Bent (1997)
Mick jagger in drag-nice one
This movie is heart warming, frightening, and hilarious. Mick Jagger as the formidable Greta was absolutely brilliant this man has definitely gone up in my estimations. Clive Owen gave an amazing portrayal as the tortured hero Max, and Lothaire Bluteau as Horst was exceptional. Both these fine actors both deserve a lot of recognition for their outstanding performances. The writer of this film used a winning formula and should have been recognised with an oscar. Whoever came up with the idea of Mick Jagger as a drag queen should be congratulated.
All Over Me (1997)
Gang Warfare
This film has a great view of teenagers experimenting, homophobia (in that the character Luke was murdered by the homophobic Mark), drugs and friendship. The lead character of Claud was played excellently, and Wilson Cruz was a diamond. I hope all of the young actors and actresses make it into the big time.
Go Fish (1994)
Girl power at ts best
This film is one of the best films I have seen. It presents Lesbians as independent and confident, as well as doing away with the usual stereo types. Go Fish shows that lesbians are human too, dealing with topics such as love, parents, relationships and sex, it gives insight into a world that most people don't believe exists. Rose Troche's directing is amazing, giving a real image of lesbian life instead of a Hollywood idea. As far as I am concerned, Rose Troche is one of the best directors of our time and Guinevere Turner is an amazing and beautiful actress. Keep it up girls!!!!!!
