At the beginning of the segment "By the Silver Water of Lake Champlain", the radio host is voiced by Adrienne Barbeau who played a radio host in original version of The Fog (1980). The character also distinctly mentions a fog coming in to reference the aforementioned film. Barbeau also starred in the movie version of this TV series and also the first episode of this season, "Gray Matter".
In the segment 'By the Silver Water of Lake Champlain', the sounds that Champy makes are the same sounds the the thing makes when it is set on fire in 'John Carpenter's The Thing' (1982).
In "Skincrawlers", there is a statue of Pazuzu from The Exorcist (1973) in the background of the doctor's office.
In the first segment, Skincrawlers, a reporter is doing an interview from Horlicks Observatory. In the original Creepshow film, Horlicks University is where "The Crate" was delivered.
In the second segment, Joseph's paper boat, the "S.S. Champy" is a nod to Stephen King's IT, in which a character has a similar paper boat, the "S.S. Georgie", which leads to a pivotal moment in the book/movie adaptations. This segment was written by King's son, Joe Hill.
