Talk of Angels (1998)
Enjoyable, but a tad shakey
I was impressed by this movie. The acting by Vincent Perez was truly exquisite, he'll surely be taking the world by storm. (not to mention he's something to look at) I thought that the plot was great. Though the end is kinda funky. (I won't give it away)
I only truly felt a tad let down in Polly Walker. Her accent was wobbly and her emotion was only 80% their. But she manages to pull through.
I know barely anything about the Spanish Civil War but was quite taken by how that didn't really matter. They seemed to explain it without it sounding like a History lesson.
Which is why I suggest that everyone should go out and rent this movie right now. It was truly enjoyable.
The MatchMaker (1997)
One of the best romantic comedies ever!
I loved it. Bollox, I adored it. This was one of the funniest movies I've seen in a long time. I've been trying to buy this movie for the past months its so good. Janene Garafolo proves again to be one of the funniest actresses out there. You could just eat up the greatness of David O'Hara. It's an absolute must see.
10 Things I Hate About You (1999)
Supurbly funny
10 Things I Hate About You was absolutely hilarious and is one of the funniest teen movies of the year. Julia Stiles is fabulous as Kat, and incredibly funny. She is definitely going to be a someone you should get used to hearing. So is Larissa Olynk, a girl whose only other acting atributes were a Nickelodeon show called The Adventures of Alex Mack and the Baby Sitters Club Movie. And the guy who played their teacher was incredibly funny and should be moving on to bigger and better things. Not to mention the hilarious girl who played Kat's best friend who is in love with Shakespeare. So, in conclusion go see this fabulous movie based on one of the best Shakespeare plays ever written.
