Bar Girls (1994)
stereotypically boring
How do you like to see the same jokes over and over again? It's not funny and the characters all talk with the same tone. It also makes lesbians seem very promiscuous which is not true for all of us. I don't think the characters are really representative of lesbians. I'd go for "Better than Chocolate" or "Gia" for a movie that portrays real human feelings and don't look like they are acting.
The Invisible Circus (2001)
illogical and boring
what a waste of time! i expected better from cameron diaz! i guess it wasn't really her fault for being in a terrible film. the film does not capture the beauty of europe.....and wasn't successful in leading the audience into suspense or wonder. weak attempt at storytelling and narrating -- dialogue is dull and wasn't able to convey what i sometimes think simplicity is beauty. no love, energy, electricity on screen. too bad!!!!!!!!1
La vie rêvée des anges (1998)
learn French!
I think one has to be able to understand French to truly appreciate this film. else if you only speak english and watch the video w/ subtitles, it's quite a bore. others may disagree, but i don't think there was any love between the lovers in the movie. it's also hard to see that the two characters truly care for eachother. perhaps that's the french culture -- you don't really have to be overt when you love someone; as long as you know, in your heart, that you have a place for him / her and vice versa.
Chuen zik saat sau (2001)
Not worth one's time.
This is an insult to movie-making. This movie tries hard to convince viewers that it has a plot, when it doesn't have one (or one that makes sense.) The competition between the two killers is not tense. The dialog is dumb also. The intent to try to enter the international film industry by combining Japanese, English, Mandarin, and (the very few) Cantonese dialogs becomes a meaningless mess.
Anyone wanting to watch a good action movie should watch Cheong Wong (double tap) instead. Or Face/Off. Or just any TV action drama will be even better than this movie.
Fucking Åmål (1998)
Tiitle says it all.....this film portrays teenager...
Tiitle says it all.....this film portrays teenagers as the way they are, unlike movies which may portray them negatively, you get the feeling that everyone in this film is not playing a role, but they are actually living, not acting.
It is wonderful, I have never seen any other film as realistic and touching as this.
