I Care a Lot (2020)
Russian Mafia comedy?
How in the world can this be labeled as a comedy? The only things comical are the Russian Mafia henchmen who are so inept that a Brownie troop would be better bodyguards. Their scenes remind me of Dr. Evil's son saying why not just shoot them in the head instead of these overly elaborate ways to kill them that always fail. Movie starts out as a terrifying story of what seems believable by an extremely evil woman and her lover preying on vulnerable old people. However it soon turns into two superheroes becoming super rich by outwitting the Russian human traffickers who you are rooting for. By the end you are compelled to keep on watching just to see what kind of horrible, gruesome death the heroes will meet (to save you wasting your time just a bullet through the heart). I gave this piece of garbage a half star for Dinklage who is always superb and another half for making me realize that I watch too much TV and have to get back to reading and gardening.
The Morning Show (2019)
Interesting until episode 4
Very well acted. Interesting, diverse characters but I felt that episode 4 is going more for shock value. Shame, I was really hooked up until then.
Brothers in Arms (2017)
Complete waste of time
This piece of trash makes Manos the Hand of Fate seem like Citizen Kane. It is so bad that you do not have to see it. Have seen better acting in middle school productions.
Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald (2018)
Big disappointment
Huge Rowling's and Depp fan but what a disappointment. Twists and turns make no sense whatsoever. First time I am not looking forward to the sequel.
Old Dogs (2009)
One of the worst movies I have even seen.
I was willing to give Travolta and Williams the benefit of the doubt for this film but I was shocked at how truly bad this movie was. You can see the jokes coming a mile away and when they arrive they are just not funny. My family and I almost always disagree on movies but everyone thought this was a total waste of time. Cancer jokes, dead dog jokes, racist jokes? How unfortunate that this was Bernie Macs last movie. I really felt sorry for anyone associated with this non-comedy. Forget laughs, forget even smiles, this movie will leave you squirming in your seat. Luckily we got this on Netflix and it is already out on the porch for the mailman. This movie makes "Manos: The Hands of Fate" look good. It is beyond me how anyone can give this a ranking of anything higher than a 2.
The Iron Giant (1999)
Excellent movie; humor, suspense, good story & great animation.
This movie got an ovation when it was over; something that does not happen very often here in Orange County. It contains the unusual combination of a very good story plus subtle moral lessons. It takes place in Maine in 1957 and has a nice selection of popular songs from that time. The facial expressions on the Iron Giant were excellent. Children will especially enjoy this movie.
