Glass (2019)
Ugh... Really pooped on the landing
I liked everything except for the way everyone died. A very anticomatic moment. I wanted there to be an epic fight between unbreakable and split. But it was just very poorly done. I didn't even feel like I was watching too superheroes. It didn't even really feel like they had super strength. They're just kind of like pushing people around. I wanted a more violence out of the ending there. Everything else was fine. I just really wanted an epic fight. Which is not to be had. Even the fight where they scuffle to save the cheerleaders was very poorly done. And I had a fear that the ending would be the same. And lo and behold I am correct. I knew this movie wasn't going to end very well based on the score of the six point whatever. And sure enough the ratings never seem to be wrong. If the movie is less than a seven, then that means that something went wrong with the development of the movie. There was some thing poorly done in the movie. Whether it be the lack of a good script a good story good special effects etc. And this was no different.
Atomic Blonde (2017)
Yawn....
The fight scenes were good. But that was it. I didn't really feel for this actor character. The story was boring and I almost turned off the movie luckily the fight scenes kept me in it. The lesbian scene was disappointing. Even though the action was good because the story was pretty bad I just didn't feel for the action meaning like somebody died and I could really have cared less. Maybe it's just me but when it comes to females being the James Bond like character, they just never seem to hit the mark. Don't get me wrong I like women in action movies. But when the whole show revolves around them there's a level of unbelievability especially if a woman is skinny. But then again that shouldn't matter because you have Asian martial art movies where the Asian who is usually skinny goes against Caucasians which are usually bigger and more muscular than they are and they still win. And yes she did get seriously beat up. I don't know I'm kind of rambling on but I just didn't feel for this movie like I would for James Bond or Jason Bourne. The story of those movies are in such a way that I care for the characters. Whereas in this one I just wasn't there.
The Shining (1980)
Wasn't really scared
I decided to watch this movie for Halloween since it's considered one of the best horror movies out there. I really don't have any complaints on this movie except that it was long and there were no scary moments in it for me.
I was expecting more of the weird scary moments that you saw in the middle and kind of at the end. It would have been nice if we could have dove more into the history and background of this hotel because that was the interesting side of things. I just didn't really feel scared I didn't feel like I was watching much of a horror movie.
I will agree that everyone played their part well I just think there could have been scarier moments put into it. But then again I wouldn't really know what to consider scary since I can't remember the last time I was scared in a movie.
RRR (Rise Roar Revolt) (2022)
Best movie I've seen in a looooong time
I love movies like IP man. For the action scenes are just done right. And every hit you can just see the full connection of fist and face. This movie had me glued to the screen the entire time. I love the opening scene. Even though it's a simple plot it was just done very well. Even though you may look at some of the scenes as unrealistic, it was highly entertaining and fun to watch. I also love the fact that there was no f-bombs in this movie. These are the kind of rated r movies I like to watch and I wish society would produce more of. Just the right amount of violence and Gore to be realistic and zero to no profanity that wasn't needed.
In today's world and at least in america, we can't get a single solid action movie that goes all the way without having a billion f-bombs. And I get it it's a culture thing. But sometimes I feel like there's just too much of it. Especially throwing sex into everything. It was nice that this movie had zero sex and zero nudity and nothing raunchy.
I got bored watching pg-13's nowadays because they're they just look unrealistic. Somebody gets their throat slit like in uncharted and there's no blood anywhere. This movie was brutal and violent but in a good way that fits. None of it was over the top. Take the movie Django unchained for example. It's a good movie but there's a lot of f-bombs the blood is over the top and there's nudity. Still a good movie. But this one just really left you with the feeling of feeling good. Your favorite character is live, the characters you hate die, and it was well put together.
Avatar: The Way of Water (2022)
Eh... The lack of story makes it so I don't wanna see again.
Visuals look good. Action scenes are good. That's about it.
For me a good story means everything. I highly enjoy Terminator 2. I was engaged and is that the end of my seat. This show is better special effects than Terminator 2 does but because of the story and some of the characters they really just didn't have me hanging at the edge of my seat. I could honestly have care less if certain characters died. I felt annoyed with the kid interactions that we see so many times in lesser budgeted movies. The spider kid especially annoyed me. He is a human and he lives with both the humans and the natives but for whatever reason if you're trim is if he's been living like a Savage is entire life.
Take Jake for example. He was a human turned to Avatar and lives with the natives and yet he still maintains his sanity as a human. Maintains composure. Still has a conscience. Spider kid when he gets captured by humans goes off the rails and starts banging on the window and showing his teeth like he's some kind of beast. But he knows the cultures of both the sophisticated and the Savage. So naturally the sophisticated side should stick.
I know from experience because I lived in a third world country where you had natives mixed with those from outside of that country. If the natives only knew their native tongue and they did not know English, their culture ran deep within them and they were more to act like savages respecting no boundaries. However, the natives that new English fluently respected boundaries and were naturally more sophisticated and had an intelligence about them that far exceeded that of their natives brothers and sisters. Because of this spider's character was very unrealistic. I just didn't enjoy his character.
And like other reviewers have mentioned, there are things left hanging with the plot.
Died Suddenly (2022)
Watch it for yourself and be your own judge.
I read some one star review where the guy just started ranting about this being misinformation and that it needs to be taken down from all platforms. You know what that guy just advocated for? The destruction of the First amendment. Which means I could probably guess he's got China's leader and Hitler posted up on his wall and he prays to those people everyday.
These white fibrous clots that he claims to be fiction I would just like to say that nobody is scientifically proving that these are connected. All they are doing it is pointing out a coincidence. And anomaly that has happened only after the vaccine is rolled out. And the fact that it's only in the vaccinated individuals are we seeing these white fibrous clots. So by those observations alone one can deduce that these white clots are being caused by vaccines because that is the only variable that's consistent across the board.
Not only that but when people's careers are at stake, when people are threatened, that just goes to show that there's some truth behind what they are saying. Because a lie cannot stand on its own two feet. The truth never fears the lies. If the government fears the information that scientists and doctors and morticians are providing, that means the government is the one feeding us the LIE. Otherwise they wouldn't care what is being said. It's so easy for lies to float around but when it comes to the truth that's what ends up being hidden under the rocks.
I heard one of these guys one of these morticians on a separate podcast talk about his story and he I believe is from the UK and the government tried to have him killed in the hospital. By giving him drugs that were known to kill people like rendezvir or whatever it's called. And the nurse that came in to give him these drugs, he asked the nurse what are the side effects. And the nurse said they were safe, and the guy looked it up on his iPad and listed off the side effects that nobody would want to ever experience and declined the drug. Several others came in and try to feed him other types of drugs to help with his covid.
Halo: Contact (2022)
I really don't like little kids being the drive for a story
I've played just about every halo game. Everyone complains about the CGI. I don't see why... I felt good about it. Everyone whining about the helmet coming off, yeah I get it. I just wish he was quick to put it back on. I don't want to see master chief mostly with his helmet off. Yes it's true in the game's there is a moment where chief goes rogue but it's not over a little girl. If this is just a minor point, then I'm okay. But she better not be in the rest of the episodes. We didn't come to halo for another mandalorian and grogu moment.
Oh and captain Keyes and his daughter are not BLACK! Why can't we have characters remain true to their own. Keyes and his daughter are white! It's like making a black super man. It doesn't fit. There is already a badass sergeant general in the game who is black. And that's who I thought Keyes was when I first saw him. Just don't change the race of main characters.
What if they made doctor halsley Asian? That wouldn't be good either. Nobody likes our woke society. Please just keep the agendas out of it!!! Give other races their own badass roles instead of swapping them out for the originals. But heaven forbid we look to "white" and male with this show.
Anyways, I was generally happy with everything up until the end where he doesn't put the helmet back on and goes rogue. It's too early for him to go rogue.... Maybe my main issue is them just making this girl the main plot... Yeah that's it. I wanted her to die at the cave so we didn't have to deal with her drama.
I also read about someone complaining that the elites didn't have helmets. Yes they do. Us they have their shielded armor. That guy just doesn't know halo. But there was a moment where the elite plowed a car over and it's like the vehicle flipped in the opposite direction than how it should've flipped
Also I expected at least 1 elite to die with the heavy mounted machines guns. So that was a little unrealistic to the games. Only when cheif uses the heavy machine gun does it do anything.
The Book of Boba Fett (2021)
C'mon Disney
This could have been good. The only good episode was 5. The finale, the only good part was the rancor. Too much corny and slow moments and boring scripts. Boba Fett is supposed to be a bad A, but he's just pathetic. Can barely fight. I just want a good story to come out of these things. I skipped most the episodes cause they were dumb.
The King's Man (2021)
Eh....
The first was GREAT! The second really sucked. But at least it tried to stay with what worked in the first. This one didn't even feel like kingsmen. Hardly any action. Story was eh... I mean sure it was entertaining, but I was waiting for a wow moment. And never got one. Only two good fight scenes. The one with the Russian gay guy, and the boss leader. But even the ending of that boss fight was not what I was hoping it would be. I really wish these movie people could replicate their successes and build upon it. Instead of coming up with something that makes you feel nothing.
Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice (2016)
This was seriously good
When it came out and I heard the bad reviews I vowed never to watch this garbage. And then I watched the justice league and got more garbage. Batman wasn't living up to his name in my opinion. And then Zach Snyder's cut of the Justice League came out.... Holy smokes what a turn around! The beginning of that new JL movie showing the end of BvS left me curious to look up this BvS movie again. I saw that a bunch of people were leaving it with 10/10 for the extended cut. So I figured I'd give it a shot to clarify the new JL. And oh boy this was good! Not sure what the differences are between the original and extended, but I enjoyed every moment of this movie. And Batman had some dope scenes.
Biggest complaint, the actor for lex luthor is more of a Joker character and doesn't fit Lex Luthor at all. And whenever I see batman in the mask, his face looks fat and then I am thinking of him as fat. And the flash, yes I know he's not in here, but he doesn't act like flash or look like him. Nor is there supposed to be this huge age gap between him and everyone else.
Run Hide Fight (2020)
Pretty decent
One of the kids in here looked like blake from key and peele substitute teacher skit. I thought it was good for what it was. A school shooting. A one time watch for sure. Just like the joker movie. I liked how they didn't hold back on killing anyone. If they did, and made it pg-13 then this would truly suck. I think the messaged portrayed in this is to point out the flaws in the schools system when things like this happen. This could have gone bad. Everyone could've died because of the schools protocol. If it were me, I'd be breaking windows too to get out. Stay by the door with a chair to bash the head in of the intruder etc
Wonder Woman (2009)
Loved this movie
My only criticism, I wish it were longer :( wonder woman is the best! However, that new movie in 2020 was a bore to behold. This animated one brings out the awesomeness of WW
Terminator: Dark Fate (2019)
Watched it for the action
I love the first two terminator movie. I have held back from watching this cause everyone said it takes a dump 💩 on the first two. Yes that's true. Thankfully there weren't really a ton of slow moments. Otherwise this would have really sucked. Imagine taking the 2nd movie and making it all about women, and now it's their turn to shine. That's what made this suck. Arnold didn't really feel like a terminator. He felt more human. The boyish looking girl grace has an unnecessary hate for Sarah for like 5 minutes. That kinda felt out of place. I skipped parts to get back to the action.
So it's like combining 1 and 2, replacing the guys with girls, watered down Arnold, and watering down the epicness the first two had. And that's where this is at. Because they pooped on john Conner, I give the plot a 1/10. But I did like the action so that's why it's a 6.
The script was fine, it just wasn't anything memorable. I felt dani's character had some corny "we can do this guy's! Follow me I have a plan! Let's make our last stand right here!" And then everyone just gives up running and are like "okay". I guess they needed to wrap things up lol
Spies in Disguise (2019)
I normally don't watch movies below a 7
When I saw the commercial, I was excited. When I saw the score on IMDb, I got un excited. My sister watched it. She liked it. My Dad decided to watch it and I was like "I'll give it a shot, and if it's as dumb as the rating has depicted it to be, I'll walk out" and well, the rating was wrong. I would say this should be a 7.4 and above. To put things in perspective, the last starwars movie was a 6.9 or something around there. I thought it sucked. The story sucked, and I was totally disconnected with the characters and palpatine coming back was stupid. Especially the way he died. I liked the first wonder woman. And this second one was the worst sequel to a movie I had ever seen. It was a 5.4 or something. (I warned my family and no one listened so we watched it and found out the 3 hour long hard way)
Anyways, I thought this movie was good all around. It had a good mix of everything. I'm giving it a 10 simply to balance out the negative reviews. And because it deserves a good score.
Deathstroke Knights & Dragons: The Movie (2020)
Pretty dull
It was decent I guess. The dialogue was awful. This family aspect put too much drama in it. Deathstroke seemed like a dad that can't handle his own family.
Crank (2006)
One of the worst movies I have ever seen
I wanted to watch a cool action movie. I had low expectations for this on the plot. But I guess they weren't low enough to match the type of show this is. Pointless. I did expect there to be some epic action scenes but there werent any. They were simple. I found myself skipping through most of the show desperately looking for a cool action moment but I just didn't feel like this movie drew me in.
Death to 2020 (2020)
Not that funny
I watched half of it and then stopped. There was one funny moment that I laughed at. The F-bombs killed it. It wasn't super funny to begin with, but the F-bombs really took away from whatever funny moments there could've had. There's not a ton. But every time one is dropped it ruins the moment.
Jackson was okay. The black lady has a good character, but her negativity ruins the moment. It's like negativity in an upbeat personality.
I've seen funny bashes on Trump, but these were none of them.
Almost felt like a comedy that favored mocking more of the right and the left was hardly mocked in the first half I saw.
Soul (2020)
Sooooo good
I watched wonder woman 1984 the night before. That was a huge waste. But luckily i was redeemed by this masterpiece. Good deep story. No flaws. And I'm highly critical of the movies I watch.
Sonic the Hedgehog (2020)
Had low expectations, but it came out better
Normally I don't like watching shows less than a 7. But my family insisted on this one so I got it. I must say Jim carrey made this show. Normally movies below a 7 I expect something weak out of it. Either cheesey moments or bad acting or bad plot or flow (like the last star wars movie). It wasn't a perfect movie. But it was entertaining. If Jim carrey wasn't in this, then I would've rated it lower. The movie wasn't bad, and it wasn't inspiring like inception, but it fell in that middle ground. It was worth watching once.
Joker (2019)
Pretty good
For a movie overall? Yeah it was pretty good and well made. No complaints on the content or the acting. I'm giving it an 8 because for being a "joker" movie based on all the other Batman joker movies I've watched, it's a different type of joker character. This one is more of a special needs joker with a condition. The one I'm used to is more of a pure insanity joker. Where he became the joker because he was playing the part of "the red hood" and falls into a chemical waste and his skin becomes permanent white bleached. Not needing to do makeup everyday.
So yeah, a good joker performance, but as an origin story, I was expecting something different. Less of a chronic disease type of a thing
Bumblebee (2018)
Just another transformer movie
I liked that it was a prequal to everything, but once again I feel that the human roles in these movies absolutely suck. Cheesy acting and they always wanna "help" and be apart of it when they really can't do a ton. Not all of it was cheesy but it had it's moments. I liked the first one, because they actually needed the human. But after they got rid of the main character, or after that first one, the human roles have not been on point.
Loved the transformer scenes! But that's about it. Almost felt like this one was too close to be like the very first one just with less Optimus prime
