Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull (2008)
Classic Hero returns with style!
I was expecting a disaster but was surprised how perfect it actually turned out to be. The cinematography - same as before. The amount of action and humor. References to the Lost Arc, old characters returning. Jeez, what more would you demand! This is a dish served perfectly by S.Spielberg, G.Lucas and J. Kaminski to the fans. The recently made Star Wars 1-3 where disappointments but not with the fourth Indiana Jones! It is a rare occasion when you watch a newcomer to the franchise and it delivers so you get an tear to your eye! Well worth the wait and why are you reading these stupid 10 row reviews - go see it already! 10 out of 10.
Hotel Room (1993)
Beautiful and filled with mysteries. Only for TP and Lynch fans..
A very good trilogy of short stories that take place in a hotel room, during 40's and 90's. The second story is not directed by D.Lynch and you as a lynch fan will notice it right away. The first one is very good but the last story takes the price. Very classic Lynch directing. We see the characters many times from a mirror reflection, gives us the "watching" mood as in Blue Velvet and Twin Peaks. The story is dark and very moody. Angelo Badalamentis work haunts in the background. Just beautiful. Recommended. 9 out of 10!!
On the Air (1992)
Strange and very funny comedy..
After Twin Peaks, I heard that there was one more TV series out there that David Lynch and Mark Frost had made. I was lucky do find the "On The Air" series on a used VHS cassette and was really happy to have picked this one up. It includes strange directing and humor(!?) Angelo Badalamenti is making the music to On The Air as well. You can directly recognize it! If you have the luck of finding the series on VHS or Laserdisk, don't hesitate to pick it up! Recommended!!
Hotaru no haka (1988)
A masterpiece..
Well, what can I say that everybody else have not alrady mentioned. It is just a masterpiece. One of the very best anime pictures in my book.
Twin Peaks: Fire Walk with Me (1992)
Dark, scary and tragically beautiful.
The opening 15 minutes are just beyond all what I have seen on films. It is just so well balanced. Many said that they wanted a lot more from Twin Peaks motion picture. More answers where wanted. Well, just as in the series-find you're own conclusions! I say that this movie with Twin Peaks series are historical pieces of art. Beautiful yet filled with mysteries and mix this with Angelo Badalamentis dark/beautiful music and you have a very good film! Recommended!
