Solid episode in terms of storyline progression and acting. Loving Nina's side storyline, it's surprisingly heartwarming.

Shadow and Bone S1E6: A Dance of Betrayals, Blinding Light, and Unlikely Alliances
Vaynrat22 November 2023
"Shadow and Bone" Season 1, Episode 6, earns a stellar 10/10 for its breathtaking dance of betrayals, blinding lights, and the birth of unexpected alliances. Arken's capture and tragic end after the failed kidnapping attempt intensify the stakes, showcasing the ruthless depths of Kirigan's power.

Alina's escape from the Crows becomes a mesmerizing display of her Sun Summoner abilities, blinding Kaz and Jesper, while Inej, captivated, lets her go. The narrative brilliantly explores the perception of Alina as a living Saint, adding a layer of complexity to her character.

Recognized as Shu by townsfolk, Alina's chase into the forest becomes a poignant reunion with Mal. Their catch-up and Alina's realization about the Stag set the stage for an epic northern journey, marking a turning point in the series.

Meanwhile, the stormy seas force Nina into an unlikely partnership with Matthias, fostering a bond that defies expectations. The sinking drüskelle ship becomes a crucible for survival, setting the foundation for their intriguing dynamic.

Episode 6 is a symphony of plot twists, character development, and unexpected bonds, leaving viewers eagerly anticipating the next chapters in the Grishaverse.

Why this episode is rated way too low?
JATIN-19894 May 2021
Warning: Spoilers
Out of all episodes, this episode was my favourite episode of this entire season, finally the Darkling started to show his Evil Side, His standoff against Kaz *Chef kiss*, Alina met the trio for the first time, Mal & Alina reunion was so sweet, finally Inej got some fighting scenes what a badass, the whole plot was so tense yet smooth at the time.

Cheap story telling, if any
perideo29 April 2021
Too much fuzz for nothing. The screenplay is poor, the acting mediocre and so many names and places which both make it too hard to follow what is actually going on. Sadly the direction has nothing to add. Another netflix-wannabe-a-success show with a story without consistency and clarity for its audience. Let's drop more money in the production, add some CGI (there isn't much) and everyone will be happy. Well that's not how a show is made. This show is tops 6.5 stars worth. Seeing 8.5 already, makes me want to underrate it. I am so disappointed because I watched so many episodes and I was hoping it would get better. But it doesn't.

He Threw A Book At Me.

Bleh. Two attempts at writing this review and lost it twice because IMDB has no draft save. So annoying.

Okay, General Fancypants is awesome.

-1 Star for characters getting nude together with no nudity shown

Sunshine Girl and Whipping Boy reunited and find out the letters they'd sent each other were not being delivered.

Kas and team steal a coach. Sunshine and Whipping boy explore the wilderness. FancyPants deduces that Sunshine Girl is going after the magic Stag.

All in All a boring episode with 1 big flaw. 4/10.
