Power: Exactly How We Planned (2020)
So frustrating
This episode, and the last few episodes of this final season other than the episodes focused on Tommy and Dre, have all been extremely poor for what was one of my favourite shows. The idea to present the story in a non chronological order and then put all the jigsaw pieces together in the final episode was good in theory but the execution was beyond poor. The outcome was obvious to most people and there wasn't enough twists and turns to sustain interest in the 'who killed ghost' story. In the end, the narrative just felt jumbled and unfulfilling, with this final episode being an unmitigated disaster. The first 20 minutes especially were borderline unwatchable, with CONSTANT camera cuts and the main factor driving the story being someone's phone buzzing and filling them in on the plot they needed for it to make some sense. The episode picked up when Ghost became more involved, but this episode was nowhere near as fulfilling as it should have been. It was obvious that Tariq was going to be the one to kill Ghost, and that Tasha would be the one who would go to prison for it. The way the storyline got to this was a jumbled mess personally, it could have been done so much better. The last part of S6 has lessened the impact of Ghost's death, and has just numbed the series as a whole. It should have been done so, so much better. Meh.
Power: It's All Your Fault (2020)
Brothers in arms
The perfect end to Tommy's story. Excellent episode and intriguing to see what happens next
Power: King's Gambit (2019)
Season defining episode
The beginning to the final season of Power has been strong and has set up lots of different plot elements. This episode brought even more plot elements into the scenario and was absolutely magnificent, non stop drama. This sets up the rest of the season to be hopefully the strongest in this tv show yet. The amount of things that this episode fit into an hour is nothing short of unbelievable. Electrifying from beginning to end, hopefully this momentum continues
