The Blair Witch Project (1999)
Really creepy
Blair Witch is a film that should be viewed by every person, or at least every person who doesn't have a weak stomach. The Blair Witch Project will most likely knaw at the back of your mind all day. If you see it in the morning, it will completely terrify you for the rest of the day. If you see it at night, you'll be afraid to leave the theater. A whole lot of people no longer go camping thanks to this film. Blair Witch will really give you the creeps, not just the "loud noise out of nowhere" rule, it will get you thinking. It will stay with you for a long time, you will never look at the woods the same way. I highly recommend this film for any people who believe in any supernatural articles, and for any guy who takes a date to this, she will be clinging to you for dear life.
The Wizard (1989)
This movie rocks
I love this movie, I really, really love this movie. It's not that it's a great Hollywood film, It's just that it lets you take a stroll down memory lane. This really did make me appreciate the original 8-bit Nintendo, you don't really appreciate things until they are no longer here. This Movie really is fun to watch, also it is a great family film, It is suitable for children and parents would remember if they have older children the old 8-bit Nintendo and having they're kids and they're friends coming over after school and playing "Pro Wrestling" until their arms fell off. So at least give it a shot, you really can't go wrong, unless you hate video games. If you like, at least like, video games, not even love games, then you'll get a kick out of this. So, give it a shot, I mean you should use your best judgement on this, but I would really like for more people to watch this, not from a Hollywood perspective, but a people perspective. Please do watch it, if you really don't like it, you can blame me.
The Nutty Professor (1996)
Worth Watching
I will keep this short and sweet, if you like fart jokes then you'll love this. It has probably the best Fart Joke since "Blazing Saddles".
Spice World (1997)
I love this movie
I'm not a huge Spice Girl fan but i really liked this. I am a male, so this might look odd that I was watching Spice World, well at first when it came to video I wouldn't let it in the house, Then it came on HBO and I watched it and loved it. For men, watch it at least twice, once to stare, then to listen. Girls you can watch it for the music and the comedy, just watch it though.
Summer of Sam (1999)
Great Film, Sad Events
Spike Lee comes out fighting with his new film Summer Of Sam, which was almost 100% perfect. Like most Spike Lee pictures it was a tad too long, at 140 minutes, if he had shortened it by about ten to twenty minutes it would have been absolutely perfect. John Leguizamo gave a stellar performance as Vinny, the repeat philanderer, completely unfaithful to his wife Dionna, played by the lovely Mira Sorvino, In the midst of all the hoop-la surrounding the son of sam murders, Vinny tries to give up on cheating and go straight, but the pressures become to much for him to handle so Vinny starts doing more drugs and has more trouble with his "associates" when they try to get him to help set up their buddy Ritchie. They have reason to believe that Ritchie, played by Adrian Brody, is the son of sam. But the truth about this film is that it is not about the son of sam murders, but more about the people and the atmosphere during the time. People were scared out of their wit and Spike Lee captured that in this film, not to cash in on the horrid events that David Berkowitz bestowed upon the Bronx. Berkowitz seems to be outraged by the film, well, my friend's sister said it best. "When you go out and kill a bunch of people, your opinions just don't matter anymore." This film is most definitely recommended by me, though it should not be viewed by children.
Goodfellas (1990)
Possibly the best movie ever
"Goodfellas" is possibly the best movie ever created in the history of film. It gives an exact account of life in the mob, how it works, what to do with the rats. It truly is a hallmark of our times, with the workings of Bobby DeNiro, Joe Pesci, Ray Liota, this is a treasure. "Goodfellas" has the best song for the credits, and when Tommy gets made they play the piano exit to Layla by Clapton, the greatest song of all time. All I can say is that this movie should be in everyone's library of videos.
Bulworth (1998)
"As we stand on the doorstep to the new Millennium..."
I thought that Bulworth was one of the funniest and most well written movies to date. Warren Beatty did an astonishing job in this film, a little too good now that I think of it. But really, this film attacked all aspects of life in the united states, welfare, blacks, whites, lying politicians, sleazy businessmen, all of it. It truly was one of the most ingenious movies ever to be created, and the fact that they got Warren Beatty to rap through the whole thing, that was a hoot. But in all honesty, I would have to say that if you have not seen this movie yet, go see it, you'll be pleasantly surprised.
At First Sight (1999)
This is a good movie
At First Sight really is a pretty good movie, it has all the best aspects of a good Hollywood film, it has romance, humor, good acting, a good story, and last but not least, for that blood-thirsty American populus, brief nudity. But then again you could really put Mira Sorvino in any movie and it'll make money, just from here legions of fans, myself included. Also if I may say that when I saw this film, Miss. Sorvino had appeared to be showing some signs of aging in her facial expressions, personally I thought it was from her not having the blonde hair anymore, but maybe those films are starting to take their toll on her. Any-hoo, this is just a good movie, by far not Sorvino's best work, but still none the less, a high quality film. Val Kilmer was also pretty good, though in parts he didn't exactly play a blind guy to well, but then sometimes he did. It all depends on what you're looking for. Another thing is that this is a perfect movie to snuggle with your signifigant other with, just bring the Kleenex or a dry shoulder to be cried on.
Norma Jean & Marilyn (1996)
What a tangled web we weave
Now, I can't tell you how exact the film was because I'm way too young to remember Marilyn, I'm 14 cut me a break, but I thought that this was a seemingly good film, especially for an HBO production. It most likely ranks up with other HBO movies like "A Bronx Tale", "Tyson", and the series "From the Earth to The Moon". I thought that both Ashley Judd and Mira Sorvino did an excellent job on their parts. Yet hold in account that I really don't enough knowledge about Marilyn Monroe to hold my facts up in a court of law, but I thought it was a truly good, quality film, but maybe I'm wrong, who knows.
