it's up to you
2 June 2017
Warning: Spoilers
If you're in the mood to laugh at everything, even the worst, this movie will go very well. But otherwise, you'd have to jump straight to the funniest scene, where Yvan Atal is dressed like a Drag Queen during the Gay Pride. I will not say more but it is irresistible. For the rest, it is expected, without surprise, calibrated for an evening on a mainstream channel and it will not wake up many people. So My 6 could be a 5 or a 4....

if only...

I was going to put 4 stars but realized that everything is not as bad as other people says. OK, some details are shocking if this story takes place in France of middle age. But it's fantasy so... Most of the songs are good and it's a good mix between the first version of Disney and the Broadway show. And I like that... But if you don't liked the story in the animated movie, go away. It's not a remake of the cocteau's movie and not even the last one with Vincent Cassel. It's only a family movie with many ingredients to make it work in movie theatres but not many passion. You can laugh, you can cry but there's a lack of feelings. If you had all the mistakes I spoke in the beginning, that's a 5-6 stars.

San Andreas (2015)
Not awful

This is the kind of film where it is difficult to do something credible. Here, everything is "too much" even the Rock's muscles. We have caricatured characters who seem to survive only when the entire city collapses, but are struggling to attract sympathy. The wicked die too quickly and seem almost ridiculous.

OK, the CGI are almost well done. The 3D starts well, but, as often, there's a lack of good use of this technology after the half of the movie. We don't have a pompous music as in a Bruckheimer production but we are not far of the same recipe.

Yet in all this, we are distracted, because it is only for this. A popcorn movie more!

A voir absolument
15 November 2012

A very good thriller, a masterpiece for animal lovers
14 November 2012
Jerome Lescure did a very good movie about Animal Liberation Front. It's a thriller with psychological elements on the characters, more than an action movie. But the suspense is so intense there's no need of action movie. Animal lovers will recognize themselves in one of the character. Good music, very good screenplay and actors with Alexandre Laignier at his best. Jerome Lescure did a good movie but also a "political movie", denunciating vivisection and animal exploitation. The movie is very useful for those who don't know reality about what they use, eat, smell... It's not a documentary, so everyone can see it as he wants. And to conclude, the message is so interesting and disturbing that it's a "Must See".

Fireworks (1997)
The best Movie I've ever seen
23 October 1999
It's simply a masterpiece. You can't imagine the feelings I had after that movie. Kitano is, for me, one of the best directors in the world. With that film, he raises the top. You cry, you smile, you laugh.... It's wonderful and must be seen absolutely in Japanese version.
