When I went to mystery men I was expecting an average, not bad, mediocre (well you get the idea) movie. Boy was I surprised. Mystery men is a funny and inventive movie, that left me laughing long after I left the theater. The humor ranges from silly jokes about bodily functions to stinging political satire. But what is really great is the acting. Through my experience I have come to believe that top quality comedy is achieved through character, and the portrayal of character in mystery men is superb. Every character is funny in his own way and each character has a very unique and consistent personality. Prepare yourself for a lot of parody and satire in this one. Not just on super hero movies and comics, but on society in general. To conclude this is an excellent movie that I'd recommend to anyone. I know it kind of looks cheesy, but I went anyway and I found it too be superb!

This video was my first experience with Monty Python. Since then I have become a rabid fan. This compilation is fabulous. All the sketches included are top notch and outrageously funny. Steve Martin's commentary is also quite amusing and the video leaves nothing to be desired. If you are a python fan, you should buy this video. The miriad of hilarious sketches will leave you rolling on the floor. If you've never seen Monty Python on the other hand, watch this video. It will make you a fan. It made me one.

I love every movie and show Monty Python have ever done, except this one. It felt as though instead of trying to be funny they were only going for shock value. Nothing in this movie is particularly funny, while there are several segments that are particulary offensive. There are some good points to this movie, such as Eric Idle's Galaxy Song but most of the movie is falls pitifully short from the hilarious comedy I have come to expect from the best comedians of all time. This movie is not only completely offensive but also not very funny. The only part of this movie worth seeing is the little segment at the begining called "The Crimson Permanent Assurance" which was directed by Terry Gilliam. This 15 minute episode is absolutely hilarious, which sets you up for a hilarious Python movie, only to be dissapointed. Even if you are a Python fan I cannot recommend this movie. I love Monty Python, but I hate this film.

I used to think that there would never be a film that would leave me so completely overwhelmed and astonished on so many levels as a good novel could. No other movie can compare to such books as Sphere and The Hobbit. However when I saw the Matrix this belief was instantly quashed. It is amazing in so many ways that my comments could not possibly do justice to it. I guess I'll start with the obvious. The special effects. These are the most apparent on the first look. All I can say to describe them is: "WOW!" The effects range from realistic explosions to surrealistic, futuristic slow motion types of effects that create a feeling of excruciating suspense while also pumping out fast paced action! And what action. The actions scenes aren't those dull car chases and pointless shootouts that turn me of 99% of action movies. The action in this movies has never been seen before. Sure there is a "gunfight" but it isn't like any gunfight EVER done before. I'm not a big action fan because I find action movies repetitive. But the Matrix is anything but. Whether your John Q. Action or a despiser of action movies you'll probably be on the edge of your seat. The next place that this film scores is in the philosophical and dramatic areas. Many action movies are devoid of such sensibilities but the Matrix scores a direct hit. It is amazing to me how a movie can incorporate such intellligent themes into an action environment without dragging on. The Matrix is NEVER boring, even if your looking for a pure action movie, and yet it encorporates so much higher thought that the actions seems to be only secondary. Finally: the biblical alusion. Well, when this was first suggested to me I thought it was just some crazy freaks looking for biblical allusion and finding it because they wanted to. Boy was I wrong. The Matrix has biblical allusion out the wazoo! You can believe me because I'm a registered skeptic, and if I think there is biblical allusion, there is biblical allusion. I'll let you all figure it out for yourselves, but for all you Christians out there, the many references to the bible make this phenominal movie even better. In all this film is so unbelievably good that I had to put it at the top of my list as the best movie ever made. If you like action, drama, sci-fi(by the way this movie IS NOT science fiction, at least not in the traditional sense), or movies that make you think the Matrix is for you. It is a very intelligent, thought provoking action movie with many Christian overtones. You should absolutely, without-a-doubt see this movie. You will not regret it!

Monty Pythons Quest For The Holy Grail is by far my favorite comedy. I remember the first time I watched it. I had only heard of Monty Python sort of off hand, and had never seen any of their stuff and from what I had hear they didn't sound particularly funny. But there I was staying over at my cousin's apartment. She wasn't there and the rent was free. Well, in her video cabinet she had 5 or so videos. One was Holy Grail. So we watched it. I did not stop laughing, EVER! Just as you got a break from hilarity something funnier was just around the bend. It is so extremely funny that no other comedy can compare! The comedy ranges from silly to intelligent, but all of it is very, very good. I originally had a problem with ending and it was a awful way to end such a great film. I watched to the very end of that stupid music! Anyway, well, now the ending is perfect. I can't really say why without giving away the ending so I won't. But the ending is historically accurate ( well sort of ). Anyway, you will love this movie, and if the ending leaves a sour taste in your mouth, then tough, its payment for seeing such a top notch movie. Anyway, this movies is fabulous. A comedy of must see quality.
