Quintessential Aussie Humour
8 July 2023
I watched the first two episodes and thought how can people be so stupid? I mean bumbling idiotic stupid. But as I continued to watch, it grew on me. Typical quintessential Aussie humour of just taking the piss out of others and ourselves. It's what makes Aussie humour som great.

Set in Tassie, subtle wink at the lesbians that inhabit the town me thinks (if you know you know!), all the actors play their roles really well. You will probably notice a few Aussie comedians in there and they play their roles really well also. Don't think too hard about who dunnit and enjoy the ride. The scenery is wonderful also.

An Aussie appreciation for American history
11 June 2022
To be fair we tend to know more about US history than we do about our own which is quite sad really. But this was a lot of fun. A great piss take on American history. Are we sure this wasn't written by Australians? It has great Aussie sense of humour about it. The humour of if you can't laugh at yourself and take the piss out of yourself then you don't do it to others. A real Australian sense of humour. And this is it. Shame we don't have the rich history of the US to pull something like this off on our own history.

Quintessential Aussie Movie
18 June 2021
Watching this movie on the TV again 2021 and it still holds up. The stunts are fantastic considering when it was made. It is every bit quintessential Aussie today as it was when it was made. The action, the aussie muscle cars and custom builds bring back so many memories of a misspent youth. Of all the Mad Max movies this is by far the best. Fury Road comes close to reliving the sense of what made this movie so great. A great early Mel movie, and Vern Wells aka Bennett from Commando is just OTT.

Fun movie
1 September 2020
Warning: Spoilers
I thought this movie had a great twist on Groundhog Day to which I am sure it is an ode to. When multiple characters are caught up in the "Back to the Future" Time Space Continuum it really adds to the story. I really enjoyed the ride and thought it was a great movie. I am really not too sure what the dinosaurs added, maybe new beginnings perhaps! Bit overall a really fun movie.

Typical Aussies Self Depreciating Humour
24 July 2020
I don't know why the ratings on IMDM are so low. I though it was a great movie. Typical self depreciating humour. We don't take ourselves too seriously and we like to take the piss out of ourselves and everyone else and this was evident in this movie with some great cameo's. I really enjoyed it. Anyone GenX or older I think will have a few good laughs. I know I did . Loved it! On ya Hoges

Not the best Viking movie
10 August 2019
The sword play, well I have seen better with kids and sticks in the playground. The story was OK but the action left a lot to be desired. Gunner was the only believable Berserker and Darcie Lincoln wasn't too shabby in both the acting and on the eye. But overall this was a bit of a let down. Could have been so much more if the action was actually believable
