"Not "Click"ing" Chicago Tribune
23 June 2006
Warning: Spoilers
Rating- 2/5 (C) Category- Comedy/Drama Click is a comedy starring David Hasselholf, being the crude and evil boss, and Adam Sandler who is a devoted husband and father of two kids. Sadly his job is separating him from his family. So as you could see his life is really hard so he searches for a universal remote that does more than expected. It can control the whole universe. The problem being is after you use the remote for a while it keeps storing what happens into its memory. For ex. Mr. Newman, Adam Sandler, accidentally fast forwards through sex and from then on sex would be fast forwarded and so on and so forth. So as the movie goes on, passing by some funny jokes and hearing some little chuckles, he ends up missing a lot of stuff that he didn't want to miss. Eventually, he is 16 years into the future having no idea what is going on.

Now before I saw this movie I saw the trailer for it and I found it funny and quite amusing. Then I read the reviews. The Chicago Tribune gave the movie 1 and half stars, the Sun Times gave the movie 2 stars, and everyone else gave it a rating somewhat close to that.

OK, now my point of view. Just to shorten your read I thought the movie was decent until a little more than half way through the movie. That is when Click became a Drama. I mean for Christ sake, since when does a movie change genres from comedy to drama and back to comedy again. It is ridiculous. Yeah the drama scenes were quite intense. More than half the audience was sobbing. Still, what they did ruined the movie. I still left the movie theater with a happy feeling but what movie doesn't besides Flight 93? All in all, the movie made me laugh every 20 minutes, but it also made me look at my watch. Do I recommend it? Yes if you are completely bored and aren't satisfied with doing anything else, but otherwise just rent the movie when it comes out, watch the first 45 minutes where the parts are funny, and then return it.

Aren't you tired of animal cartoons? See if this can live up to the rest.
5 June 2006
Category: Comedy Over The Hedge directed by Tim Johnson and Karey Kirkpatrick is a movie about different animals like a turtle, skunk, possums, and more live in one log where they meet RJ, voice of Bruce Willis. RJ had just lost all of the bear's food and now he has to return all the food in one week by using the other animals he meets.

USA Today says, "The vividly animated film based on a comic strip by Michael Fry and T. Lewis has an appealing balance of comic bits and exhilarating action sequences." In my own thought I thought the movie made you laugh and giggle and such things like that. The movie was really one of the greatest animated films I had seen in a while, but the thing is I am frankly tired of remakes, movies based off of books (in this case it is based of a comic strip), and movies that are about animals. It was fine when it started with Madagascar but from then on you could always find a movie in theaters about animals and their problems.

Poseidon (2006)
7/10
Is Posiedon as good as the original? Check my review.

Category- Thriller Poseidon is a suspenseful movie starring Kurt Russell. (You may know him from Sky High or Miracle) During their cruise they are struck with a rare freakish tidal wave that plows the boat over upside-down. From there a group of 5 tries to get to the top of the ship where they can swim out the propeller tubes and out to open water.

This movie was a very suspenseful movie with some questionable acting. This movie, however, was a tough movie to win an Oscar for. The main actors and actresses had to go through long periods under water in one breath. Fergie, though, is still not cut out for acting. Shawn Edwards from FOX says this is, "A Terror Drenched Thrill Ride Full of Action and Suspense." Overall I would give Poseidon a 3.5/5. So I would somewhat recommend this movie for you to see.

Does this movie make you feel like you were on United 93? Check my review

This tragic true story is one of the most horrific movies to hit the big screen. It will literally keep you on the edge of your seat from beginning to end. Even though you already know how the movie will end, you still get that sick feeling in your stomach from looking at these horrifying events. There is that little voice inside thinking how the hell you would act in a situation like this one.

Director Paul Greengrass who directed "The Bourne Supremacy" and "Bloody Sunday" says, "It tells the story of the day through a meticulous reenactment of events in the belief that by examining this single event something much larger can be found- the shape of our world today."

This story is very upsetting for people like me due to the fact that I felt sick, queasy, and on the verge of throwing up. In my opinion the whole plot seemed pretty accurate to me, but since reviews are not just based on that, the reason I gave it a low rating is due to the acting and directing skills. This whole movie is filled with a huge amateur acting cast and if it weren't for the strong true full story about 9/11 this production would be garbage.

The DaVinci Code;will it meet the standards of the book?
27 May 2006
Rating- 3.5/5 Category- Drama/Thriller/Mystery The Davinci Code is a drama/mystery/thriller that literally keeps your eyes glued to the movie screen for 2 and a half hours. Starring Tom Hanks (Forrest Gump, The Terminal, Cast Away, etc.) and Audrey Tautou (a decent French actress from out of the blue). Now in this movie these two characters help each other with the treasure hunt for the Holy Grail. This hunt was made from Sophie Neveu's, Audrey Tautou, grandfather. He set clues all around Europe all having to do with symbols and things having to do with Christ.

Even the New York Times says, "WOW... Blockbuster perfection. An exhilaratingly brainy thriller. Not since the advent of Harry Potter has an author so flagrantly delighted in leading readers on a breathless chase and coaxing them through hoops." Sadly other people had different views, mostly from the liberal side. People from the Chicago Tribune gave the movie a 1.5/5. But yet we have to think about this. It seems like the Chicago Tribune can't handle religious movies because the same thing happened when Mel Gibson produced the Passion of the Christ. So why don't you just think about that for a second.

Now for my opinion I believe this movie had a decent part in every field. The acting from Ian McKellen was phenomenal (like always), the screenplay was well written, and the directing from Ron Howard was more than half way decent. The main reason though that I gave the rating a 3.5 is because not the whole cast had their A game for this movie (Tom Hanks). Tom Hanks just doesn't have the pizazz to be in a serious role. All in all this movie brought it to the big screen in a big way.
