Maybe Baby (2000)
2nd rate comedy. Rent 4 Weddings instead.
In response to deb from wales, you must be easily pleased. I laughed once during the film, and as for crying at the end, any tears would have been of relief. It's not the worse film you'll ever see, but save your money unless you are impressed by a plot which incorporates masturbation, suspected meningitis and a simpering Joely Richardson. Why were Dawn French & Rowan Atkinson completely wasted in this film?
Mr. Denning Drives North (1951)
Good performances and nice use of locations.
Somewhat under-rated British suspenser.Mills gives his usual excellent performance, and though the scene where he flies the plane doesn't come off, the film has more than enough compensations. Ending is a little hurried, but this a very watchable movie especially for we lovers of the 1950s British suspense genre.
The Wicker Man (1973)
The best British film of the 1970s - Spoilers
The final moments of this film must rank amongst the finest ever committed to celluloid. As Christopher Lee leads the crazed inhabitants of Summerisle in a chorus of 'Summer Is A Comin' In,' Edward Woodward's cries of anguish and frantic prayers are intermingled with the death throes of the sacrificed animals. The moment when Woodward first casts eyes on the giant Wicker Man sends a chill down the spine each time I view this movie.
