This movie is for children
31 May 2003
I guess it can be argued that all kaiju is for children, but this one is in the way that the old Gamera films were. The principle human characters are children. The dialog is light and cheery, most of the time. This is not so much about monster battles but kids having an adventure and saving the day.

It's nice and entertaining, but those expecting a typical Godzilla-type kaiju film are going to be disappointed.

Frank Tashlin and Technicolor
21 May 2003
Yes, Jerry Lewis can get annoying, but this movie is worth seeing just for the visuals. As in Cinderfella, the clothes and sets are all too broad and too bright for real life. Tashlin has a talent for making Lewis's mugging work more often than not.

There are consequences to appearing on these shows
7 May 2003
It's highly stylized, but this movie shows that real people appear on these shows and what seems like good fun and a chance to appear on television can have serious consequences.

Yes, i's mostly comedy, but there are some sad moments.

The Bill Tush Show (1980– )

Terrific skit comedy show, properly named "Tush!"
12 July 2001
Bonnie and Terry Turner (and later Jan Hooks) went to Saturday Night Live based on the strength of this skit comedy show, while Bill Tush moved to California to work for CNN. One of my favorite recurring skits was Captain Space, with costumes made of silver weight loss suits and helmets of plastic water bottles. Another featured Tush as a high school coach and Hooks as a seductive student.

It aired on Sunday nights at 7 pm on WTCG (now WTBS).
