent and convinces her to also partake in the experiment. Grace jumps at the chance -- it could be what she needs to gain the approval she craves. The experiment goes smoothly and Grace can finally advance her career and gain her family's acceptance that she so desires. Josh's fiancée is saved, but the loss of his social talent drives his life into a dark place.
