Waiting for Guffman (1996)
Corky!!!!!!!!!!
I loved, loved, loved this movie. I come from a very small town in Oklahoma in which I was a part of a Centennial Celebration that would have made Corky St. Clair proud. Sad but true. Blaine has their step stools and we had the oil boom. An actual line from our play: "It's so hot the fish are fryin' in the lake." Ahhh...pure genius. Anyway...this movie is very funny and I've recommended it to many friends who have agreed. Long-live small town theater!
Brainscan (1994)
sorry
The only thing lamer than "Brainscan" is actually watching all of it.
I'm sorry Edward!!!
I'd like to admit that I'm over 14 so it's not really aimed at me anyway...but I feel better having said that.
Guys Next-Door (1990)
boy band mania
I used to love this show. Back in the day when the New Kids held a special place in my trapper keeper I couldn't wait for Saturday mornings so I could watch 5 cute guys sing, dance, and make jokes. I swear some of those Backstreet and N*Sync songs sound suspiciously like the Guys music numbers. Maybe the Guys are just hiding out waiting for the perfect moment for a reunion TV movie and tour! Or maybe not.
ABC Weekend Specials: The Mouse and the Motorcycle (1986)
mondo cute!
OK...I have a weird fascination for movies with talking mice and this little TV movie started it all. Ralph has the cutest voice I've ever heard and because of that, I fell in love with this movie as a child and I still love it today. No..it's effects aren't up to today's standards, but I think that adds to its charm. This movie is a pleasant way to pass the time. And if you also like talking mice movies (am I the only one?) I suggest "The Witches" as well, but do NOT see "Mousehunt". The mouse doesn't even talk and it's still the best actor in the movie.
