The Rebel (1959)
He Packed No Star As He Wandered Far....Johnny Yuma
One of the best Western series of all time. Johnny Yuma, The Rebel took no grief from anybody and was quick to help the underdog defeat injustice. I personally like the on going feature of Johnny's writing in his journal of his travels and people he meet along the way. I am proud to have all 76 episodes in my VHS collection.
Tombstone Territory (1957)
"Whistle Me Up A Memory"
Sheriff Clay Hollister defended the law in "The Town To Tough To Die" and did it with a no nonsense approach. The narration by Harris Claibourn editor of the Tombstone 'Epitaph' brought a sense of additional realism to this high quality show.
Columbo: Forgotten Lady (1975)
John Payne Steals The Movie
Even though Janet Leigh plays perhaps the most sympathetic killer of any Columbo mystery (due to her health in story) the guest performance of John Payne is outstanding as her former song and dance movie partner. Peter Falk as always is excellent as Lt. Columbo and veterans Maurice Evans and Sam Jaffe turn in thier trademark performances as men of fine culture.
Vig (1998)
Falk goes Irish
Excellent performance by Peter Falk as a man of good values reduced to making a living as a bookie. He is wealthy in the love he shares with Tyne Daly in a good performance as his loving wife. Tim Hutton plays a useless drunken loser and Ms. Holly gives a fine performance as his loyal wife. Freddie Prinze Jr. gives a posterboy performance for just say no to cocaine.
The Adventures of Rin Tin Tin (1954)
Yoooooohhhhh Rinty
Adventure packed story after story. Rusty gets into a danger situation and Rin Tin Tin saves him, either by himself or by going back to Fort Apache to get Lt. Rip Masters and/or Sgt O'Hara and Corporal Boone to save him. It was a must see for 5 years on Friday nights on ABC, than afternoon re-runs and Saturday morning re-runs for years.
Ramar of the Jungle (1952)
Notice my Login
If you want adventure and action this is the show to watch. Ramar brought medical help to all who needed it, the local natives who he had to educate to modern medicine, fellow adventurer Professor Ogden, or animals. After helping out in Africa he spent his final season in India.
The Big Valley (1965)
What Unspeakable Act Did Eugene Do?
The Barkley family led by Victoria were a close loving family sons Jarrod the well respected lawyer, Nick who ran their large ranch and daughter Audra. So understanding was Victoria that she let her late husband's son , Heath, from an illegitimate affair into the family as full son. In the first season son Eugene was seen as a college student who would be home for a few shows, but didn't return for second season. What did he do that was so terrible? Fail a course? Embezzle faternity funds?
Red Corner (1997)
Airport farewell
The airport runway finale was the most romantic movie farewell since " Casablanca". A don't miss movie,,,Ben Matlock would have been locked up for life for contempt of court.
CHiPs '99 (1998)
Same flavor as series
Only 2 things didn't make since....Jon as Captain on morning roll call, isn't this a sgt. job? Grossman as detective he should be a square badge at KMart.
Loose in London (1953)
America's Oliver
Fair is fair Oliver came to America to make movies, so America sent its finest...Mr. Huntz Hall to England.
