The Village (2004)
I am so mad I could Spit. Spoilers
31 July 2004
Warning: Spoilers
I'm no expert, but I don know what I like. I liked Signs, I like the Sixth Sense, I was not all that thrilled with unbreakable, but let me say this. This movie was presented as a horror story. I went to see it, believing that it was a horror movie with special effects. That is what I was led to believe. I dragged my poor husband , who promptly fell asleep in the middle of it. When the curtain came down and the movie was over, you would not believe the boos that emanated from the audience. The couple behind me were very mad and the husband said to the wife, "Next time, I pick the movie". This went on, all the way down the stairs to the exit. Not one person liked this move. Not one.

I paid good money to see a movie and I expected it to be a horror movie. I mean, in the promos, they made you believe that there were creatures in the woods and in the coming attractions William Hurt was heard to mutter "The ones we don't speak about" or some such stuff. I was all excited. I formulated the ending in my mind. Perhaps they were taken from earth and deposited on another planet. This I got from an old Outer Limites episode.

Let me say one more thing. When people who like science fictin, or horror see the coming attractions of this movie, and the promos, and then when they pay their money and it turns out that there ARE NO CREATURES, that the whole story was made up because William Hurt and the elders all those years ago, lost somebody in their life to violence and William Hurt got an idea and lo and behold, he invented an Amish like village where they don't need money and everybody gets along, well, I can't tell you how mad I was at the end. Oh, I have a question for anybody out there. Where did all the rest of the people come from? Bad, bad bad, that's all I have to say

Untold (2002)
It's called Sasquatch, not The Untold
20 March 2003
I rented this last night. I viewed it and the most annoying thing about it was the fading to a blank screen every two minutes. I thought there was someting wrong with my tv but then it got worse and it faded to a blank screen every few seconds and then it went back to normal so I figured it out that it was an effect that the movie makers put into the movie. NOT GOOD. Of course Lance, (who is one of my favorite actors) gave his usual wonderful performance. But the guy who designed the Sasquatch costume, well they either should have paid him more money or turned it over to someone else. You could obviously tell it was a body suit. They left it until the end for you to get a really good look at this sasquatch thing and then NOTHING. I mean, give me a break. Even if it was supposed to have happened exactly that way, cmon? Bad movie, bad bad bad

Control Factor (2003 TV Movie)
10/10
An absolutely amazing film
19 January 2003
This film was reminiscent of the film (I think it was called They Live) starring Rowdy Roddy Piper and the plot of that film was that aliens are controlling the thought processes of humankind by a transmitter high on top of a building. Well, in this film there aren't any aliens. This time it's our own government that is controlling our thought processing. I won't give away any plot details but I will tell you this. Whoever wrote the screenplay did a superb job. This film makes you wonder and keep guessing as to what will happen. I'm almost at the end of the film and I can't wait to get back, it's that good. So watch it on the Sci-fi channel. Enjoy -Melody

A Christmas Visitor (2002 TV Movie)
Absolutely wonderful
21 December 2002
I have just viewed this wonderful heartwarming movie on the Hallmark Channel. William Devane was so terrific as the dad and Meredith Baxter Birney was also wonderful as the mom. The younger supporting players were so moving and wonderfully portrayed their characters. I knew the ending and won't give it away here but my heart broke because my son is gone from me and I cried the whole time during this movie. God Bless all our children out there.

Taken (2002)
This is the best thing to hit SCI-FI in years.
9 December 2002
Yesterday I stayed home and watched all five episodes. That's 10 hours of tv. I was in my glory. I love everything sci-fi and I truly believe that the government has been playing cover-up since 1947. When I got to the end of part 5 and the saucer was up there and all the lights (kind of like close encounters), well, I haven't been so enthralled since the finale of the sopranos (oh yeah, I taped that sunday night). But for all you skeptics out there who do not believe in the existence of extra-terrestrials, give the following a thought: Some supposed craft crashed landed near Roswell NM in 1947, Jesse Marcel saw it, his son saw it and from my readings, some 300 people have testified that they have been threatened by the government to keep their mouths shut as to what they saw. Jesse Marcel's son, who is a physician was around 12 or 13 when this happened. A child of that age knows what he saw and knows what he remembered. But even if you don't believe any of this, I pose to you one simple thought. The government denies there is an Area 51. You can't find it on a map. But if you drive there and go on their property, they have the right to shoot to kill!!!!!!!! Now I ask you, "what the heck are they protecting that gives ANYBODY the right to shoot to kill?" They did a film on this called Hangar 18. It was supposed to be a fictious story but I'll tell you something. There is something out there in Area 51 and certain parts of the government do not want us to know about it. As yourselves why? It's all about the economy. Believe it.

Please explain the ending to me
27 October 2002
I loved this film. I saw it on cable last night and I had never seen it before. My father was a big Judy Garland fan. I went to see her at Forest Hills concert when I was 14 with my parents. Of course at that age, I was in to Rock and roll but she was terrific anyway. My question is as follows: The end of this picture has Dirk Bogarde telling her he really loves her and she tells him. Do you really mean it? I mean if you don't mean it, I'll die" And then he says, Yes, I really mean it! He goes on to explain that they fell in love at the wrong time, etc. etc. What the hell is he saying to her. Are they going to wind up together. Is he marrying her? Will she be able to raise her child with him? They left you hanging. Maybe I missed something but all she did was go on stage and sing the last song and then it said "The End" Please tell me how this movie really ended. E-mail me at ELIZ7212@aol.com. Thanks, Melody

Lost Voyage (2000 TV Movie)
This is the worst movie I ever saw.
25 May 2002
I can't get over this horrible movie. It makes no sense. It could have been a great movie. The actors weren't bad at all. I love Lance Hendrickson. He always delivers. In fact, I never missed him in Millenium or in Pumpkinhead. But what happened to the plot? They had a good assortment of flying ghosts (that was the best thing in the whole film) but again, what the hell was the plot? They never went into detail about the girl who killed her mom years ago. We never knew that she was on the ship as a kid, (it never even mentioned that fact), you had to read between the lines). Judd Nelson came off as creepy. What the hell was his connection (I understand about his parents) but nothing was explained. I cannot recommend this film at all. If you want to see an excellent scary horror movie, rent NightBreed. I must have seen this movie 10 times it's that good.

Disappearance (2002 TV Movie)
Boy what a letdown of an ending.
11 May 2002
I have only one thing to say. I watched this movie in it's entirety. No where in the actual film does Susan Dey look into the movie camera and say. My husband hasn't come back in 3 hours. That was in the previews and not in the film. Bad Bad Bad. What on earth was with that skin thing on the wall? And what happened to the kid who went walking in the desert with Harry Hamlin. And why on earth did the police guy take the inmate and build a fire and leave him. Are we supposed to assume that he traded the inmate in for the kid? They gave you a movie and they gave you NO RESOLUTION, NO ANSWERS, NOTHING. What was with the glass all over the atomic test site? What did it all mean and what the hell was with the bird flying over at the end. Are we supposed to be mind readers? Really now!!!!

The same cast is in John Wayne pic, "the Searchers"
21 April 2002
Am I the only one here who noticed that a lot of the cast members in this picture i.e. John Wayne, Ken Curtis, Hank Worden played essentially the same roles (except for name of characters) in the picture "The Searchers". I could not believe it. The other day I was watching The Horse Soldiers and I thought I was watching The Searchers. You have to see this to believe it. I actually thought The Horse Soldiers was a sequel until I checked this out on the Internet Movie Database and saw that the character names were different. This is amazing

Breeders (1986)
Worst Film
8 April 2002
I just saw this the other night on the sci-fi channel. They had the nerve to filter all the nude scenes. Now what is wrong with a woman's body. They were not doing anything porno or in anyway offensive. They were just nude. This was the stupidest film I had ever seen. The acting was absolutely the pits. I could not believe they paid these actors to do this film. I wonder if any of them acted in a film after making this one. Bad Bad Bad

Cora Unashamed (2000 TV Movie)
REGINA TAYLOR IS THE FINEST ACTRESS I HAVE EVER HAD THE PLEASURE TO SEEING ON THE SCREEN.
11 December 2000
I have just finished watching Cora Unashamed. I wish I had not waited to see it. I enjoyed it immensely. The best thing about it is the performances of Regina Taylor and Cherry Jones. I have never been so riveted to a screen in all my life and I have viewed a lot of movies. The tension between the two characters was so apparent and the weakness of the father in the family was absolutely disturbing. I commend all the actors in this fine film but most notably, Regina Taylor and Cherry Jones. I look forward to enjoying their future performances.
