His Name Was Oliver Queen
ThomasDrufke29 January 2020
From the very beginning, Oliver Queen & the show itself has always been about legacy. Whether its direct tie-ins to villains like Prometheus & Oliver's past, the mark he leaves on Star City, or his very descendants and followers carrying on his mission in the future, it's always been about legacy. So when this episode presents *several* massive wide shots with nearly the entire cast from all seasons fighting to keep Oliver's memory alive physically (saving William from kidnappers) or mentally (at the memorial & funeral) it sent chills up my spine.

I've said for a long time now that seasons 1-5 will always hold a special place in my heart & ultimately be the *ending* of the show as I accept it. There are good things in season 6 & 7 but they are difficult to find. However, season 8 (while with a few faults here and there) managed to wrap up Ollie's arc in the best possible way, and give us closure with so many other characters and storylines as well.

Dig finally did the Salmon Ladder! They all drank in the bunker and said Prochnost in honor of Oliver. We got to have one more flashback episode & an incredibly well executed fight to say the least (and they were 2012 flashbacks!). They brought back Tommy, Moira, and Lance among others, 3 of the most devastating deaths the show ever had (and to me, they did it without removing the impact those deaths had). And finally, Diggle gave Oliver's Eulogy which could not have been more spot on-perfect & we got to see the result of 2040 Felicity going with The Monitor to see Ollie, only fitting it was at a version of Queen Consolidated.

Arrow isn't the best show of all time, I don't think many would say that. But it will go down as one of the most important shows of all time. I legitimately mean that. This show transcended the CW formula and became much more than a teen angst drama. This show birthed the very existence of the modern day superhero show. You would not have Daredevil & all the Netflix shows existing when they did without Arrow. I'm not even sure Kevin Fiege would be approving Disney+ shows right now without Arrow being successful. And of course, the Arrowverse & every other successor show on the network would not exist with Stephen Amell leading the way in Star City.

I will never forget this show. Oliver Queen, you have NOT failed this city.

Great way to say goodbye
zacattack3829 January 2020
This episode...this show...wow it's been part of my life since 2013 and today I had to say goodbye to it. And honestly the writers and producers couldn't have done a better job ending the show that started what we call the Arrowverse. This show changed my life in a way. Believe it or not I was in a dark place while this show was airing, especially in seasons 5 and 6. Arrow (and Flash) gave me hope. Gave me a reason to believe in something. Stephan Amell and the rest of the cast and crew, thank you for the best 74 months of my life.

WOW WHAT AN ENDING
james-hockey9829 January 2020
Warning: Spoilers
This has to be the best series finale for a show I ever saw. It broke my heart and made me cry a lot which I never do unless I'm at a funeral so that's really saying something. This show has been my favourite show since season 1 and to see it end like this is just really really hard for me but man to see how everyone's life turns out is amazing. John finally gets a green lantern ring, earth 1 tommy is alive and was married to earth 1 laurel before her death, Moira is alive now along with emiko while thea and Roy finally get engaged. Quentin is now alive as well so Oliver's sacrifice really did bring everyone back and give everyone a happy future they all deserved. Seeing Barry Kara and Sara at the funeral was a nice unexpected treat at well I always love seeing them all together although it is for the last time .

"He had to become something else. I always thought that meant to become The Green Arrow but... Today i realised that meant becoming a better man"

Warning: Spoilers
Wow, what a ride. Thanks Arrow!

This is an emotional episode. And a great conclusion to this incredible series! Everyone acting was on point and it was beautiful to see everyone (even characters that have been gone for awhile). It was good and beautiful soundtrack all over the episode.

When Quentin did his speech i couldn't stop tearing up for the rest of the episode. For not mention Diggle's speech. Like damn, that hits the feels.

Also it was a great plot involving William. (Poor him. He gets kidnapped a second time, first time being of Adrian). Mia does a wonderful job as The Green Arrow. All the Oliver scenes was beyond fantastic! All the fight scenes was excellent. Diggle as Green Lantern, yaaay! I'm so happy for it. I couldn't ask for a better ending for all of the characters! It's a great possibility that we see them again in the Arrowverse! And ofc the new series Green Arrow and the Canaries. Thanks Oliver and Stephen! You'll be missed.

This one was a great finale, Season 8 was amazing, the series as a whole is outstanding and ARROW THANK YOU!!! 10/10 of course!

The Final Bow... Thank you.
EddyTheMartian00729 January 2020
Warning: Spoilers
Arrow has gone through many highs and lows. I'm glad this final season, and this finale was a high!

There isn't much to say. I think we all got what we wanted. The characters we've grown to love got the closure they deserved. It was nice to have all these returning characters. If I'm being honest I don't like that they revived characters for the finale, it brings up a lot of questions and seems forced, but the cameos and scenes that came from them mostly make up for that. That would really be my only problem with the episode. It was just really nice to see Moira and Tommy back and alive. I'm happy Roy and Thea got a happy ending. It's been a long time coming. We got to see characters like Ragman, Talia, Nyssa, Anatoly, and more return which is always nice. The cameos from other Arrowverse characters were good, but honestly I feel like they could've gotten a few more characters. The funeral scene was great. Quinten Lance's speech was great, and then Diggle finishing off the episode was amazing. The episode was pretty well paced for being so weirdly structured. Honestly the episode is a mess, but it worked for me. Alone the finale would've been good, but there were a lot of great surprises that made it great.

DIGGLE GREEN LANTERN TEASE! That was a great moment, I'm glad that happened.

That flashback fight scene. WOW... that was incredible. The best fight scene on Arrow. Seriously.

Though the ending was a little bit cheesy, but It worked. Only thing is, I'm not sure of the timeline works out?

I can't believe this show is finally over. I'm honestly getting a little misty eyed. I grew up with this show. It's had it's great seasons, and it's not so good seasons... and season 4... which I won't talk about. Every season I enjoyed (except season 4...) and I can honestly say this was my favorite show despite not being good overall. I would say it's good, but very flawed.

This finale was everything I was hoping it would be. I wasn't expecting a perfect finale, but we got closure to our characters, great cameos, the best fight scene on the show, and a green lantern tease! Which makes for a pretty great finale in my opinion. I don't know what else to say, I was just really happy with this finale.

I just want to say Thank you to everyone who works on Arrow. Thank you.

Thank you arrow, for everything.
emailjordan29 January 2020
I started watching Arrow when I was 10 years old, I'm now turning 18 later this year and I gotta say spending my teenage years watching this show has been truly remarkable. Sure it's had it's ups and downs (season 4), but in the end this show got me through so much. I'm really going to miss having these characters in my life. As for the episode, it's extremely emotional and I spent the whole second half in tears, everyone has their stories wrapped up in a satisfying way which ultimately sets them up for future roles thanks to a couple surprises 😉. Thank you to everyone who worked on this show over the last 8 years, Thankyou for all the lessons, surprises, and for spawning an entire dc universe! I'll hold this series close to my heart forever.

You saved this city.
GomezAddams66629 January 2020
Warning: Spoilers
Series finales can usually be disappointing, specially because they might not live up to what people expect or want for their beloved characters. This was not the case here, the finale is astounding.

This series finale had an uphill battle because the titular character is dead when the episode begins, as he sacrificed himself in Crisis, so it cleverly opens documentary style showing us how Prime-Earth has changed a few events that in a way became a reward for the Multiverse's Greatest Hero and his sacrifice, such as his mother being alive.

Then the story turns to a member of Oliver's family being kidnapped by a perpetrator that Ollie should have just killed a few years back, letting the audience know that some evil doers cannot be redeemed, that some of these monsters have simply failed this city and needed to be put down. But this new threat brings the entire Arrow Team back to help.

But the crescendo of the episode is the funeral where we can see that Tommy Merlyn is also alive, and most of the people who lived Oliver have come to say a final goodbye, including Sarah, Kara, Barry, and Mia.

The finale ends with a teaser that no one can be surprised of at this point, But the pièce de résistance for me was going back to the Season Seven Finale and seeing that Felicity has decided to join Oliver in the afterlife, where they both can live happily forever and the Greatest Hero has gotten the greatest reward, peace.

Rating this episode seems unfair, it was juts too good, but of course I will rate it a 10/10.

Rest in peace, Oliver Queen: You saved this city.

AND NOW MY WATCH HAS ENDED!!!! GOODBYE OLIVER QUEEN, YOU'D NEVER BE FORGOTTEN!!
debadityadasgupta29 January 2020
Warning: Spoilers
Almost every person who died in the course of 8 years is alive. Its amazing to see everyone but oliver queen. The heart to heart conversations between the characters, roy and thea finally getting together, Felicity meeting the adult Mia and everything was just so emotional and amazing. The entire team arrow getting disbanded and going their separate ways was really heartbreaking. Diggle's speech in the end and the climax was really unexpected. Lets see what arrowverse has in store for John. But I still cant believe its the end of what started it all and i would never be able to see the really badass opening credits of the show ever again. Would really miss this show.

What happened to the adult William Clayton?
rsbrux28 June 2022
Warning: Spoilers
At the end of the previous episode, the adult William Clayton is abducted in adult Mia's presence. Unlike all of those killed in previous episodes, he never reappears, even though this abduction is a key motivator in the reunion of heroes in the first part of this episode. Instead, the adult MIa winds up resucing the child William Clayton, who is coincidentally abducted shortly after the team is wondering how to find the adult William Clayton. I have some sympathy for all the 10* reviews here, and it isn't the first plot hole in the series, but to end the series with such a gaping plot hole is unworthy.

Well that was underwhelming
terrylarosa30 January 2020
Warning: Spoilers
Gets two stars for the exemplary fight scene. Other than that this was pretty bland. Hokey and now literally everyone that was dead is alive except for Queen. I have to wonder about the mentality of people stating this is the best finale they've ever seen. What a crock. Hoping that the spinoff with ridiculous 90 pound Mia does not come to fruition. Regardless I won't be watching.

A remarkable show!
tzortzos_aristotle29 January 2020
As a fan since day one, I'd like to say that this show was one of the greatest tv series I've ever seen. It's amazing how Stephen Amell portrays the spoiled playboy at first, then the hero, the father and later on the legend. His acting is something else... I'm so sad that the show ended, but it's better that it ended while it was still in its prime. I've loved the show and everything in it! Congratulations to every person that worked to pull this through... You have not failed this city, or should I say: "YOU HAVE SAVED THIS CITY!!!"

Start to finish- a great show
metdvls-129 January 2020
Warning: Spoilers
I remember rushing home from work to watch the premier of Arrow. The cavalcade of heroes, villain and stars over eight terrific seasons came to a wonderful climax with this finale. If only all shows can bow out as gracefully.

I hope we get to see more of Mia, Rene, Laurel, Dinah and the newly minted (and well overdue) Green Lantern - John Diggle in more stories to come. But Oliver and Felicity Queen's journey is over.

Goodbye.

Arrow, Thank You......
ninjaboyballer29 January 2020
Warning: Spoilers
Arrow's ending could've not been more perfect. All the returning characters were all a warm welcome in a way to close out the series. The emotional scenes are handled really well and everything pretty much wraps up. My only complaint about this episode might be the William plot but it was sort of integral to the story so I'm willing to let it slide. The acting was all really solid and the performances really sold me. I'm really happy with where all the characters ended up and that Green Lantern thing with Diggle holy crap. I hope that they explore that in the future. All the callbacks were also just spectacular. The ending scene is also just perfect and I felt really satisfied by it. And now Arrow is over. And I want to thank everyone involved in this show including the cast, crew, showrunners, etc. I want to thank them for starting a universe that I didn't even think was possible on TV. It brought together countless hero's that inspire others and hero's that will carry the universe forward into the future. But now its time to say goodbye to the hero that started it all. Most of all, thank you Stephen Amell for being that hero to start the Arrowverse. So goodbye Arrow, and thank you for everything.

Final rating: 10/10

A meaning full eight year journey
hockleymirickeenan20 July 2021
So this show started when I was in year 4 of school and to was the first ever live action show I had watched that I considered the first adult show I watched so when the news came out in 2019 I would be ending in 2020 I hit me extremely hard that day due to the fact the 2020 was my last year of high school made me sad to see it end due to the fact I grew up watching this show but.

When the final episode aired I was crying right off the bat but when those end credits rolled after getting over the tears I started laughing because this had helped me grow as an adult and a person and Stephen Amell had easily become one of my favourite actors along with the rest of the cast

So to wrap up this emotional review.

Arrow you will be missed you will be loved and most importantly you will be rewatched for years to come.

A beautiful and satisfying conclusion!
RahulM00729 January 2020
Warning: Spoilers
The series finale of Arrow fittingly titled "Fadeout" wraps up the series as a whole and gives Oliver Queen and Felicity Smoak the happy ending they deserve. For me, there is a level of catharsis when watching this series finale, as it brings back multiple fan favourite characters and gives every character a satisfying send-off. Seeing Moira, Tommy, Quentin and even Emiko return pulled on my heart strings immensely. Even though, Oliver made the ultimate sacrifice in episode 8, he still had a surprisingly huge role in this episode.

The series finale brought back the flashbacks and may I say how much I missed them. These flashbacks were from season 1 where Oliver was still this brooding and unremorseful vigilante who showed no mercy whatsoever. The fight choreography in this episode was incredible. James Bamford manages to surprise viewers yet again with a stellar fight sequence that felt deserving. It may be a little over-exaggerated and superflous, but it definitely knocks it out of the park. I loved how the flashbacks fades to the present day where Mia is fully suited up as the Green Arrow and tries to save William without killing. It showcased where Mia's moral compass lies and her hesitance. This was a neat a parallel to the flashbacks shown in this episode where Oliver goes on a killing spree and eventually decides to let the justice system bring John Byrne down.

It is always a pleasure seeing Colton Haynes and Willa Holland reprising their roles as Roy Harper and Thea Queen respectively. Roy proposing to Thea was quite heartfelt and definitely deserving. Roy Harper's robotic arm in this episode looked awesome and comic book accurate.

The small Green Lantern tease in the final moments of the episode was insane, but at the same time inevitable as the actor David Ramsey who portrays John Diggle promised a Green Lantern teaser of sorts. This opens up a variety of questions. Will Diggle become the Green Lantern?

I have thoroughly enjoyed all of the scenes between the characters in this episode. Diggle's eulogy was extremely poignant and made me emotional. Oliver and Diggle's relationship has evolved and changed dramatically over the course of eight seasons. It was only fitting for him to deliver the eulogy.

The final scene where the Monitor takes Felicity to the afterlife to meet Oliver was relieving and provided a sense of closure. The long awaited Oliver and Felicity reunion was heartfelt and satisfied me tremendously. It gave both of the characters their happy ending.

To conclude, the series finale of Arrow is one of a kind and a fitting end to my favourite television series of all-time. It wrapped up each character's arc perfectly, while still leaving the doors open for the possible Green Arrow and the Canaries spinoff. Arrow has changed the DCTV universe for the better. This show will always stay in my heart. Always and Forever.

I don't understand all the 10/10 reviews
aTwisted_Nathan4 March 2020
Arrow has been one of the best series I've watched in the last decade, but it hasn't all been good with some of the later seasons being very average. We watched the season finale as a family and we all agreed that it was rubbish, my friends who have watched it agree it was pretty poor at best so how come the endless 10/10 reviews? Makes you wonder...

I'm going to keep it short and sweet. This show was my favorite for most of the last 8 years.

Absolutely phenomenal end to a great show. I cried for more than half of it. Chills the entire episode. Truly, a beautiful way to end things.

Can't wait to see what's next for the arrow group!!
