Expelled: No Intelligence Allowed (2008)
Outstanding job
Ben Stein has done a marvelous job here of outlining what is happening in the real world of Science and Education. There are a number of people entrenched in leadership positions that feel ANY question of Common Descent (Note: the movie does NOT question the theory of evolution itself; it only speaks to Common Descent) is a direct affront to them and a threat to their security. They defend their paradigm at ALL costs, regardless of the evidence stacked up against them. His symbolism with the Berlin wall is very apt in this case. He also ties in well the evolution of Darwinism from it's beginning through Eugenics and into both the holocaust and the modern day Planned Parenthood. An outstanding film that the atheists will hate and believers will love.
Gallant Bess (1946)
No mere "horse story" BUT a TRUE STORY...
I wish that I could remember the title of the book, but I remember checking it out severals times as a kid and reading it cover to cover. The book had actual photos of Bess delivering water to the seabees and her jumping straight off the ground while under attack by Japanese. It showed her retired in a lush pasture in KY. I enjoyed the movie as much as the book!!
It is the best horse story out there.
