Lightweight, easy going, Cheap, but great viewing!
9 March 2003
Ok not the best film made by Norman Wisdom, but it's one of those movies that you watch late Sunday evening before returning to work!

Just a plain and simple film that sums up the entire 60's era, the clothes, the music, and the dialog!! Norman plays the hum drum banker (yes I spelt that correctly!) who plays away from home while on a business trip with noneother than Sally Geeson, a young trendy! The comedy is weak, the script poor, but this film is harmless fun, nostalgic, and a low budget British film with good locations. At least give it a chance, available as video, hunt it on ebay!

Giuseppina (1960)
Classic and memorable
26 January 2003
I agree with comments made by others here. I remember this when returning from school and watching the test transmissions on the BBC. Until recently, I've always remembered the story as clear today as when i watched it years ago. This is the television "easy listening" equivilent of music. Just enjoyable, quaint short movie. This and others are available to buy from the BP video library.

A small girl and her father who runs a BP garage in Italy is the plot. It follows an average day for them, few customers, nice scenery and little else, but great!

An absolute classic

An Absolute Classic Sci-Fi (for kids!!!!!)
20 September 2002
I remember watching this series when it was first aired many years ago - In fact while I was still at school! I find it hard to believe its for kids, as the plot is a complex one that most young kids probably would not follow. The story is father & son visit milbury, (actually its Avebury, Wilts - Not far from Stonehedge), a village surrounded by a circle of stones. Once people enter the village they cant leave! Adam brake is the scientist who saves the day.

The series was run mid 90's several times on the Childrens Channel. I managed to pick the entire series up on video a few years ago, now I want the DVD versions (somehow i dont think this will happen!!)

Catch it if you can!

As good as Teen movies get - A Classic!
20 July 2002
The film has a special meaning to me, as I was born in Stevenage and still live there today.

The film is all about the sexual exploits of a young lad who is desperate to lose his virginity. Filmed in the 60's during the permissive society days, the fashions and music are a joy to watch.

Judy Geeson plays the love interest, and during one scene strips totally naked, which caused a stir when released! Barry Evans is the lead, called Jamie. Although the plot is nothing fantastic the whole ambiance of the film is great and still fresh today - The movie never seems to date.

Long overdue for a DVD or Video release, can't believe no-ones snapped this title up for release considering its classic status. Always mentioned in movie books and articles.

Watch and enjoy, the fashions, the locations, the music and the youth of the 60's.

low budget comedy! remake
3 November 2000
The only film made by the UK comedy duo, and like Morecambe & Wise, their films never live up to the comedy they're supposed to!!! However, this low budget british made effort is very good. Based on the classic Will Hay Ask a Policeman film the plot is basically the same, smugglers and two incompetent policemen, namely Cannon and Ball. The laughs are silly and childish, like Carry On... humour but all in all an easy to watch afternoon type movie.

Low budget typical British comedy of the 70's
3 November 2000
Despite it's low ratings, this film sums up the humour and sex comedy films that appeared during the 70's. I enjoy the quick fire one liners from Tony Booth who plays the brother in law to Robin Askwiths main character, Timmy. This was the start of a run of the confession films, all had good plots if only somewhat "cheesey". I enjoy these films as it is an indication of the 70's era. Not to be taken seriously, it's just a good laughable movie, with harmless soft (very soft) nudity. Give it a go!

Classic comedy from a comic genius
3 November 2000
What a comedy! This is a movie that had me laughing from beginning to end. Even after all these years the one line gags from Will Hay are superbly timed. The movie plot about smugglers is good but all three main characters make this film a real hoot as local village policemen. I have this on video and watch it regularly if I need a laughter pick-me-up! Classic line, they need to arrest someone to prove the village needs a local bobby, Moffatt suggests Guy Faulkes, to which Will Hay replies "he's not a criminal, he invented fireworks" brilliant!

Please watch it, you'll love it.
