This 'van' action sequence was captured in a single-shot. The director of photography had to follow the action from inside a moving car as it traversed dark alleys, then follow the actors as they ran out.
The end credit song is a famous Kashmiri folk song, "Harmukh Bartal". It's a subtle reference to Kareem's death.
The sequence was re-shot after the monsoons ended. To maintain continuity, a water tanker was called to water-down the streets.
While shooting this scene, the mini-van lost traction due to the slick road caused by recent rain. The shoot had to be stopped and the scene was re-shot two months later.
A majority of the actors portraying the Kashmiri characters are Kashmiris by birth. This was done to maintain authenticity in look and language. Abrar Qazi, who plays 'Kareem,' is also a Kashmiri.
