Yes, Giorgio (1982)
Just a nice recall
The movie was a whole silliness, but it was when I for the first time heard the aria 'Nessun dorma' and loved it. So, only for that I was somewhat indulgent with my rating.
Dark Angel (2000)
Several common points with the comic "Cybersix"
Cybersix is a comic book series published in 1991, written by Carlos Trillo and drawn by Carlos Meglia. The plot is about a girl genetically modified, who survived an attempt to eradicate her, wears a leather suit and battles against evil biological weapons... sounds like something I read above.
Indeed, Trillo and Meglia made a lawsuit against Cameron and the Fox Company, accusing them of plagiarizing their creation. But finally that was a David vs Goliath matter.
Gruz 200 (2007)
Balabanov plagiates Faulkner
The film states that it is based in a true story, but having read some years ago Faulkner's novel 'Sanctuary', I noted almost from the starting some similarities... and recalling the novel I concluded that these similarities are indeed a direct copy, changing only time, place, names and little more.
I think Balabanov searched something obscure enough to reflect (correctly or not) a very dark image of the last Soviet period, he thought about Faulkner novel, didn't achieve the rights to incorporate the story within his film, but finally decided to go on, uncrediting the source.
He only added macabre details as the boyfriend's corpse (in part to justify the title 'Cargo 200', and to make the plot more disgusting, in case anyone kept any doubt about the evil spirit of the era).
So, it is not 'loosely inspired', it is a direct 'uncredited homage', it do not seems an historical picture but rather an horror movie.
