La putain du roi (1990)
Intense emotion
Timothy Dalton does it again! As I become a bigger fan of his I am amazed at the depth and emotion he lends to his characters. This movie has some plot weaknesses which I cannot decide if would be corrected by less or more film. Bravo to Timothy Dalton. His range of emotion is fantastic. Even when not speaking he conveys so much as when Jeanne finally comes to him. Dalton also continues to show off his sword prowess with a very complex scene near the end. Worth seeing!
Cleopatra (1999)
Hollywood strikes again
Hollywood strikes again. The miniseries trys to cram too much into too little time. The first part was great mainly due to Timothy Dalton. He played a very strong Caesar. The second part lost its drive. I don't know if it was casting or plot. Just watch the first part. You know what happens in the end anyway.
The Beautician and the Beast (1997)
The Nanny goes to Eastern Europe
The Nanny is a great sitcom and I love it. But this movie was just The Nanny set in Eastern Europe. Predictable but cute. I liked Timothy Dalton's character because it was a different look at him. The character was gruff but he played him a comic twist which he looked like he enjoyed. I would like to see Fran Dresicher in something besides The Nanny especially since the series in now over.
