A Dream Is a Wish Your Heart Makes: The Annette Funicello Story (1995)
A tribute to a wonderful lady
Like many people, I grew up "Loving" Annette Funicello. This wonderul movie has so many treats besides her biography. It depicts life in the 50's in Hollywood - Walt Disney's discovery of Annette, the making of the Mickey Mouse Club, a young Paul Anka, Frankie Avalon, and later Frankie Avalon & Shelly Fabares playing their adult selves. Most of all, the film has such "heart" and is so moving & inspiring as Annette discovers and deals with her MS disease. Hopefully soon the film will go to DVD and some or all of the profits will help with the fight of this disease. If you are lucky enough to catch it on TV - tape it!!
The Sum of Us (1994)
Wonderful film that deals with relationships
A wonderful film about humanity! Performances & writing are outstanding. It deals with sex, relationships, beliefs & the willingness (or unwillingness) to "change". It does with this humor throughout. Plus it features Russell Crowe in a "pre-stardom" performance.
A Chorus Line (1985)
Great dancing
The movie contains some great dancing and one creative original number not in the Broadway Show. However, I will never be able to forgive Attenborough for "throwing away" the song What I Did For Love. It was reduced to a quick 2:20 and simply rushed through as if it had to be there and "lets get it over with".
