X2 (2003)
Well done!
3 May 2003
X2 is very well done! I was an avid watcher of the cartoon way back when and my fiance an avid reader of the comic. They did a pretty good job of following the comic but in the spots where they didn't follow the comic is becomes evident later as to why they didn't. The special effects are great! Even though Mystique is a "bad guy" I liked the fact that she had more screen time in this one. The special effects for Nghtcrawlers teleportation were great. And by the way for the ones who said he is satanic, he is not satanic. IF you read any of the stuff on the web sit or the comics you will find that he is deeply religious. It was a church that Jean Grey and Storm found him in and I believe there were gargoyles in the church which are believed in many cultures to ward off evil. I believe also nightcrawler is Hungarian and it is common for people of the hungarian culture to be religious.

During the last few minutes for any one who read the comic you will be able to tell that they are setting up for the Dark Phoenix Saga. Especially when they show the large bird like shape in the water at the very end.

It is unique to see them having to be allies in order to defeat a greater threat!

This movie does a great job!
29 September 2001
This movie does a great job of combining martial arts action and is emotional. I have seen all 4 of the series but I have to say that this one and Best of the Best 2 are my favorites. The third one has a lot of great fight scenes but doesn't have quite the kick without Eric Roberts. All the fight scenes weather compitition or a bar fight are wonderfully done. Eric Roberts fighting is really good but Phillip Rhee fighting is just wonderful to watch. His movements are very clean, fluid and powerful.

There are very strong emotional parts as well that are very well portrayed. I am a huge martial arts fan and have been for many years. So if you want a movie that has good acting. great fight scenes and has a tear jerking emotional feel to it, this is a great movie.

Salem's Lot (1979– )
It was pretty good especially if you consider how long ago it was made.
12 January 2001
Salem's Lot was pretty good considering when it was made. However if you have only seen the movie I highly recommend you read the book as well. The book is great, as well as it goes deeper into the different characters and there are a number of scenes that are cute out in the shorter version (111 minutes). If you see the movie after reading it you can go along and tell what has been cut or what scenes have been done differently or in a different scequence from the book. I know some of the scenes they had to cut out were due to the gore that is described in the book. The movie itself was pretty good but some of it disappointed me some because parts that I hoped would be followed a little more closely but do see the movie. I myself am interested and into many vampire stories and movies so this was interesting to me. There are some characters that are missing from the movie which was one of the things that disappointed me but hey you can't have everything.

I enjoyed the movie a lot!
15 December 2000
I enjoyed the movie a lot! It was entertaining and funny and at the same time mel Gibsons character makes an intrigueing change from charming pig to being caring and thoughtful. At first he is horrified at his ability as well as using it to his advantage. But then he starts useing his ability to hear womens thoughts to help them. It also helps that through the ability he starts to discover that many of the women that he work with didn't really like him but thought he was a real pain. The transition they show him go through is a nice one. THe chemistry between him and Helen Hunt wasn't great but they did well together. His ability also helps to improve his relationship with his daughter who until he was able to hear her thoughts he had no idea what was going on in her life. It was a good movie and of course does not come straight out and tell guys what women want but if they pay close enough attention they may learn a few things.

Intense!!!
9 December 2000
Vertical Limit started out intense and just kept on going. In the beginning of the movie there is an emotionally intense scene which has a huge impact on both Tunney and O'Donnell's characters that shadows many of their reasons for doing and not doing things. But everything that happens on K-2 helps them to realize they must forgive themselves. I lost count of how many times I jumped or gasped. Paxton character is a very arrogant and selfish jerk and in some scenes reminded me of a shark just waiting to attack its prey. The action was very intense and very well put together and of course the acting was great! The scenery was beautiful as well!!

Wonderfully told
9 July 2000
Wonderfully told both visually and emotionally! I have had to deal with my fiancee leaving and being gone for a long period of time so I could very much sympathize with Chris. They did a great job of showing what all the characters were going through be it the towns people or people on the sailing boat, the coast guard and the captain for the Hannah Boaden and especially the men on the Andrea Gail. I watched many of the tv shows on the making of the movie and that added to watching the movie. It is an excellent movie to watch!
