A Simple Favor (2018)
Not a simple movie
Not what I expected at all, and yet I loved it. Shocking, lots of twists.
Imposters (2017)
I can't believe it's cancelled....
This show was amazing.
All of the characters change over the course of the seasons and you grow to love them all.
The banter between the 3 main characters is hilarious and the cons are always surprising.
This show will keep you guessing and laughing at the same time. I really hope Netflix saves this show.
The Stranger (2020)
Too much
This show.... ugh. After the first few episodes I knew I didn't wanna keep watching but I've been bored so I figured all right I at least get to figure out how it ends. Don't bother. The ending is awful, poorly executed. So many plot holes its hard to even keep track of them all. There were so many twists and they were all disappointing. My biggest complaint is there was just too much going on all at once. I'm sure the book was great but it was so poorly executed.
I agree with some of the comments on here saying it was so silly at times that it was just laughable how bad it was. The naked dude running around and the bite marks on the alpaca? I mean come on.... just plain stupid. Don't bother watching it.
Marriage Story (2019)
Divorce Story
This movie isn't a romantic comedy or even romantic at all. If you are hoping for a nice love story of a marriage being put together again, think again. This is not about rekindling a marriage or trying to make it work.
This is pure propaganda that will make you fear marriage and avoid it like the plague.
The preview and the title of this movie are very misleading. If you want to watch a movie about a brutal divorce and a marriage that could've been saved but wasn't saved, this movie is for you.
Absolutely awful.
Joker (2019)
MOVIE OF THE YEAR. A MUST SEE!!!
This is a must see if you love drama and psychological thrillers. I can't even find the words to describe it. I don't usually feel strongly about movies but this one just struck a cord with me. The hype is real. If Joaquin Pheonix doesn't win ALL the awards for this movie.... you know the game is rigged. ABSOLUTELY STUNNING. The film doesn't encourage violence, it encourages the exact opposite; human kindness. Something so simple could have changed the entire course of Arthur Fleck's life. Don't believe what the negative liberal media has to say about this. Watch and see for yourself that Joker is an absolute MASTERPIECE.
Dave Chappelle: Sticks & Stones (2019)
Raining Liberal Tears
He makes fun of EVERYONE! Highly offensive and highly recommended!
13 Reasons Why (2017)
Lame ending, wrong message.
Let me start by saying that if you are in any way suicidal you should NOT watch this show, ever. It is very triggering and even though they have warnings before some of the worst scenes, it is not enough. This show has romanticized suicide and caused it's viewers to commit suicide as well. Only after many people died did they put the proper warnings and information for people who need help. You've been warned!
With that said, I absolutely loved the plot lines of the first 2 seasons of this show. They were very well done and I would give them 9/10 stars. However, the third season was just terrible, so that is what I'm basing the 3/10 stars on. Ani seemed to gain the trust of every character on the show in a very short period of time and it doesn't seem realistic for such a tight knit group to open up to a new kid so quickly. Many viewers have also made that observation.
The entire season is essentially a who-done-it situation and you know that you won't find out who actually did it until the very last episode of course. But, I pressed on through the entire boring season only to be disappointed in the end. If you wanna know how it ends, just read spoilers, seriously.
MAJOR SPOILER ALERT:
The ending was one I did not see coming but it was just wrong. This show has done a good job in the past seasons of sending a good message that violence creates more violence. Ani says this multiple times but guess what?! THEY CREATE MORE VIOLENCE! "let the dead bury the dead" is just nonsense. Monty did not deserve to die, and he didn't deserve to die with everyone he ever knew believing he was a murderer. Alex never should have killed Bryce. Bryce was truly changing for the better and had real remorse for his mistakes. Alex took that away from him and then got away with MURDER in the end by framing Monty. This season sends the wrong message to teenagers. (Not that teenagers should even be watching this graphic show in the first place...)
Not to mention that when the show first came out, people killed themselves and left tapes behind, mimicking the show. Psychologists said that would happen but they did not listen and released the show without telling people to get help.
Also, I didn't like how they brought abortion and illegal immigration into the show. Netflix really is trying to make everything political and it's not working for them. I noticed that in the last season of Orange is the New Black, they brought abortion and illegal immigration into it, trying to get the viewer to see emotion not facts. Chloe was approached by a pro-lifer in front of the abortion clinic she went to. The pro-life woman deceived Chloe by dressing up as a clinic escort and then made her feel guilty for getting an abortion. She then handed Chloe a little model of a dead fetus. THIS DOES NOT HAPPEN OUTSIDE ABORTION CLINICS. The people who are on the sidewalk are praying and are there to offer support for the women, not shame them, but you won't see Netflix showing the great things pro-life people do for those women. Netflix will continue to use their platform to put ideas into young minds. This show sends all sorts of bad messages.
Orange Is the New Black (2013)
Mixed Feelings on the Final Season
Let me start by saying that I LOVE THIS SHOW! I always have. I've binged every single season as soon as they were released. I got the same tattoo that Piper got from Stella. "Trust no bxtch" in white ink on my forearm. I am attached to the characters; this show truly touched my heart.
With all of that said, the last season got way too political for my liking. I don't think that bringing in immigration did the season any favors. Don't get me wrong, the character development and drama was great but it's pure political propaganda. It portrays a very emotional side to the border situation while ignoring facts that don't support their opinion. It seems like the goal is to get viewers to be for open borders. I feel like they could have showed both sides on this issue. They made it seem like anyone supporting ICE was a cold hearted terrible person. I think in real life the issue is not as black and white as they made it seem in the show. I did like how they showed how dangerous the trip through the border can be because of gangs and the desert. That was the most realistic aspect.
Aside from that, the last season was great. Much sadder than the other seasons, but very touching as well. I actually like how they incorporated the #MeToo movement into the show. We all know Joe Caputo is a great guy that has the best of intentions, while being a tad bit creepy sometimes. They showed both sides, how sexual harassment allegations can destroy a man's career, and how the victim feels as well. Caputo learned a valuable lesson and grew as a person because of it all.
In addition, the Poussey Washington Fund is AMAZING! I LOVE how they are providing micro-loans to newly released inmates! What other show would do something like that?! Simply amazing. The ending credits were awesome. I cried so many times during this last season. And I love that for the very last episode they changed the intro song. It was very well done. I can't believe the show is finally over.
