Free Enterprise (1998)
You gotta see this flick
A beautiful blend of humor and sex. Shatner's outrageous,
hamming it up, spoofing himself...and loving it. His rap at the
end of the film NEEDS to be seen, heard, and studied by future
generations. The "in-jokes" about Hollywood are top notch stuff
from longtime SciFi guru, and first-time writer/director, Robert
Meyer Burnett. Rumor has it, Tarantino saw the film at the '98
Hawaii film fest, and cornered Burnett at a party, quoting back
his favorite lines from the movie...how bizarre, how biz
The New Gods (1997)
Mixing elements of Kerouac, Morrison, and Cobain, THE NEW GODS involves a poet that questions his morality in the underground music scene of a small town.
A rocking good time for a micro-budget festival film. Trippy, with some cool dialogue, and intense, emotionally charged scenes. The sometimes amateurish production values are quickly forgivable, as the main character ponders, "Nothing is a waste that makes a memory..."
A killer soundtrack. Haunting techno score. Shadowy visuals.
A murky nightmare of passion and pain, as a young artist tries to escape the violent stomping grounds of his youth.
