Summon that sun girl

Another well made episode of shadow and bone. The cinematography and costuming are stunning and the storyline is developing nicely. Alina's character is continuing to evolve and I'm here for it, she has the potential to be badass.

Sun summon another season

Warning: Spoilers
What a tremendous episode. My favorite one. The exceptional talent and beautiful scenery is what I would expect and more in such a well made show.

Freddy Karter absolutely embodies the character of Kaz and Ben Barnes is mysterious yet very dark.

James Bryhan character , the archivist intrigued me. For such a small screen time, he was memorable with a subtle ,magnetic performance. It's a shame we didn't see more of his character develop considering it was his archives that had been broken in, but no doubt, im sure we will see him again , hopefully next season, if there is one.

The series reminded me of harry Potter, dare i say ,with more of a grown up feel toward it.

Finally , i finish by saying that Shadow and bone has a place in my heart and i hope to see this amazing series next year.

Shadow shines bright

My favorite episode out of the season. The interactions between the actors ,especially the plot to break into the little palace was wonderfully written and performed.

This episode didn't slack in anyway and the director(Dan Liu) from Walking Dead showed his flair for telling and teasing us with a story full of interesting characters including my favorite, The Archivist played by British actor James Jaysen Bryhan. I know his character wasn't in any of the books, but i thought there was something just beneath the surface of his character, something mystical and it's a shame we never got to see more of him in the episode, considering the crows were breaking in! I hope at some point, the powers that be bring him back with a decent storyline.

Shadow and Bone S1E4: A Mesmerizing Journey of Self-Discovery, Ambitious Quests, and Unveiling Mysteries
Vaynrat22 November 2023
"Shadow and Bone" Season 1, Episode 4: An exceptional 10/10 installment that weaves a tapestry of personal growth, powerful revelations, and high-stakes missions. Alina's horseback ride with Kirigan, now Aleksander, peels back layers, exposing vulnerability and shared history. As Baghra pushes Alina to prioritize herself, a newfound determination emerges, showcasing a significant turning point in her journey. The depth of Kirigan's connection and Alina's realization of her pivotal role heighten the stakes.

Simultaneously, Mal's daring quest for Morozova's Stag unfolds with riveting intensity. The Fjerdan ambush adds a layer of danger, setting the stage for Mal's resilient spirit and his vow to reunite with Alina. The Crows' intricate heist to infiltrate the Little Palace is a masterclass in suspense, blending scheming brilliance with unexpected camaraderie.

The Winter Fete performance promises a convergence of characters, adding a layer of anticipation to the unfolding narrative. Nina's journey through stormy seas intensifies the overall sense of foreboding. Fedyor's search for Nina hints at a deeper connection, leaving viewers eager for more.

Episode 4 is a triumph of storytelling, character development, and plot intricacies, seamlessly intertwining the threads of the Grishaverse. With each revelation, "Shadow and Bone" solidifies its status as a must-watch fantasy series.

May the sun summoner bless you

This episode is quite magnificent.

A well made, cinematic and brilliant acting, especially by James Bryhan as the Archivist and his interaction with Freddy Karter.

I would love to see what happens next with the Archivist, considering his archives had been broken into and if , like many of the other characters, had something special about him.

Overall, a brilliant script, fantastic acting and a series that most certainly deserves all the awards heading its way..

Great episode

Great show and marvelous cast. The storyline was good , except for the robbery. What happened to the archivist? Will he return? I hope so. I'd like to see how he felt about his archives being robbed and what he would do about it.

Slower Episode, He's Back
jimhaney-1222430 April 2021
Warning: Spoilers
Bit of a slower episode this one, and was a poorer in quality tbh. There is a heist that is in fact fun and not too serious. That's about it, the heist, stag hunt, flirty eyes with General Shadow. They could have given some answers among all this.

Is there a war between people going on? (with who?) How big is the country? If they are so needing soldiers (why, and for what) how can they just send randos off to search for magic deer.

Poor Directing: This kinda breaks a scenes: BF and Co. Are trudging slowly in a blizzard, one complains he thinks he lost a toe. Cover up your damn ears then, put your hoods on, bundle up. Fight scene, gun doesn't shoot, he drops it and runs up barehanded? (Use it as a club, maybe pull that knife out that you do later...)

Poor Acting / Writing: Big Ear-Dirty Face-Whiney Boy is back! I don't know if its his internal dialogue or just the way he's portrayed, but man I hate the boyfriend. Ever notice how the other soldiers are like 3x cleaner than he is? Man got his friends killed fake-chasing after a woman who is frankly better off without him. Actor mumbles his lines wike wis. "Itsda wun thwiing I can still give you" FFS man, everyone else is coherent. Besides the fact they look nothing alike, the child version of this character is acted out much better.

Our Saint Has Arrived

Alina continues her training.

Malyen takes a special assignment that he believes will get him closer to reuniting with Alina.

Kaz continues his plan to commit the master heist.

Alina finally does what her 'teacher' wants and is ready to begin 'the work'.

Oh dear did Alina get a LETTER from Mal??? Never underestimate the POWER of the POSTAL SERVICE, I tell you what.

5/10.
