The Theory of Everything (2014)
A drama that inspires
I watched this movie to learn more about Stephen Hawking's life. I think that this was more of a drama than a biography, having been inspired by Stephen Hawking's ex wife's memoir. I expected to learn more about Hawking's discoveries and why he became so famous, but in the end, I can't say that I haven't enjoyed the movie.
Knowing that Stephen and his wife got divorced later in their marriage, I expected to see more jealousy and conflict. I was pleasantly surprised to see that both partners continued having happy relationships afterwards and that they remained friends. The characters were all extremely likable.
The cinematography is superb and the score very well fitting. The costume design is also one that deserves mention.
Seeing how even a person suffering from an autoimmune disease can have a relatively normal life gave me a lot of hope. The intellect of a person is truly the most interesting thing about them. I'm happy that Hawking got to live and experience life the way that everyone should.
In the end, this movie was a very emotional one, that even though doesn't get into too much detail about Hawking's work, it shows his character and the environment that he lived in, and it truly inspires us to always look forward in life and have hope.

Interesting concept, nice costumes and amazing music and dancing, altough poor acting
If you are a Melanie Martinez fan, I think that you will be blown away by the music (which, to me, sounds more mature and I'm glad that her style has changed a bit, it sounds much better). The costumes are out of this world and the filming place is beautiful. This movie is full of modern issues and I think that it's great for adolescents to watch. It's not hard to understand, even though it is mainly symbolistic.
Right now I'm going to talk about what I didn't like. The acting is super cringey at times and I couldn't help but repeat their lines in my head with a better acting. But I think that is understandable. I think that those parts were the door appeared or when you could hear that goddess or whatever it was speaking were kind of forced. We all know that Melanie Martinez likes wicca and all, but I didn't quite understand what those scenes were doing to this movie.
Mainly, this movie is full of cliches, but you can't help falling in love with the visuals. That's why my rating is pretty high for the quality of the overall movie.
