Texas Chainsaw Massacre The Return, trashy to say the least!
25 February 2000
Texas Chainsaw Massacre The Return has to be one of the worst pieces of film I have ever witnessed. With a horrible script that attempts to be original and lousy acting by all involved(worst of all is the unscary Leather Face that makes you want to knock him out by the end of the movie instead of run in fear from him)this film actually leaves you with a trashy feeling after you watch it. This thing is very cheap and does no respect to the excellent original Texas Chainsaw Massacre. This movie is truly horrible! The main point(if there is one)of this movie is about some high school teens that conveniently get lost on some back roads after leaving the prom and then crash into another car while driving in the night. From there it goes all down hill as the teens stumble onto the house inhabited by the chainsaw family and are chased and beaten and stabbed but still manage to mumble their meaningless lines as the movie drags on for over an hour and a half. The plot then takes a turn from bad to horrible as we find out that the United States government is running tests on fear and using the family to do the dirty work. I do not recommend this film at all and warn anyone interested to stay away and not even rent it just for fun. I give this "film" two thumbs way down. HORRIBLE! Rated R for Language, Brief Nudity, Violence/Gore, and disturbing images.

The Punisher (1989)
The Punisher, great comic adaption and even better action film!
25 February 2000
The Punisher is truly one of my favorite movies of all time. It is one of many great action movies made in the 80's. Full of excellent action sequences and shoot outs, this film is marvelous. The point of this film is about a man whose family is murdered by gangsters which then turns him into a one man killing machine who takes out any criminal he gets the chance to. In the movie, The Punisher is forced to take out the trash when a Japanese mafia family moves in and tries to take over the Italian mafias drug running and territory rights by killing off their men and kidnapping their children. Blade: The Movie and this film are truly the only two comic book adaptions(besides Superman and Batman 1 and 2) to be actually exciting and enjoyable to watch. This movie is highly recommended by myself and I would tell anybody who likes action and comic style writing to rent it. If you liked Blade: The Movie, you will love this film! I give it two thumbs way up. RATED R FOR STRONG ACTION, VIOLENCE/GORE, LANGUAGE, AND BRIEF NUDITY.

Maniac Cop (1988)
Maniac Cop, A cool little action/horror flick.
25 February 2000
Maniac Cop is a cool little movie. Made with a small budget and few known actors, I thought that it was going to be stupid and cheap looking. I was wrong. With an original script that features respective characters and a new horror villain, this film was very entertaining and well done. Unlike many horror and action movies of today, this film didn't need a huge budget to make it good. It just called for good direction and good use of low funds. What really made this film good was not just a cool hero like Bruce Campbell to root for, but the actual reality that some of the things in here could very well happen in real life, adding to the films scary mood. The main point of this flick is about a cop who was killed in prison by his fellow inmates(after being sent their for police brutality and murder)and then somehow returning to life to go back onto the streets and get revenge against not only criminals but against innocent people as well. It is then up to Bruce Campbell and company to put an end to the Maniac Cops murderous rampage and restore peace to the fearful city once again. I recommend this film and think you should rent it whenever you get the chance to. I give it two thumbs up. RATED R FOR STRONG ACTION, VIOLENCE/GORE,LANGUAGE, AND INTENSE SITUATIONS.

Salem's Lot (1979)
Salem's Lot, scares a lot
21 February 2000
Salem's Lot has to be one of the best horror movies of all time. I first viewed this movie my freshman year in high school and was scared so bad I slept with the lights on.This movie doesn't have the biggest budget and not the most technical special effects as seen in a newer horror film, but this film accomplishes so much suspense and tense moments that it really scares you without all the blood and gore. The point of this movie is about a small town in the eastern United States that is basically in the middle of nowhere. A vampire moves there and starts infecting people with bites to the neck and soon the town is being harassed by many undead creatures. It is then up to one man, a boy, and some wooden stakes to take out the vampire trash. I am usually really hard on movies and watch them over and over again for flaws but this film couldn't produce any for me to complain about. This film is just a really good piece of work with great writing credits from Stephen King that shows that you don't need bad language, lots of violence and gore, and nudity. I give it two thumbs up. Rated PG-13 for intense situations and horror violence.

In Too Deep (1999)
NOT IN OVER ITS HEAD
20 February 2000
IN TOO DEEP is a movie that packs a good punch, violence wise. This film may shock you if you are not a seasoned movie vet(like myself). Aside from the violence and bad language, IN TOO DEEP gives us a nice look at what undercover police work might look like. This film is well acted by the whole cast(especially LL COOL J) and includes a "hip" sound track that adds to the films look and feel. The point of the film is about an undercover cop that tries to work his way into a drug king pin's dealing business in order to bring him down. This is a well done movie and I recommend it to those who like action and rap. I give it one thumb up. Rated R for STRONG VIOLENCE, A SCENE OF TORTURE, STRONG LANGUAGE, A SCENE OF SEXUALITY, AND BRIEF NUDITY.

Blade (1998)
SUCKS BLOOD, BUT NOT MUCH ELSE
20 February 2000
BLADE, THE MOVIE, sucks nothing else but blood. Filled with excellent special effects and solid acting as well as great martial arts action, this film makes it on to my favorite movies list. The basic point of the film is a vampire hunter that is half human and half vampire tracking down other vampires and killing them as a way of revenge for his mothers death.I recommend this to anyone who is a fan of the comic or just plain likes to see action. This flick gets a two thumbs up from me. Rated R for STRONG VIOLENCE,GORE,LANGUAGE, AND BRIEF SEXUALITY.
