Secrets of Playboy (2022–2023)
2/10
You already know
15 February 2022
Short of it: According to Shondra Theodore, who seems to be the main storyteller, Hefner was a mob boss, drug trafficker, human trafficker, peodophile, ophidiophile (beastiality), sociopath, psychopath, satan worshipper, the devil incarnate, and the antichrist. Keep in mind she only knew him for 5 years out of the 60+ he ran playboy and she loved him more than he did her, so of course she sees it as a waste and drain on her life, similar to what Holly's psych has convinced her of.

This doc starts off with the women talking about how fun and great in was at playboy. One lady says, "can't talk about the good, without talking about the bad." True.

Basically, everything bad that happened to any of these women was ALL his fault. You will see if you hear the stories. They even hit you with the "'Technically' Hefner did nothing wrong, but we now think and know it was wrong." These were women who wanted the lifestyle, BUT Hefner 'went too far' mainly cause he didn't do enough, to protect the women from the image that he created and they participated, which some say they ashamed.

Obviously a hit peice (A&E did a lot of glorified pieces in the past), most of it is in fact hear say and a lot of it sounds vindictive after all the fun was had, but he is dead and gone and I know his daughter hates this. Honestly, these things are based on what you will believe, tears mean nothing nowadays, cause folks pick who they want to believe went thru trauma, simply DEAD and GONE.

New Vegas is here
15 February 2021
This is the episode that ramps it up. The visuals and activities explain it all (better than 1994, IMO, cause no restrictions). So groups will not like it what they see and the ones in New Vegas, but that is Flagg's world.

Netflix Crazy Rich Asian Overload is real
16 January 2021
Netflix 'House of Ho' is about wealthy asians in Houston, but at least they understood to point of 'earning' a dollar even though it was off the backs of their parents. These folks DO NOT CARE about money and they DO NOT CARE about earning it. They all have VERY large trust funds (except Kevin), make sense these are the so-called 'real' crazy rich asians of L.A. I feel bad for Kevin, who is a working model/actor and often the odd man out, who does talk about struggling to pay for his studio apartment and they look at him like 'huh', it's hilarious. Again, if you want petty, meaningless squabbles, folks that live in their own reality, tone deaf and think they are the center of the world. This is it.

Yeah, Another Crazy Rich Asians reality show
12 December 2020
There have been Rich Asian reality shows from the BBC, this takes place in US (Houston, TX). Honestly it's hilarious. You have the father the matriach of the family who has made his fortune. He has 3 kids, his daughter Judy and 2 sons, Washington and Reagan (who is not in the show, just one episode). Judy is basically at 40, has 3 kids and just divorced. She is just manipulative, really, she lives with her brother and his wife, while the father is renovating her new home. She constantly starts stuff and brings up conflict. She talks about being independent, but does nothing, then complains about her culture and traditions, says her father does not support her though she is living off him, she wants respect but doesn't give it, opening looking to disrespect her father, she starts dating and doesn't want him the meet the guy, which is all he wants, but she looks at 'his approval' as manipulation. Washington acts like and is a spoiled brat and dealing with alcoholism. His wife Lesley is working from home, taking care of her kids, and has to do errands for the family, really cause Judy could care less and is taking time for herself, really for nothing but self gratification. But really, Lesley doesn't have to do all that and take on the stress she does, she chooses to. The aunt, Aunty Tina, is exactly what she calls herself, a hot mess. They all waiting for the father to retire BUT the father, Binh, is absolutely right in not trusting his kids with the company, they are a mess and without him they would lose everything. I was frustrated at their patience, they could just cut them off, but they deal with it. These are people who live in their world, find drama when there is none (most of the time) if you like trashy reality shows, funny and subpar entertainment this is for you.

Tried It.. NO
27 November 2020
It is cheesier than the original, I love Dexter Darden he is funny, Mario Lopez dumbing down AC Slater even more than original gave me a few laughs and honestly, Josie Totah is funny, over the top, but that is to be expected, when an inclusionary character is added they do go over the top and she is a producer so. It's just unrealistic, more than the original, they have a female football player, no problem, but they have her as QB at like 5' 2 when the other person is 6' something, makes no sense, and the trans character has a crush on a straight character, again that situation is too complicated and unrealistic. The show pokes fun at itself. There are many other issues, sure other reviews will point them out. Just like many shows it is just way off and expects people to just accept it. Then again I think that was the point.

It's OK, REALLY
21 November 2020
This movie is OK, mainly do to the fight scenes. You can tell they actually spent time with the fight choreography. The fights are pretty well done,. You can also see that they cast and used real female athletes. Bella Thorne even looked good in her fights (or her stunt double). Some folks may hate this film simply for Bella Thorne, I like her, can't knock her for playing the system. Everything else is just below average.

Hollywood Needs To Stop
12 November 2020
Yeah, it sucked. First off, can't believe the "Game Plan" girl (Madison Pettis) is 22 now, I am old. Hollywood needs to stop with this NO NUDITY BS in movies and shows dealing with sex and crude humor. They made the Stifler character female, not an issue, but she is not Stifler in ANY way (you can make a female Stifler, it's not hard). They also need to stop this DRY HUMPING CLOTHES ON sex scene BS also, just skip it or have it implied. Someone mentioned sexual conversations, there literally were NONE, they literally just made a sex pack, they didn't talk about anything. LBH these girls have no issue getting laid, the issue for women is giving the right guy the chance, but it's all about physical attraction and in here other people tell each one who was the right one for them cause they ignored them, typical. 2 Stars cause it could have been remotely good, a diverse group of young ladies, but you just totally killed every aspect of what made American Pie good. Honestly the American Pie movies have not been the same after the 3rd movie. These are literally CW and FREEFORM movies now. Hollywood is literally stealing money, if you renting these types of movies.

Charles Band won't STOP
9 November 2020
I love Charles Band, so i automatically give it 4 stars. Honestly, nothing here. This is his third movie (short film really) he has put out during covid lockdowns. It's just Barbie (Cody Cameron) and Kendra (Robin Sydney) talking and being ditzy, while supposedly watching footage on TV. Here he spliced together scenes from old movies as usual, here it was 'The Day Time Ended' and 'Space Thing' and using ridiculous voice overs. There is nudity (from the old films) and silly fun. If you hoping to see Barbie and Kendra nude, it doesn't go further than their skimpy outfits, just like the other 2 films. One thing is Charles Band is figuring out a way to keep working and put out product. However you may think of it. The end basically says there will be a fourth. He won't stop.

Really, Trump is not in it as much as I thought
29 October 2020
To be honest, this is a doc by Alexandra Pelosi (yes, Nancy Pelosi's daughter) and I have seen her docs before, and they not that bad or one-sided, most of the time. She really does start by showing the real divide of people and how the majority of them who are comfortable living in their own personal bubble opposed to the ones who protest their political views. She then dives into the issue of Trump's rhetoric, which, yes, it is divisive but the emotional reactions towards it fuel more divisiveness as well. I like that she showed Trump supporters chanting with their signs and then when the anti-Trumpers showed up they were the ones who got aggravated and physical. She actually touched on immigration, consumerism, classism issues and racial issues, and guess what, 45 to 50 mins of this doc is NOT about Trump. She just talking and asking people questions, at the 46 min mark, she was actually talking to a well known black millitant and I don't think she knew it (he doesn't like democrats). She really does show the divided country that has always been there BEFORE Trump. Also I liked she talked to people who didn't take COVID-19 seriously and didn't think much of it in the beginning, again it wasn't about Trump. THEN Trump (somewhat) comes back into the picture at the 1 hr mark, mainly because of his supporters calling COVID as the common flu and protest lockdowns. She shows the effects of the pandemic. Again showing the divide of the people and their individual beliefs, and how they are misinformed of each other. Then there were the protests, enough said. At 1hr 8min mark, now Trump supporters enter the picture versus BLM protesters. She then goes back to the effects of the pandemic and how people feel in general about it all. Ends with people against people. I did not have a much emotional reaction to none of it, cause am black, people crying, fearing for their life is nothing to me, i feel it everyday and 8 presidents have done and will do nothing about it. Changes must be locally, wish more people knew that. All in all, this doc was OK.

A MUST SEE IT REALLY IS
27 September 2020
This doc spreads the blame to everyone for 2016, where it should be. Don't care what anyone says or tells you. It points out the role that Trump (realistically) played, the role Hilary played (her team really let her down), the role the DNC played, the role Obama's administration played, and the role Russia (well the small group) played. Also talks about the role of media, not just mainstream, but independent as well and the events that happened before 2016. Anyone with a real bias eye, this is what you want, someone to point out the faults of all parties involved. It breaks down the social engineering taking place by BOTH, yes, BOTH parties. Look, I would tell anyone to watch The Social Dilemma, Frontline 20/20-Trump vs Biden (they breakdown both tactics very well) and this, you won't be disappointed with the knowledge.

actually does breakdown history, pros and cons
27 September 2020
Excuse the fact this doc is made by a person who has made right-wing docs before. This doc does a good job of breakdown the history of our electoral system and it does breakdown pros and cons, but of course people will not like it. The biggest and seemingly only argument I see is that majority (popular vote) is suppose to always win. I personally would like more real debate on both sides but those days are gone. They breakdown why the founding fathers did not want that and it actually does make sense. They talked about Lincoln, but he won because there were more voters in the north and electoral votes in the north. I already know some folks won't like it cause the already have it in their minds the system must go, but it is true if you complain about the 1%, then you know the 1% can buy votes for majority, even though it is hard if not possible to trust the 'body of electors'. Another thing is true, if they get rid and still don't get what they want, they still will scream 'rigged' and 'corrupt'. So honestly what does it really matter...

Good Info, but over the top and Moby being Moby
22 September 2020
This doc has good info, BUT they never really answer the over population issue. They talk about eating plant based, but they also talked about a shortage of agriculture areas, huh. There is a short film, it was high school level. One doctor calls everyone morons, while I do agree, but he literally did not answer the question at hand. Some of the 'over population' answers were gender equality, equal pay, equal education and 'think' about smaller families and adopt? Adoption happens a lot because of large families or situation, it won't stop it. Dr Ochoa admits to sterilizing herself, okay? We know what will fix over population and one person touch on the many programs that had been used in other countries and we know if it came to it, those programs would come into affect. Dr Ochoa's heavy accent makes it feel over the top and graphic video of animals. AND FINALLY, MOBY BEING MOBY, basically Moby just saying all humans are horrible, you are not a good person even if you treat people nice, you are a piece of trash just because you are human. Stop killing animals and fish! "Look at me, I went vegan and became a star." Look the planet is dying we know this, sad but true and yes there are small things we can do to conserve what we can, but there are some things that will NOT change and can't.

Revenge Ride (2020)

Wanted to Like But Skip It
6 August 2020
Of course a revenge flick I wanted to like, but I couldn't. Pollyanna McIntosh was good, some what, she would be perfect as a biker gang lead at 5'11" and intimidating and she showed character, but she doesn't have a lot here. Serinda Swan was good and truly shines. BUT it made no sense honestly, a biker gang of women against 3 football frat boys, I believe the director tried to make it a commentary on college rape, how so many go unknown and unreported, but does not explain why other than 'nobody will do anything', the gang hates men, but really they don't, but it is not really shown except the end somewhat, the movie really could have used an extra 15-20 minutes, the ending was abrupt, silly and no resolution to everything that just happened. It was a pretty bad movie, even for me and that really is saying something, it had potential but missed.

It was OK For Me
19 July 2020
I did not get drawn in by the early reviews or expectations, and hype. That's just what some of these mainstream reviewers do nowadays, especially female lead things. I went in blind it and I kinda liked. I liked the telling of the 'prequel' with The Lady of The Lake POV. It was weird seeing Barack Obama as Arthur (actor played Obama), but hey, no problem with me. Only saw the lead, Katherine Langford, in Knives Out, never watched 13 Reasons Why, which may be her best stuff but she was good here. Morgana was on character, she was always portrayed as a free and liberated person, so that was on par. I have to think that the little boy, Squirrel, was good. There was a line in Ep 7, I could not stand (about kings and queens, you will know it when you hear it), but all in all it was good. A lot of the hate is the black King Arthur, didn't bother me, hell the whole cast was diverse (not factual, but it's not meant to be), some did not like the acting, didn't bother me. Couple of OK twist in there. Ep 10 was the best for me. It was an OK Season 1. It's not Witcher (if you liked it) and It's not Game of Thrones (if you liked it), tbh it's not as good as some of the older swords/sorcerers type movies that have been told, but hey. And yeah, TBH it could have been better, but it was OK.

Warrior Nun (2020–2022)

More Like a 20-Something Drama
6 July 2020
Watch all episodes and it was much like a drama. Saw a lot of reviews stating very little action, they would be true. 10 eps about 5 or 6 six action scenes. 3 in the last 2 eps. The main character spent most of her time trying to get answers from everybody but the people who could answer her questions and the nuns wasted time going after her. Character is 19 and acted like it and wanted to party her new lease on life away. They really did take the trope of 'I never chose this life' a little too far, literally thru 8 eps. The ending was obvious to a season 2, not even a temporary resolution to season one like most shows, seems like it was suppose to have 2 more eps. So much of the show is just understood, so at least they didn't push anything. It's ok, not much Warrior Nuns tho.

I tried...
7 May 2020
Love vampire movies, the first scene grabbed me, I liked the femme squad look, but the dialogue was boring, there were too many instances were the men were, basically the same trope as always with these, men are evil or will be evil (if they had power), at the same time women are cruel too, but justified, ok. At one point they just killing men just to kill them, of course. The fact that the main character is trans and the group knows it, in a group that is women only, there is tension. But they don't address, which I know a lot of women will not like. I can't stand that about hollywood sometimes, just no real dialogue on real issues, just ideaology. There was a back story brought up that had potential but it never really came to light, which lead to the ending, which was not believable TBH. All in all the movie was boring, I can deal with that, but this was not good. Just more if this group switches with that group it's all better, you know what I mean.

Rose Byrne is good
16 April 2020
Introduce Gloria Steinem. I am sure this is the episode people will be high on. Rose Byrne does a good job portraying her, almost unrecognizable. Very sure she had a good amount of time to study Gloria herself since she is still alive and well, able to give her accounts, full mindset and conflict with her allies. That's what really made the episode good. Most pertinent line in this episode though, "Soon we will have unisex bathrooms". Who knew. Women felt it would never happen. Worth a watch.

Good performance by Blanchett
16 April 2020
This is the show I was waiting on, and this episode. Phyllis Schlafly was a woman with a strong voice and refuse to back down and they did get that right. From what I understand, she was grass roots campaigner and she was personable with her supporters, they do show that. I was little confused about how they portrayed her marriage, one minute her husband is respecting her, even smirking at a guy who made a quip at her and his look was funny and the next she's tired and he doesn't respect that. Good performance but as usual I have to be skeptical of the writing since Schlafly is not alive to give her full accounts and knowing her daughter has spoken out against this show. Nevertheless, I can't wait to see the rest with Blanchett.

Complicated subject, good, but boiled down to one message
15 April 2020
Warning: Spoilers
They went at a complicated subject from all angles, but to be honest, it all boiled down one message - "Never have relationships with co-workers", simply put. Every relationship, even the one in question, ended because the women were uncomfortable with how their co-workers looked at them. The offender was blamed for how people looked at the victim, which honestly made no sense, especially how she explained their whole situation. But i guess that was the point. Aniston did a good job portraying a role women are often in. At one point, the men just seemed expendable to everything, it was all about how their female co-workers felt, no matter what. Tho the one guy who was 'neutral' i guess, was the fall guy and put under the most pressure just being there. So in whole it was good, it wasn't preachy also the message was clear, and that's it.

Tales from the Loop: Transpose (2020)
Season 1, Episode 2
9/10
Pivotal Episode
6 April 2020
Warning: Spoilers
This episode is pivotal in the series. Jakob and Danny, two best friends, find a capsule. While playing around, Jakob steps into the capsule and sits back into the darkness and suddenly both boys are waking up. Jakob starts to freak out noticing he is not in his body and so they try again and switch back. Danny suggest they trade for a day. Jakob as Danny finds himself in awkward situations where he has to make out with Danny's girlfriend, he has to communicate with Danny's little sister, who is deaf, but ignores her and he is asked about his future plans, which leads to his parents arguing. Jakob wants to change back, but Danny refuses, cause he realizes Jakob's grandpa owns The Loop company, it's where mostly everyone goes to work and he lied about getting offers. They fight and Jakob goes to the capsule by himself but he doesn't wake. Everyone is looking for him, but Danny is nonchalant and doesn't care, until the second day. He finds him and runs for help. Now Jakob (in Danny's body) is in a coma. Feeling bad Danny tries to go back to the capsule and try to fix, but it is too late they are breaking it down. He wakes from his sleep to find Jakob is the body of a robot. And it ends.

I liked this episode, but am not sure if there was a message, Danny was the one with on the physical attributes and coast thru life with his charm, but when it came time all he wanted to do was work at The Loop, but he wasn't smart enough and he took it from Jakob. When Jakob was smart and a talented artist with plenty of options and all taken away. This episode is pivotal because the repercussions of this episode spill into four other episodes later. Cole is affected by that fact that he and Jakob had a tight bound and he was a soothing voice for Cole and a mentor, Danny as Jakob enters into a relationship with the girl Jakob has a crush with as favor but it doesn't end well and Danny not being there for his family causes issues. It all leads to a bittersweet and surreal ending.

well.. idk
5 April 2020
This show basically starts off with 'forced' comedy, they obviously over playing it and I guess some folks like that, i like when it's funny, but this was just bland and stupid. But i thought it had potential, but then they basically gave away the love interest story line and there was ridiculous batter that made no sense just for the sake of making the 'bad guys' look incompetent. Well, Scify is hit or miss. Apparently there is a novel or comic, so I would guess there is a fan base, so this may go 3 or 4 seasons. I remember seeing Wynona Earp and liking it, but then it went off the rails, funny one of the actors is on this show. i could not relate to any of the characters, again maybe I have seen too much sci fi in my life. I feel not for me, but I will give it a few more eps.

It is Intriguing
18 August 2019
Honestly, a lot, and I mean a LOT of nudity and drugs. It basically tells the story of a group of friends dealing with street life, as the party, and party but the effects lead them to descend into darkness, sadness and madness. This can be often complicated to show as people break in different ways. This film did a good job of showing it. It can be confusing but it is worth a watch.
