Beautifully executed finale
hemsleystewart18 August 2019
The finale didn't disappoint. No real attempt to artificially end on a cliffhanger. Just wonderful storytelling that consistently supports the great job that went into the previous 9 episodes.

Harriet Dyer continues to do a great job of portraying her character as do the others but she has to do the lion's share of the heavy lifting because she is the focus of the series. But that is not to undersell the contributions of her foster father, his husband, his partner, and the season's villain Sean Bolger.

I love the storytelling if you haven't got that from me before. All the main characters are beautifully drawn and get well rounded treatment. The recurring characters too don't get shortchanged in their limited appearances except for maybe Anne Marie Johnson, the captain of the precinct, but that is not a criticism. There are only so many characters you can attempt to fully realize.

It frustrates me that this kind of artful series doesn't get a lot more support. It's not treacly sweet, and it doesn't go out of its way to try and shock. Just perfect storytelling and beautifully balanced acting.

Here's hoping it gets a second season.

8 for the episode, 10 for the cliffhanger

Warning: Spoilers
Mixed feelings about the show. A lot of the episodes seem light on plot and the inevitable good guy wins in the end, ending isn't hard to predict. The show is intermixed with creepy visions and a small puzzle as to what the visions mean, but the puzzles are less well presented than a similar show, Medium, where you were left to reason out what the dream or vision actually meant through most of the show.

This was a pretty standard episode with what might have been a gripping conclusion except it was so predictable and quite similar to an episode in Medium that it didn't really have much effect.

The near death of a friend was a nice twist, but ultimately, just a few minutes and the mention of Claire was compelling and left us with questions. A rare moment of carrying a strong theme across episodes. So, overall this was an ordinary episode with an ordinary conclusion but some nice surprises, perhaps shedding some hope on how this show might improve, or, perhaps, just teaser moments that won't carry through.

The final cliffhanger though, the face of the man who threatened her. A new enemy? The devil, perhaps? I want this show to succeed and they left us with a nice cliffhanger, even if we don't know who the new bad spirit is, but there's a chance that season two could be more interesting. Some nice drops in the finale of season one.

It's probably 60/40 that this show gets cancelled. The ratings aren't good, but on the plus side, the ratings haven't dropped. There's a chance. I hope it's renewed. It's one of the few shows I always watch and I'll turn in for season two for certain.

Underwhelming finale.

Warning: Spoilers
The conclusion of Ed Roven was a little underwhelming. I think the writers should expand on the supernatural aspect a lot more in the second season if there will be one and maybe use that as a way to bring him back because the way he was defeated wasn't appropriate enough for a villain like him.

Overall, I think there were a few moments that were underwhelming for a finale and an extremely underwhelming series finale if the show gets canceled.

It is underrated! Please don't cancel it!
ProducersGuide17 August 2019
The overall rate is 6.9/10, which makes it very underrated and it really deserves more .. especially, after this finale.

I hope they won't make the mistake that we are afraid of, which is canceling it because of low rates and small and yet to grow fan base

If my hopes come true and it gets the approval for a 2nd season, please, put more focus on the main character (Cassie) while the actress is really doing a good job in it, less focus should be made on the detectives and other matters

AGAIN, PLEASE GO AHEAD WITH ANOTHER SEASON !

UPDATE : IT LOOKS LIKE THEY DID IT AND REALLY CANCELLED IT! VERY BIG MISTAKE .. AND VERY BIG DISAPPOINTMENT ..

Chilling Episode

This episode was really well done! You can see the series becoming more complex which is great! I was pleasantly surprised that they dealt with the Ed story line so quickly and it didn't drag out. The ending actually sent shivers down my spine. Looking forward to the next episode.

Fantastic season finale
gailmoir21 August 2019
Don't cancel this series. It's sooo good. Like every good tv series it can take a season to get the characters and stories grounded. This episode was fantastic. Well deserved a 10.
