Ruby Gillman, Teenage Kraken (2023)
This is extremely average work by Dreamwork studio.
First off the characters are not a Kraken, they look like fishes. Living on land with normal human like anatomical physical composition.
If that's not enough to convince even the youngest of viewers, the fact that they live exactly like human and act and behave like human is extremely disturbing.
If you can sit through 128mins of complete waste of time then I guess you can also go through others terrible movie like She Hulk.
Ruby Gillman is fine. Its a coming of age animated film with light action and that's about it. Nothing about it is particularly special, notable, or worth seeking out. The animation is kinda pretty if only for its emphasis on fluidity and I can see the idea behind it- this feels like of those Dreamworks shows that was supposed to have a Netflix spin-off.
Pluto (2023)
Sadly Pluto didn't get enough launch from Netflix!!
Sadly Pluto didn't get enough launch from Netflix, so we are seeing very little coverage in the Media. Despite Pluto being the first major adaptation of a widely acclaimed manga. Based on the manga by award-winning creator Naoki Urasawa, is excellent.
Of course I didn't realise it was based on Astro boy and that there would be soo much AI topic in this one.
However I was intrigued by it. Animated series would delight in expanding: any actual action or combat between robots.
As well as the full emotions a robot with such intelligent AI could show.
Which bring you closer to all the characters even robots.
Gamera: Rebirth (2023)
This is surprisingly very good. Sure it is aim at kids, but there is plenty for adults to chew on.
The series will focus on Gamera facing off against five different Kaiju.
I know the plots and other elements aren't deep compared to other genre.
Whatever they plotte was just great. We have three childhood friends who want to make sure that no matter how far apart they are , they're always gonna be together. The bond between Joe and Boko was the most intriguing one. We are told how Joe's little brother and mom died while he was in grade school and how his dad spiraled into depression forcing Joe to work as a paper boy to pay off their debts. Character development was also unique in the case of sea weed hair from Eustace.
Plus there is also for adults, especially to those who believe in conspiracy. Such as the Foundation organisation and how they could seen as modern day 1%. Who controls a lot of things like WEF. Wants to wipe humanity out of this planet and have a great RESTART. While they are completely in charge.
Lots of little cookies 🍪 in this one.
Proximity (2020)
Is a good movie if you can ignore Politics agenda of religion zealous view.
Thoughtful, serious-minded and filled with visual delights, sci-fi fans of all ages should have a blast.
Why is it that someone important in the past wouldn't be of interest to Aliens and maybe they just want to know how human minds work.
Never make a movie about religion or politics". This would have got MUCH better ratings if they had not used the "J" word. Crying Shame :( Highdee Kuan was excellent, she is still young but I can see her becoming an "A" listed Hollywood Star within the next 10 years.
This movie was a bit like those ironically cool sci-fi movies from the 80s
Honestly just ignore the reviews and even ratings.
Bleach: Sennen Kessen-hen (2022)
Probably one of THE BEST if not the best anime ever out there
The anime is out of this world. Every episodes is like the final episode of some of the best Anime out there.
The artwork is untouchable. Is 3rd ranked in myanime website, rated over 250k anime lovers.
Is a mix genre with some old ninja and samurai style. With added mysterious enemy bands in the plot.
Despite it's flaws (annoying fillers, inconsistent power level of some characters before Full arc, characters with wasted potential etc).
The rest was extremely satisfying. Episode 7 and 8 is probably where you could truly see the full potential and hidden plot to confirm your suspicion.
This is the final series or will be for the franchise.
There are earlier series if you would like to explore it a bit further. However it isn't need. This is probably the most satisfying series and can stand alone.
The Wilds (2020)
Is a teenage girls drama.
There is not much new to this series or add anything to the genre. Is really just teenage girls issues.
They killed the only Asian in the show in first episode and there was some new drama and reveals but in the end. They weren't even worried about being in the wilds. It was all their issue they had from their schoold.
Cosmic Sin (2021)
Anyone who gave this more than 1, must like incompetent movies makers having a chance.
There is very little quality in this film, Bruce Willis had less than 20 total minutes of screen time. As other reviewer's have mentioned. This has also made the resource in other areas completely neglected. Little development went in and only a few minutes of CGI sequence look good. However neither is Bruce the save grace here.
In reality they could have made a better film without Bruce and been a lot more enjoyable.
Kingdom (2019)
Watched the first season and the 2md season will blow you out of the water!!
Yes, just as I said the first season was great, they mix the horror with politics and many clans vying for power.
This continues in the 2nd season but the stake got much higher and the story more interesting.
Sometimes it surpasses any of the Hollywood movies and even in a tv series it was much more enjoyable.
Kidou Senshi Gundam: Tekketsu no Orphans (2015)
More mature Gundam
I just feel this series had the main characters in a bigger struggle than the other series. As the name suggested they are mostly from orphan backgrounds or situations and found together and be counted. There is certainly more struggle and risk involved.
This made their achievements even more significant.
Brick (2005)
Probably one of the most simple movies I have ever seen.
I couldn't get over that these were high school kids who in no shape, way, or form acted like high school kids. I realize the intent was to have them speak in the dialogue similar to other film noir movies, but I couldn't get past it. It felt like a school play and people reciting their lines. I think the Director has a very limited skill to bring out the best in their actors.
Iron Fist (2017)
The lead actor was worst than Anakin Skywalker
I liked it, but let's be honest. It was cheesy. The clichés, poor character development, lack of complexity, and the cheesy love story and dialogue, made me think this show is just meh. I got sick of hearing that Fin actor saying he was the iron fist. Oh god, WE GET IT. You're special. Bad actor this Fin guy. Sorry but the critics were pretty on-point with their reviews. It's not complete and utter sh1t or anything, but it's really not a well made show. The main character is flat. I've got 30 minutes left in the series, I've watched 570 minutes of this poo, and I have no idea why Danny Rand is in New York, or why he cares about anything. Why did he forsake his duty and his vows? Makes no flecking sense. Finn Jones can't fight, can't play fight, doesn't know kung-fu, Tai Chi, or Chi Gung, and doesn't have the emotional range to carry of a leading character.
