"Mr. Show" fans will enjoy it more.
23 March 2003
I've seen several episodes of "Mr. Show" on HBO, and when I discovered that "Run Ronnie Run!" made it to Kazaa, well, of course I checked it out. The film overall was pretty funny, but it didn't quite match up to what I expected. Ronnie Dobbs's pathetic excuses for commiting crimes get better and better, and Bob Odenkirk does a wonderful job of being the British guy who does not fit in with Ronnie's lifestyle. Another noteworthy performance is that of David Koechner, an ex-SNL member who plays Clay, Ronnie's dim-witted pal. Clay says my favorite line in the movie: "Woooo! I'm the principal!" The cameo appearances are plentiful, and comical. Jeff Goldblum, Andy Richter, David Foley, Jack Black, and funniest of all, Scott Thompson. One of the real disappointments in the movie was the lack of Bob and David in other roles. Sure, we see a lot of the old Mr. Show crew in this movie, such as Brian Posehn, Tom Kenny, and Jill Talley, but Bob and David don't play more than one or two roles in the entire film. I, for one, was looking forward to seeing a lot of infamous recurring "Mr. Show" characters besides Ronnie Dobbs. The only "Mr. Show" recurrence is the 'Thrilling Miracles' show with Nancy (who is played by a different actress! Bah!), and Terry Twillstein takes the place of the red-haired British guy from the sketch. However, I do think that is the Super Pan I see in the "Thrilling Miracles" scene...maybe they didn't shun all the worthy "Mr. Show" characters. Well, "Mr. Show" characters or not, I still think one would enjoy this film better if they had seen and enjoyed a few episodes of "Mr. Show". In any case, the film is worth one look, and it might even encourage one to watch "Mr. Show", which I do believe is better than the film. I give it a 4/5.

Rat Race (2001)
10/10
Best movie I saw this summer
25 August 2001
I saw the preview for Rat Race and was intrigued. The cast particularly interested me. Rowan Atkinson, or Mr. Bean as you may know him, makes an appearance, as well as Jon Lovitz, which really got me interested. The story is simple. Random people meet in a casino, and each receive a gold coin. They are brought together by the casino owner (John Cleese, another reason I wanted to see this movie) who gives them each a key. This key opens a locker in Silver City, New Mexico which contains 2 million dollars. They begin to race for it, and the events in between are hilarious.

I give it a 4.5 out of 5! Definetly should be seen!

Help! (1965)
one of the best
27 February 2001
this movie had great slapstick humor, well-timed. i.e., the intermission. great. almost monty-python like, and that is saying a lot. the dedication at the end is funny, but i'll not spoil it! the beatles were not only great musicians, but actors as well! i want a bed below floor level jus like them! that's cool! 8.5 outta 10.

The Buccaneer (1958)
Had its good sides and bad sides
10 February 2001
Good sides: Charlton Heston as Andrew Jackson! Could not have picked anyone better! Now, throw in some damn dirty apes, and the world is perfect. Jean Lafitte was illustrated in a good way(with a REAL foreign accent), but like any other movie based on historical events, they have to screw it up. Bad Sides: I.e., Migs and the Corinthian causing Lafitte to leave. WRONG. The pirates were too "nice". Also wrong. A pirate in that day would kill a priest for gold. Overall, it was an interesting movie, but if you're a historian who wanted it for its educational value, keep looking. I give it a 5.5 outta 10.

UHF (1989)
Indeed great comdey writing
4 February 2001
This was surprisingly an unsuccessful film. I never stop lauging when i see Stanley(Michael Richards) give a kid a drink from the fire hose on "Stanley Spadowski's Clubhouse". This is one of the greatest comedies ever, but unfortunately, i can't find it anywhere on video. if y have this movie on video, DO NOT TAKE IT FOR GRANTED. i give it a 5 out of 5.

As a nerd, I'd like all the jocks to see this movie.
1 December 2000
This movie shows what it's like for us nerds, and what we have to deal with. Unfair criticism, harassment, that sort of thing. It not only showed that nerds won't just stand there and take the insults, but it was also funny. My favorite part was when Lewis said to Betty:"All jocks think about is sports. All we(nerds) think about is sex." I laughed. I laughed again. I ate my sugary cereal. I laughed yet again. This movie is a classic. 9 out of 10. 9 because it was just a little too offensive when the jocks made fun of the nerds.

The Munsters (1964–1966)
A classic sitcom of the 1960's
13 November 2000
This was a very well-written show. From the crow who aggravated Grandpa to the pet beast that lived under the stairs to broken floors and windows as a result of Herman's anger, this show had it all. Most of the 60's sitcoms weren't that cool, but this one owned all.

Tommy Boy (1995)
one of chris farley's greatest
8 October 2000
this movie is, in my opinion, a memorial of chris farley. this movie reminds us of what a great guy farley was. it also reminds us of his excellece in comedic acting. it also reminded us of how crazy he was. this movie has everything we've come to expect from farley: stupidity, clumsiness, comedy. it's a movie about how tommy callahan (farley) and a co-worker/friend richard (david spade) try to save his father's company by going on the road, selling brake pads. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND VIEWING IT.

X-Men (2000)
An excellent story of bigotry
2 October 2000
This movie followed the original comic book, that's what I liked the most. What I didn't like, is that it could've used more x-men, not just 4 bad guys and 5 or 6 good guys, and there was no Colossus. Besides that, this movie was great. Good storyline, writing, and acting. 10 out of 10. Beautiful. I'm proud.

takes the legendary story of King Arthur and turns it into a joke
2 October 2000
From the imaginary horses the knights ride, to the black knight, and to the fierce beast in front of the cave(with fangs!), Monty Python can take anything and screw it up in a good way. Who would've thought God was a big talking drawing? no one except the Python crew. The writers should be blessed with eternal power, or something nifty like that. On a scale from 1 to 10, it gets a 200,000. It's that good.

Hilarious, it shows that imginary friends aren't just kiddy things
1 October 2000
Warning: Spoilers
HA! Hilarious! The first time I saw it was on TNT, then i saw the video. The writers of this movie need a million dollars so they can write a good sequel. I quote this movie's tagline: "Dishes, relationships, wind. This guy breaks everything." Or something like that. Anyway, this movie also shows that a movie doesn't have to be serious to be funny. Drop Dead Fred did a good job of acting like a child. The part that made me laugh the most was when he ripped the doll to shreds and yelled,"MY INTESTINES!". Looking at my imaginary watch, it's a quarter to sad, and i gotta phase. Later.

The greatest of all known movies
1 October 2000
I am what you call a "star wars nerd". i love the movies, i have their merchandise, and, i can't wait for the flicks to come out on dvd, so i can make george lucas richer than ever. but my favorite one of all is "the empire strikes back". Boba fett could nuke anything cross-eyed, and in this movie, he plays a big role, so, naturally, i love it. the story was great, it was longer than "a new hope", and a smidgen better than "return of the jedi". Indeed this is the greatest of them all.
