The Beverly Hillbillies (1993)
Casting was SUPERB!!!
I didn't watch this movie until a few years after it came out. I was just thinking to myself "Oh, no!!, another remake." It just didn't seem to catch my eye. One night, out of sheer boredom I watched it. To my surprise, I was entertained by this movie. I was amazed by the perfect casting involved, everyone was perfect! The subplot was a little weak, but held true to the series, everyone always trying to get at Jeb's fortune. Overall I found it entertaining and funny. If you go in without expecting too much, just hoping for some lighter fare, I think you will be pleasantly surprised. Just picture each character with the new cast; its perfect!!!
Murder: By Reason of Insanity (1985)
Leaves a lasting impression
I saw this listed today in my TV Guide and decided to check it out. After reviewing the cast list I decided to TIVO it. It seemed vaguely familiar to me. When I saw Jurgen Prochnow's name as the star, I remembered him from a movie I had seen long ago. He was evil incarnate in his role. It was the first time I had ever seen him in a movie. He was unforgettable. After watching the beginning of this movie I realized they were one and the same. The rest of the cast is great, too. Eli Wallich, as always is super. This being about the same time he was in "The Executioners Song". Well worth a look. On FX Movies this week with out commercials. This movie is very similar to "A Cry for Help: The Tracey Thurman Story" (1989) (TV), another first rate TV movie.

The Book Was Awesome! The Movie...Well, You Know...
The Book Was Awesome, I have recommended it several times as the best novel I have read in recent years. I was fascinated by it. The movie, however, left me wondering what was going on.I guess that runs true with most books to movies. I give it a 4 out of 10. Paul Walker doesn't carry the movie either. I really was excited to hear this movie was coming out since it was my favorite book, so I guess maybe I set my sights too high on this one.
The Spitfire Grill (1996)
Superb Sleeper of the YEAR!!! HIGHLY underrated!
Superb drama with an excellent plot using simplicity and feeling instead of HYPE and GREENBACKS like so much of the garbage out there these days. FIVE stars for sure.
Quigley Down Under (1990)
GREAT Western Adventure !!!
I loved this movie. All of the elements of a classic good vs. evil western. Possibly my favorite western along with Unforgiven. Ahead of its time on the comeback trail of the western genre. If it had been made 10 years later it would have been a mega-blockbuster. Selleck is great! Supported by Rickman and San Giancamo, what more could you ask?

I want to watch it again with everyone I know !!!
This is an absolutely a fabulous movie. Pepper and Jane are right on the mark. SUPERB job by Billy Crystal conveying his lifelong love of the game to the viewers. I was writhing in anguish as Peppers character brought home the trials and tribulations facing Roger Maris in the 1960s era New York. One of the best sports/baseball movies ever. An effort truly WELL DONE !!! BRAVO !!!
Panic Room (2002)
A real STINKER !!!
Boy, what a let down. Thin plot, boring action, I turned it off after an hour in favor of switching to "We were soldiers". I went back and watched the end, but it didn't get any better. I anticipated something exciting on this one, but 'NO THANKS, JODIE"
