Skithouse (2003–2004)
Rubbish
30 April 2003
I watched this show on its debut and thought it was OK. But all the shows directors and writers had done was put a good pile of the funny skits in the first show.

The second episode was so terrible I switched it off after 15 minutes. Never before had I seen utter rubbish on TV before. I decided, however, to give it another chance and have caught bits here and there since then but every single time I turn Skithouse on, it is still just rubbish.

Why are they afraid to use real names / people to parody? Why can't they say "Look! It's Dennis Lillee" rather than "Look! It's an Australian fast bowler". My view? Skithouse sucks. 1/10

Comedy Inc. (2003–2007)
Best Australian Comedy of 2003
23 April 2003
I can't believe the last person on here posted a review of this show rubbishing it. Comedy Inc is easily (only being threatened by Welcher and Welcher) the best Australian comedy show of 2003.

Finally, six years after Full Frontal ended and was replaced with the less clever humour (and probably why it was cancelled after one season) of Totally Full Frontal, we finally have a sketch comedy show not afraid to parody actual people, places, products and other television shows. The show has been cleverly written and acted, not being afraid to push the public opinion of the Australian public forward into the spotlight (the Anti-Terrorism p**s-takes, Anti-Iraq war sentiment) which shows like Skithouse have avoided.

Not only does this writing allow for many jokes to remain subtle and keep coming back to you, it allows for easy direction and acting which shows like Skithouse obviously lack. Although now slowly coming to the end of a season and running out of new ideas, it still remains far in front on other shows for being consistently funny.

I can't wait for the DVD to come out. 8/10.

Direction ahead of its time
12 November 2002
This film was confusing when I watched it, however, all was revealed at the end. Suddenly, everything fell into place and it seems that this films' directional technique was employed years later by directors like Tarintino and Ritchie.

The film doesn't run in the standard order of things, making it stand out for it's time. A good screenplay, good acting all round and not bad by any movie viewers standards.

The Dish (2000)
10/10
The best Australian movie made
3 November 2000
This movie rates well amongst my top 10. Following the success of the first Working Dog production, The Castle (1997), the team returned to write and direct this great movie. The storyline is well written with the plot being easy to follow. The class of acting in previous Australian movies may have been mediocre but in this movie, it is only first class all the way. Great performances by Sam Neill and Seinfeld's Patrick Warbuton get the viewer emotionally involved. The directing is brilliant and if you only see one more Australian movie in your life, make sure it is this one. You will not be disappointed.
