Let Friedkin & Wang Chung rock you, baby!!
21 February 1999
Friedkin returns to "French Connection" turf with this detailed and entertaining look at counterfeitors and the Secret Service agents who hunt them. William Petersen, Willem DaFoe & John Pankow all shine, and the screenplay is gritty and life-like. Wang Chung's throbbing score is a perfect match for Friedkin's style. Plus, get ready for

car chase action that will leave your pulse racing!! Another must see for Friedkin fans!!

Spike Lee brings the seamy side of "Crooklyn" to life.
20 February 1999
Easily one of the best films of the '90's, Spike Lee's "Clockers" represents film at its very best. The powerful screenplay is overflowing with detail, and the dialogue brings forth both the cruelty and humanity of the street life. The assembled cast is equally terrific--there is not a weak performance to be found here. Simply put, this is beautifully executed story-telling. My highest recommendation.

William Hurt becomes ape to learn to be a man.
20 February 1999
Ken Russell's film adaptation of Paddy Chayefsky's novel is brimming over with circus fun-house special effects, but his celluloid histrionics don't do too much damage to the fascinating storyline. Hurt gives a terrific performance, and the scenes with him as an ape wreaking havoc are well done.

Jeff Bridges & John Heard shine in this 80's gem.
19 February 1999
John Heard gives an Oscar-caliber performance in Ivan Passer's psychological-thriller. A well-crafted script delivers the goods from start to finish, and Jack Nitzsche's score complements the story beautifully. A must-see for fans of the genre.
