The Worst Thing
12 April 2002
Wow. Just when you think films are making a comeback (A Beautiful Mind, Moulin Rouge, etc) a movie like The Sweetest Thing comes around and kicks you in the butt. The only positive thing about this overly raunchy, bathroom humoured piece of crap is that it is short. The whole movie lowered my I.Q. and I urge you to save your money.

Cast Away (2000)
This is it?
26 January 2001
I was sorely disappointed by this hyped-up and overrated film that promised to be something enjoyable. So much was left out in an attempt to squeeze a promising storyline into a few hours. I can't fathom a man being lost for 4 years and so easily integrating himself into society. "Hey, guys, I'm back". I was disappointed by the ending. Although it left the audience with something to think about, I thought it was cheesy and underdramatized. I'm afraid to say that Tom Hanks is losing his touch.

Tres cute!

This was my in-flight movie on a flight from Paris to Cincinatti, and I must admit, I enjoyed this French flick much more than the American movies I've seen in recent months. It's not rolling-out-of-your chair funny, and it's not a heartbreaking drama. It's just a good movie. You'll laugh, and I cried. So get a copy dubbed in English, or go for the subtitles, and enjoy this cute little film.

I Feel Like I Have Lost Two Hours Of My Life!
4 April 2000
Don't see this movie. You will feel so much stupider afterwards. You want to know the plot of the story--people die. That's about it...The characters are underdeveloped, the plot is as unbelievable as it is lacking. Its attempts at depth are pitiful, and you'll kick your own rear for buying the ticket.

Sweetwater (1999 TV Movie)
Best TV Movie Ever
16 August 1999
This is a great movie, you have to see it if you get VH1 [don't worry, they overplay everything] It was a great portrayal of a struggling rock and roll band. [trust me, as a musician, I know] With excellent costumes and historical accuracy, the story of Sweetwater is told classfully. The music is great, and you want to watch it again when it's over. I'd give you a summary, but I'd rather you go see the movie.

Wild Ride With A Bit of History
1 July 1999
The only reason I saw this movie was because that's what my group of friends wanted to see--I'm not into the song, that's for sure. However, I was surprised when it was not only a very funny movie, it wasn't that predictable, like most of Smith's recent flicks. The technology was a bit far-fetched for the 1800's, but hey, have you seen a realistic movie in the past 10 years? All in all, it was a funny movie that gives you something to do during "Will Smith Weekend". Salema Hayeck was excellent, and outshone her male costars.

Wow....a romance that won't put you to sleep.
30 June 1999
Believe it or not, there is such thing as an edge-of-your seat romance. In this movie starring Drew Barrymore, there is the constant threat of the "bad guy" [Angelica Houston] winning. And Barrymore makes a believable Cinderella, a headstrong and intelligent young lady as opposed to the beautiful muse that stories have depicted her as. I prefer this story to those that have standed the test of time simply because the prince falls in love with her mind, not just her beauty.

A great movie, if you don't want to think.

This is another one of those stupid Mel Brooks movies--I love it, personally. When you're tired or upset, you don't want to watch some boring movie that you have to spend hours analyzing. You want straight out gags and something that will keep you laughing. That's what this movie is for, my friend. That is, if you like tasteless humour, some of which you have to have *some* education for. But overall, it's just a dumb movie that you have to love. Why can't history class be so fun?

The dumbest movie ever.....I loved it!
22 June 1999
With its male adolescent-type humour and constant gags, Austin Powers Two isn't the sort of movie you want to watch over and over again. But it's great if you feel the need to watch one of those movies that you feel guilty for laughing at. I'd watch this movie when I'm feeling groggy, because there is no deep analysis required.

Movies Just Don't Get Any Better Than This
25 May 1999
Along with millions of people worldwide I saw Star Wars: Episode 1- The Phantom Menace on May 19th and was overwhelmed. This movie proves that George Lucas is a genius director and writer. You knew it was going to be good when the word's "A long time ago in a galaxy far, far away" appeared and the audience cheered like it was the winning touchdown of the superbowl. The special effects made this movie so great because you felt like this could really happen because it was so life-like. The actors were great! Some of the best out there. Liam Neeson & Ewan McGregor as Qui-Gon Jinn and Obi-Wan were just performed like the actors really had the force & no one else could play Queen Amidala better than rising star Natalie Portman. But the most surprised portrayal was of Young Anakin played by Jake Lloyd who I heard couldn't act at all. Nice cameos by Yoda, Jabba the Hutt, R2 & C-3PO as well. I would most definitely recommend this movie if you haven't seen it already. It is worth all the hype that it has received.

WOOHOO!!!!!!
19 May 1999
You are in for a treat--great special effects, great makeup and hair, great acting. In short, WHOA!!!! The characters are believable, even the funny little quirky aliens. Seeing it opening day at midnight was the only way to go, but see it anyway! Despite the explosions and effects, there's still things that strike you at the heart, and it appeals to the 9-year-old and 30-year-old in all of us.

Stepmom (1998)
Bring the tissues!
27 April 1999
With brilliant acting by the females of the movie [Julia Roberts, Susan Sarandon, and Jena Malone] this is definitely one of those stereotypical "chick flicks" that you need to see with your closest girlfriends, but never on a date. [unless runny mascara is something your boyfriend really likes] The drama and comedy blended well together, and even the movie's youngest actor, Liam Aiken, was believable. Hats off to this brilliant cast.

Aw, so cute...in a way that makes you want to throw up.

It's one of those movies that you'll laugh at, then feel guilty for appreciating such humour. It's just a dumb kids movie, so if you like that thing, go for it. You can watch it with your kids, though, which is a rather good thing. Still, don't expect brilliant cinematography.

WHOA!!!
9 March 1999
This is one of those movies that you just have to sit down and think about. It is a beautiful picture of Heaven, a grim interpretation of Hell, and an overall kickin' movie. You'll spend hours after just wondering if that's how the afterlife really is.
