Restored by the Fords (2016)
Wrecked by the Fords is more like it.
This is awful. "Most peple would come in and rip everything out and make it look like a blankety blank catalog" she says at the outset. They took an almost original 1958 mid century modern house and turned it into a generic catalog house. Episode 1. This house had a beautiful brick fireplace. She paints it white. They had a big, original tile and double (blue) sink house and same tile, different color, in the kitchen. She rips it all out. Puts in white hexagon tile, and (so original- sarcasm font) bigger hex tile on the walls and the already dated 2016 trend- the freestanding, high-sided tub. Instead of fixing the original pink wall oven, she rips it out. Hexagon Puts in a generic one. Rips down the paneled wall between the living room and kitchn to "open up the space." How clever. Why is it called "Restored" with the Fords? Is it a joke? It is possible to leave your original things in place and just clean, fix them, repair, or replace them in-kind, vintage homeowners. Don't let HGTV fool you. It's really a shame. Feel sorry for the owners who had to pay for this.
Little House on the Prairie: I Remember, I Remember (1978)
Memorable.
When Charles Ingalls
was a kid,
You should have seen the
things he did;
He looked exactly like his son.
But how could he? Albert's the
adopted one.
