The Green Mile (1999)
The Most Beautiful Movie I've Ever Seen
This has to be the most touching inspirational movie I've ever had the pleasure to view. I cannot put into words the deep feelings and imprint it has left on me. I cannot think of another movie that has ever moved me the way this one has. The characters and scripting was perfect, this is now my all time favorite movie by far. Even though it is sad it is all too beautiful at the same time.
The Tiger Woods Story (1998)
How Does My Dictate?
Wow!!!! this was the all time lowest film every made. A must see for those who are absolutely shocked with terrible cinema. My friend and I watched this one in amazement wondering where it came from. There was a funny line though........."How does my dictate" Tiger.......How did you let this get made?
Ever After (1998)
Enchanting
A much better tale then the older versions, although quite corny at moments, it still had something beautiful about it. Maybe I was in a sappy mood but I really enjoyed this movie... Drew is a Goddess, I've loved her since E.T.
Austin Powers: The Spy Who Shagged Me (1999)
Not as Good as The First
Although International Man of Mystery can never be replicated, The Spy Who Shagged Me was a decent attempt to crank out many laughs. Myers has the ability to make one laugh in any circumstance, which is pretty rare in Hollywood. The only thing I really didn't enjoy is the shameless promotion on MTV. What was that about? Enough people will see it, That is, if Lucas allows........It will still make a Ton on Screen and especially when it goes to VHS and DVD. 6 of 10 *
Rushmore (1998)
Boring
I could count the number of times I laughed on my hand, and that's not saying much. As a Bill Murray fan I was not thrilled, his running time in the film was less than 20 minutes total. (What about Bob, Stripes, Groundhog Day, Caddyshack, all Classics) The Scottish one ear character stole the show and his run time was the same as Murray's. The dark haired nerdy lead guy was a little annoying, although funny at times. The British woman was beautiful and that's about it.......Oh and someone else said when the movie was over everyone got up and clapped? Wow!! that must have been some good stuff, better than mine obviously? The humor was Dark and more different than your average recent comedy, but was all to short in time and lacked key elements in a movie with A worthy cast. Too bad, I was truly expecting more...
Vampires (1998)
Entertaining For A Vampire Movie
Although I think John Carpenter has really slipped as far as his work, but this was a decent film. It was entertaining compared to most of the crap they put out (Action Thriller). It was better than Blade, and that's not saying a lot.
Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas (1998)
A Pure Trip
No need for any of what they're on to enjoy this one. I'm hip to this Trip being a native Vegan, and believe me, they captured the essence beyond belief. This is the first movie that's made me uncomfortable with pleasant tension. Depp was brilliant.... Amazing and terrible at the same time, the Bathroom scene? Insanity. I think this is the first Movie to out do a Classic Masterpiece on paper, only because of the placed visuals and Direction. It's mostly disturbing and confusing throughout the whole movie, but if you know where they're coming from you'll love it.
Antz (1998)
Eye Candy
Woody Allen still lives up to his unique style, blending humor and every other aspect of life in this short animated movie. The CGI was incredible, I never thought this could be pulled off, it was this least to say, enjoyable. Although I expected more, the running time seemed appropriate for all of the stimulating scences. It was probably one of the more interesting films in recent CGI animation thanks to Dreamworks.....
The Saint (1997)
Beautiful
This is one of those movies that is strictly for the eye. The soundtrack by Graeme Revell was brilliant, Elizabeth Shue is absolutely stunning. In the apartment scene her eyes shine in diamond hazel colors. It was just a simply movie, decent acting, but there was something about it. It captured an essence, I can't actually describe it, it was actually corny and beautiful at the same time.
