Battlefield Earth (2000)
Easily the worst movie i have ever seen!
Simply put, it (hopefully) doesn't get any worse then this. I love movies, watch at least one a day. I love horror, i love B-movies and i'm into sci-fi. But this movie is just a piece of crap.
The only good thing is that the aliens get portrayed in a pretty good way. They have their own little schemes and intrigues. Something i hope to see more of in other, better movies. Because the grip with the aliens is the only thing that is above "awful" in this movie. The story, the acting and above all the dialogue are worse then in any of Lucio Fulcis zombie movies (which i actually do love). It's just a cavalcade of clichés served in a very unapetizing way. I never thought i'd see a movie that i hate as much as i hate this one. Don't see it! Take a look at screamers antother time instead...
Alien Resurrection (1997)
Great movie, if only they'd have cut out the last 15 minutes.
I loved this movie. Nice sets, camera works and of course special effects. It's more of an action movie then a horror. But that's ok, because it's one of the best action movies i've ever seen. There's only one thing that made this movie a 7 instead of a 10, the last 15 minutes or so. I won't tell what it is that's so bad about it, let's just say the movie would have been better if they would all have died before it all happened. See it, and try to see the ending as something that's not really a part of the movie. Because without the ending it's a definite ten.
Nirvana (1997)
Great movie. The feeling and mood just got to me.
I loved the movie. It's one of those movies where the plot isn't really that important. It's the mood, the world that is shown that's the great part. The acting is ok i guess, but i'm not sure. Thing is, i have seen the movie 4 or 5 times. And every time i just get swept away by the whole setting. The world around the actors (the sets if you will) and the music (could write a lot just about that) are great. So i haven't really started watching it really critically, i just watch. And for me, that's what represents a great movie. Your'e to busy watching to think about if the special effects are good, or if there's something else not performed with technical perfection. Take a look at it, chances are you'll love it.
Bleeders (1997)
it really is BAD
One of the worst movies ever. Thing is i dont really know why. I really like horror movies. Low budget is something i dont care about. Actually this movie is better made then many others i really do like. But it just doesn't happen. The movie is so slow and boring. Even the few action sequences when Rutger Hauer is chasing the monsters are slow and boring. The ending isn't quite what i expected, so i guess that's the only good thing to say about it. Don't see it!!!
State of Dogs (1998)
Awesome filming. Sort of a surrealistic feel to it.
The movie is one of the best looking ones i'we ever seen. Some of the scenes in here take your breath away. The story is about a dog that dies and its spirit wanders to find its owner. But the story isn't very important here (at least to me it wasn't). It's sort of a picture collection of Mongolia. Lot's of great scenes with a surrealistic feel. Add some very good sound/music and there you have it.
I loved it. But don't watch it if you want something to cheer you up. They haven't exactly picked the nicest places. Almost everything looks deteriorated and polluted. Enjoy!
