Not just forgettable, but even cringeworthy

Warning: Spoilers
Here we have a 90-second short film from 2019, so really new in fact and this was directed by recent oscar winner Spike Lee and also co-written by him in what looks like a family affair given the names of the other two writers, still quite a lot for such a short film. And it is a case of too many cooks spoiling the brother because this was ridiculously weak. The plot summary here on imdb "A motorcyclist finds words written on stones in the desert. " summarizes it pretty well. A guy stops in the desert on his motobike and finds these words, disagrees and then replaces these stones with other stones that contin more positive words. To me it did feel really pretentious and cringeworthy to be honest and itg tries so hard to be significant and meaningful while bringing none of the artistic credibility to the table that would justify such an approach. Kinda shameful in my opinion. But it is not the first time at all Lee goes over the top like that in a really negative manner. I don't like him anyway because of his questionable views when it comes to society issues. But that is another subject. What disappointed me more, however, was Michael B. Jordan. I think he is a talented actor, but I have no clue why he would appear in this mess. Only to work with Lee? And honestly, there was at leastg one moment when he really hit a wrong note too acting-wise. Bummer. Finally, this is of course a commercial for Coach, but if you don't know what this is, this company I mean, then you probably wouldn't guess judging from what you saw here, so also from this perspective the film is a failure. Little hint, it is not a motobike manufacturer. All in all, this is so weak that not even big fans of Lee and/or Jordan should check it out. Big thumbs-down and I suggest with determination that you skip this one. Even for 90 seconds it is a waste of time.
