After Life (2019)
No plot
Never seen a show with less plot then than this. I rarely rate anything a 1 star and leave a review. I only have for shows who have absolutely no redeeming qualities about them. The comedy in this show is absolutely cringe. I mean seriously the sex jokes madd my head hurt from cringe. The acting is absolutely horrible and the characters are all bland. If you want a show with bland characters and bland dialogue this is it for you. Literally nothing happens here. What it is is a whole lot of nothing that is jammed backed into 3 seasons. The cinematography was also horrible. The editing, lighting, and camera angels were just as bad as the writing.
Barry: wow (2023)
Good ending but very rushed
The last season is by far the worst in terms of quality the only thing carrying it is the ending.
It was some rushed to the point that it birthed a plot hole that I will explain. What happened to Hanks man power? This guy was backed by Chechens they literally should be his muscle right? I mean early in the final season he had a squad with Cristobal and he betrayed them because he knew that the squad manpower would be inferior to Chechens man power, also keep in mind this squad is about double the amount of people Fuches had. So why doesn't he use his muscle against Funches? Did something happen to make them stop fully backing Hank ? Did they get weaker ? There is no explanation at all. Instead Fuches is made to be way more superior than hank to the point Hank offers a compromise. I mean just how is Hank that inferior to someone who just got a prison. The guy has spent the last 8 years building an empire just for him to have no muscle at all? What happened to him being backed by the Chechens he feared? I mean there was no explanation as to why Hank wasn't using them. He was just hiring someone so called "specialist" that got destroyed. The time jump also came out of nowhere. They should have made the time jump happen in a new season (Season 5). While watching the time skip I was hoping that it wasn't real and it was just a some kind of dream Barry was having. It was so out of place. Overall I would rate it a 5/10 because I loved the ending itself but didn't like the climax of it. Very underwhelming and rushed.
Snowfall: The Struggle (2023)
Good ending horrible climax
The show was very good and enjoyable I just had one issue, that being the climax that led to Franklin conclusion. The climax I am speaking of is Cissy killing Teddy. Now this doesn't mean I dislike the conclusion itself. I liked Franklins character conclusion a lot which is why I am rating it a 5, despite highly disliking the climax. I just found it nonsensical with the way it happened. The way Cissy saint killing Teddy was just lazy writing. I will give a detailed explanation as to why I think that.
Worst mother of the decade she screwed her son so hard in the dumbest way possible and the justification of it made my brain hurt. She literally is the definition of a hypocrite. I literally don't understand how she thinks what she did is saving her son. I mean seriously how does she think her useless sacrifice is helping her son out? Her reasoning for not allowing Franklin to have the money is stupid because it gets heavily contradicted in the same episode which I will explain later. So you are telling me after all this time she finally decides to kill Teddy? It had to be at that exact moment where she finally decided to be the hero. As soon Franklin was at his lowest she back stabs him. When Franklin was at his highest she had no problem quitting her job and using his money for real estate and the shelter. Her flip flopping earlier or in the midway point would have made sense. Flipping sides when her son was vulnerable is proof she is a selfish hypocrite. Now my issue isn't with her killing Teddy, it's her not wanting Franklin to have his money. Key word his. She also somehow thinks by killing teddy in front of high ranking CIA official in broad daylight , is the best day to save her son. And to make matters worse she goes in a court room and starts snitching about the CIA. I mean did she not learn from her husband death? They easy killed that man and she wants to start yelling about the CIA secrets. She is just putting more danger towards her son. Killing Teddy after he transferred the money was all she had to do. He was Ex CIA so they didn't care much about him. But yelling about the CIA selling cocaine to its own people is asking for trouble. They can easily have her and her son killed. By doing this she is just adding more risk to her sons life who can't do nothing about it because he's broke, due to his mother's selfish actions. She was dumb enough to actually believe Teddy didn't kill her husband and once he informed her he was lying she made an irrational decision. She lucked out that the CIA didn't do anything towards her or her son cause of her irrational actions. Franklin is the guy to thank for that because he gave up the Russian agent which caused the CIA not to throw Franklin in a cell or worse be killed. She left him broke and alone cause of her selfish actions.
Now onto the contradiction of her actions. During the finale when she talks to Leon, Leon says he will start funding the homeless shelter and Cissy praises him for it. Which makes no sense cause last I checked, that money is blood money that she didn't want Franklin laying his hands on. How is okay for Leon to use cocaine money but not Franklin? Does she think Leon money
just grows on trees? Just like Franklin, Leon killed, and committed many crimes to earn his money. She hates that Franklin sells cocaine to his own people, but doesn't bat an eye when Leon does it? I mean she was speaking to him like he was Mr. Rogers. Seriously lazy writing. According to Cissy it's okay for Leon to use that blood money, but god forbid Franklin from using the money. While talking with Leon She essentially admits she was selfish and irrational. "I did the only thing I could possibly do and still live with myself." This proofs that she was only thinking about her self and not Franklin. I mean she couldn't wait five seconds? You are telling me that in her mind her killing Teddy before he could give Franklin the money was the only action she can live with? Leaving Franklin without his own money is the action she deemed best? You are telling me she waited until Franklin amassed a fortune to let him know the money is "bad" for him. It's like I said she had no problem with it before. Gracefully spending his money on the shelter and real estate. I just don't understand at all how she thinks this noble sacrifice of hers helped Franklin. I mean Leon tells Franklin that she did it to keep everyone safe but how is not allowing Franklin is have his own money keeping people safe. It was clear as day he was going to use that money for investments not cocaine like Leon who she praises like he is Mr. Rogers. Also want to add that the CIA never cared about the money, they literally told Teddy to give the money back after Franklin killed Teddys dad. They just wanted the Russian agent that's it. All she had to do was wait for the money to be transferred. Meaning this was a selfish choice and she deluded herself into thinking she did what was best for Franklin. Overall a good conclusion. Just the build up to it was a bit lazy.
The Sopranos (1999)
10/10
Easy 10 out of 10 one of the best shows of all time only issue I had was the ending not fully concluding aspects of story. Ending was 10/10 I liked the happy ending and song was perfect Many good characters in the show and acting was amazing. This is now my 2nd fav show in front of the wire which was previously my 2nd 10/10.
BoJack Horseman: The View from Halfway Down (2020)
One of the Best episode in all of media
This episode is just genius the suicide awareness is portrayed in a thought provoking way but yet realistic poem. The overall message in this episode is just something so inspiring and amazing. Bojack horseman is a amazing character.
Inception (2010)
Amazing story
Amazing concept and intriguing story. The story revolves on the concept of dreams and has a interesting subtle point of view on it. I enjoyed the movie a lot only reason I'm not giving it a ten was because I didn't like the lead female char. But other than that amazing storyline and unique plot.
Spider-Man (2002)
Best from the trilogy for me
It's either Spiderman or spiderman 2 as the best spiderman movie for me. This movie has a good antagonist and we see Petter Parker amazing development from his uncles deaths. Him finding himself as a person and a hero was amazing. Once he forms his ideology he constructs it on external factors we see his Display of his morality and heroism though green Globin.
The Amazing Spider-Man (2012)
More of Romance story with a Aggressive petter Parker
This movie is decent but bad compared to the first spiderman movie, the petter Parker (Andrew) in this movie isn't as implicit and intriguing as the one in the originally one he doesn't show emotions well and he is bland. Even his reaction to uncle bens death was bad Nd his development from it wasn't as intriguing as the original one. Second thing is his motives were really never sent out clear like the original one. They should have developed him into his ideals after his uncles death. But instead he spends half the serious with Gwen and looking for his dads killer. His relationship with Gwen was weird the way he reveals himself to her just ruins his character and his heroism aspect we know Spiderman knows with the suit comes Enemies. They just entirely ruin his interal conflict but him revealing himself so early on.(this is also before he captures his uncles killer) I know they wanted to change some things up but there are somethings you can't change if you change them it isn't spiderman I was fine with them changing up the way uncle Ben died (Didn't like it but was fine with it)But the way he handles it and doesn't really develop of it. Just didn't make no sense his interal conflict just isn't there. This story was more of a romance story than a action/superhero one. Andrew (spiderman)His reaction to Gwens dad death was good. That's when he finally developed but like I said he should have developed from his uncle death instead of this late. His sense of questions through social moral dilemmas. Instead they just make his character feed off external factors through romance. This is the part when I mean he's bland. The ending Dissatisfied me with Petter never finding his dads killer. That's literally the first instance where petter finds out what type of character he wants to play behind the mask. His internal conflict of revenge and anger can be seen though his contrast of morality but instead they introduce a villain who he has little to no dialogue with. Off the cliffhanger I hope they execution his development well onto number 2. I was disappointed with Number 1 and hope Number 2 is better.
There's Someone Inside Your House (2021)
Bad acting and execution
The acting was just bad from start to finish the friend group was just even worse the story started off good but the acting was bad .The friend group is a wannabe be "Woke" group But all the did was just use Stereotypes that had no correlation for example one of friends in the group said the police sheriff was the one behind the crime and wants to blame it on a black person so he can keep his job. But this literally makes no sense cause they were interviewing even white people and not just certain races. Like they all interviewed them at the same tone .This is also what I mean by bad execution. They really didn't have a main theme they wanted to portray so they added nonsense just to have it I guess. Then it's just how unrealistic the way the killer gets away. I'm thinking a fourth grader wrote this book I mean are cameras not a thing and are there not enough police officers this man was literally in a school and killed someone and somehow got away ? Keep in mind this school was know to have the killer in it .You would think the cameras would catch him. But this isn't even the worse part in his second victim .He pretends to be someone this girl originally intend to go to a church with. But once she finds out while she's on the phone with the dude she originally wanted to go with she hangs up on him while a dude in a mask with a knife in her hand is standing in front of her. Why didn't she tell him to call the cops or why didn't she call them him self instead she try's to tell the killer her video was satire (The video was her secret the killer idealogy was to expose them and kill them)She then finally decides to call 911 after she was stabbed but that obviously doesn't turn out great. But the worst of the worst was the killer reveal. He was someone in the "woke " friend group who had actually made a secret party before his reveal. Which make it kind of obvious it was him. But when he was revealed this man had the worse dialogue I seen in a antagonist. His reasoning also made zero sense talking about wanting to reveal people's mask and he did this because he was privileged ? Him killing people legit contradicts his reasoning tho. The dude was legit a wannabe joker with is dialogue he sounded too hard to sound woke but really he was just a privileged kid. Who's made cause he has it all? Like I generally don't get this reasoning but yeah bad execution bad acting which caused every character to be bland. Overall 1/10 I forced my self to finish this also lots of stuff was left out unexplained which I don't mind but the switch over from the antagonist conclusion to the ending was also another example of bad writing.
Boruto: Naruto Next Generations: Ikenie (2021)
Amazing transformation
10/10 episode the only reason it's at 9.9 is cause lots of childish people don't want to see boruto on top so they spam 1S which is why you see most of the negative ratings being 1 amazing episode and transformation.
Kaubôi bibappu: Cowboy Bebop: The Real Folk Blues: Part 2 (1999)
Spike amazing character conclusion
A good conclusion to the story and spikes character what I liked a lot about is the symbolism shown in this finale. Spikes fake eye is covered in blood in the fight while his real eye wasn't symbolizing that he accepts the present. Another thing is how bright the area was symbolizing spike has awoken. When he says Bang! His right eye (fake one ) was opened showing that he sees the past and that's his response. He wants to burry it and wake up.
Prison Break (2005)
My favorite Tv show
Season 1 is just amazing I mean just of the first episode only. Michael Scofield is a amazing character once in the end of episode 1 I seen how Michael had tattooed a map of the prison on his body I knew he was going to be one of my favorite characters the suspense on this show is unmatched season 1 was so enjoyable. But it does get a little worse by each season but season 1 and 2 were top tier.later seasons were good but not as good as first two but this is a easy ten for me. Michael Scofield planing just makes him so like able and he's also a caring person which is a bouns.
Go-Toubun no Hanayome (2019)
Amazing
One of my favorite and more enjoyable romance anime's the premise of this plot is Intriguing and I like seeing the growth of the characters throughout the series enjoyable show highly recommend.
Fairy Tail (2009)
Very enjoyable
One of my favorite series and very enjoyable, I was surprised to find out it's very hated. Lots of people hate on it for its themes of Friendship but I find it very implicit and subtle, Fairy tail is one of the those anime's with many emotional moments. We see amazing character dynamics between nastu and gray, Nastu zeref Etc. Fairy tail takes its themes and pushes it very well in the narrative we see a strong sense of unity and friendship in the guild and it makes you feel emotionally connected to it. Another aspect I like is the transformations very enjoyable series highly recommend.
JoJo no Kimyô na Bôken: King of Kings (2019)
Clash of ideals
Giorno and diavolo have different prospectives of fate, Giorno hated the mafia for affecting the lives( fate ) of others through the selling of drugs, while Diavolo sees it as a way to control/manipulate people, showcasing that the concept of fate to diavolo is something that can be controlled and manipulate by the strong. Diavolo sees him self as above fate shown by his stand and actions being able to escape the concept of fate it self, while Giorno sees fate as something that is unavoidable, but something that should be accepted this is shown through GER, their battle is a battle of ideals Diavolo belief of fate is something that can be changed, while Giornos belief is fate is something that is absolute, Giorno wins the fight because no one is above fate, fate is unavoidable it's something you have to accept whether you like it or not and if you try escaping your fate it will lead to a greater misfortune which is shown through the Infinte death loop. Golden experience requiem is the embodiment of fatalism.
Ashita no Jô 2: The Great End (1981)
Joe yabuki pure ash
Joe yabuki conclusion is amazing no of the best I seen we see a end to his inspiring and amazing character journey we see lots of themes in his conclusion we see a sense of realism on punch drunk syndrome. Throughout the story the narrative makes a lot of reference to joes passion and will for boxing as a flame , when he talks to noriko he says "until all that remains is pure ash there is no embers left just pure ash" this is foreshadowing for this moment, but also shows Joe passion for boxing is a burning flame but can a burning flame burn forever ? No When a flame burns out what happens, it turns to white ash the panel is white and so is joes hair symbolism the end of his flame and essence in life, The fire in Joe is gone and burned up until it turned into ash, showcasing joe is white ashes, the panel also showcases him alone and doesn't show anyone else showcasing that joes alone, the reason Joe is smiling is because he ended his life doing what he loved the most boxing until his burning flame turned into ash, nothing else matter to him but boxing.
Naruto: Shippûden: The Tale of Jiraiya the Gallant (2009)
Amazing conclusion
Amazing Char conclusion for jiraya we see subtle but very thought provoking conclusion, his last words being "The tale of Naruto Uzamaki" Him giving his sequel a name on a tale of a ninja name Naruto who seeks to bring peace to the corrupted shinobi world. Inspired by Nagato will this is symbolic to Nagato and Narutos parallel and brings a subtle meaning to their parallel. Naruto and Nagato both wish to bring peace . Pain believes the world is stuck in a cycle of hatred this is where his philosophy is born he believes if everyone were to experience the same destruction and loss. People won't fight each other anymore and peace will come. He believes humans can build connections if they all face the same pain. But we see Naruto not have his own idealogy for peace and a way to break the cycle of hatred. After Pain tells Naruto his ideology, Naruto is left speechless and tells pain you can't fight hate with hate. That's when we see a character defying moment from Naruto we see Narutos hypocrisy, Naruto tells pain you can't fight hate with hate but then relies on kurma to fight pain (a beast of hatred ) We see Naruto prove pains philosophy. After Naruto defeats pain Naruto forms his idealogy he decides to take the whole world's pain on himself he wants to burden everything to himself for the sake of peace. He decides to bring peace with unity and friendship.
