- TriviaIn the scene where Drogan (TJ Kayama) is talking to Mother Abigail (Whoopi Goldberg), he is kneeling as he recalls being with Flagg (Alexander Skarsgård). In the background when Flagg's hand touches his face you can see the carpet, which has the same print as the carpet in the Overlook Hotel in The Shining (1980).
- GoofsWhen Stu (James Marsden) finds the painting lying sideways of Mother Abigail (Whoopi Goldberg), it is an 18" x 24" portrait, oriented with her head to the right. When he picks it up to show Glen (Greg Kinnear), he turns it to the right, thereby orienting the painting upside down. However, when he turns it around, it is oriented correctly but is now a 24" x 18" landscape orientation. There are two different paintings.

well, it took 3 episodes....
I tried hard to reserve judgment on this redo of the classic, oft-published stephen king novel. visions of the 90s miniseries stood out and there can't help but be comparisons. after all, "it" actually got better when remade, didn't it? and stephen king had some input this time.
after watching 3 episodes, i have to conclude i don't like it. yes, there's the constant mentioning in other reviews about the non-linear storytelling style. i have to agree that it really takes you out of the story, and that's really the best part, i always thought.
the casting doesn't work for me either. most especially, the jim carrey cover band playing harold lauder. what happened to the insecure fat guy from the book? frannie, too, should be a lot nicer than she is being portrayed. it's an interesting choice, but....
the end result is a lot like a time travel movie for me. i mean, i'll always watch it, but that doesn't mean i'm going to like it or that it's going to be good.
