teenager on house arrest winds up finding some very creative things to do
27 April 2007
I recommend this movie to anyone who wants to see a very well done movie from start to finish. The movie itself is actually a remake of the

Hitchcock classic "rear window" but it has definitely been modernized but in a fun way.The main character winds up under house arrest with a high tech sensor attached to his leg which literally doesn't allow him to be more than a few more feet from the house without there being serious consequences. The nice part about this movie is that the script is really polished nicely from beginning to end. Once the main character starts off being under house arrest the fun begins. He is told to be very creative with his time, and even though he has his TV and computer games taken away from him he winds up having to use the environment around him to keep himself amused. This is where the well done script kicks into high gear with the other characters being well developed into action, each helping to make the story more interesting. Mainly the different characters help to make up different types of suspense which make it a top notch thriller. Even the "girl next door" who turns into his love interest develops in a nice realistic fashion. The best part about this movie is that the script is developed in such a professional manner that it just keeps you on the edge of your seat wondering how things are going to turn out. Probably the best part of this movie is that it is totally worth watching, because the director did such a good job and the actors did such a great job. If you don't get a chance to see it in the theatres then do yourself a favor and treat yourself to it on either rental or for purchase, you won't be sorry.

mission impossible series comes full circle
17 November 2006
This is the third and possibly the best in the series. The new storyline is a real thrill ride. Ethan Hunt is fighting a terrorist while also trying to save his girlfriend's life from the terrorist. He does everything he can to make sure that his girlfriend doesn't know what the truth is about his job. This movie is a real thrill ride from the beginning to the end, every moment keeps you in suspense. The story has you rivited from one moment to the next which is what the series is all about. Tom Cruise also does some totally amazing stunts in this one that really gives the movie a good steady push.If you are a fan of the series, this is definitely one to have in your collection. If you have never seen the series before, it is definitely one to rent out. Everyone in this movie really did an excellent job, especially with the storyline. It is worth watching.

teenager graduating learns the true meaning of respect for another person
11 November 2006
When I first rented this movie, I was actually expecting to watch another usual teen comedy, but, what I wound up seeing was the 2006 version of how a boy who is graduating learns the real meaning of how to respect another person. When we first meet the young boy, he hangs out with a not so popular crowd and seems very frustrated by it. One evening while taking out the garbage, he winds up meeting his new next neighbour, "the girl next door" and he falls in love with her at first sight because she is physically beautiful. After he accidentally sees her without her top on, they actually wind up going out for the evening, and that is when the true meaning of a relationship starts up between them. She actually starts showing him how to have respect for a girl, and this wonderful message actually becomes the basis for the whole story. The two actually have a real chemistry together. The movie itself winds up giving out the wonderful message to the youth of today and tomorrow that if you don't respect another person, you don't know what a real relationship is. The movie itself is a real "classic" in my opinion for this reason and that is why I am glad to have it in my DVD collection. I would honestly consider this to be a real modern day "cinderella story" and I really hope to see Hollywood making more of these types of films, because honestly, these are the types of films that dreams are made of.The movie itself also has a lot of good laughs in it. If you want to do yourself a favor, either rent it for the evening or buy it to enjoy it over and over.

a veteran coast guard helps to train future coast guards how to be professional coast guards
18 October 2006
This is the latest entry from Kevin Costner and he has really managed to choose a good script. I must admit that when I first saw the movie poster for this back in August I wasn't quite sure what to expect. When I saw a preview for it I said to myself that it might be something worth checking out. When the movie was released my instinct told me when I had the time to go and see it, and, I am glad that I followed my instincts. This movie basically mangages to deliver what it promises to deliver. It comes across as "young hotshot" being shown the ropes by a "true veteran" but the movie itself is a real story as to what happens when two people who are really good at what they are doing ironically manage to bring out the "best" in one another. Ashton Kutcher shows up thinking that he is going to "out do" Kevin Costner with all of the awards that Costner has won, but, as the story goes on, the two of them both wind up learning that they are both pretty much"equal" in terms of their abilities. Yes, there is also a "nice love interest with a really pretty girl" for Kutcher and they actually have some chemistry together. The movie also shows you some excellent examples of what "coast guard training" is all about and shows you how hard they all work. The training shows you how they are all taught to work together and be a true "team" and show one another "courtesy and respect". If you want a good movie to see in the theatres or eventually on rental, this is a good one.

a really good movie combining the past with the present
26 September 2006
I just went and saw a really nice movie that quite frankly, I almost didn't bother going to see if it were not for my friend suggesting it. The movie stars James Fransico from the spiderman movies who has really managed to find himself a nice role that will really distinguish him as someone who can do a good job with dramatic roles. He actually managed to take on a 'James Dean' type of presence throughout the whole movie. It was a very accurate portrayal of "dogfights" in WW1. The action was amazing but not out of reality. The actual authenticity of the way things were back then was done on an excellent scale. You were really given a sense of how everything was for them back in that era down to the last detail. The storyline itself is very suspenseful to the very end and they even manage to give you a realistic 'love story' that would actually happen between a man and woman in the war. You could really feel the sense of 'honour' and 'brotherhood' between the different pilots. This is definitely a real 'man's movie".

Rush: R30 (2005 TV Movie)
10/10
rush gives a wonderful performance for their 30th anniversary for the fans
7 August 2006
I am a huge fan of rush and this DVD certainly shows anyone who is or is not a fan, why! From the start of the show to the finish, the band performs their magic as only they know how. Even the introduction which shows all of their albums from start to finish with a nice little introduction by Jerry Stiller which really goes to show how creative they can be. They keep the show at a really nice pace and even give the fans a real treat by bringing back a nice song from Grace Under Pressure called "between the wheels" which surprised and thrilled the fans who had not heard it in years. One of the nicest parts is during the son "by tor and the snow dog", their is a really cute cartoon that show up that really shows the band in a funny and creative light. This DVD even comes with a cd soundtrack for those who want to simply listen to the magic. This is definitely one for anyone who has been a fan for a long time or someone who has just been introduced. It is definitely one for the collection because they made it for the fans!

Rush in Rio (2003 Video)
10/10
one of best rock bands ever show how excellent they are in Rio
5 August 2006
I have been a "huge" rush fan ever since "moving pictures" and this concert is simply and example to everyone who is a fan why Rush is so popular. They completely admitted to playing their biggest concert yet, and, despite the rain in a soccer arena, they still manage to give an outstanding performance from start to finish. A real example of this is during "yyz" the entire crowd start to sing along to it in a real classic manner, in perfect sinc. They really play all of everyone's favorite songs with a real powerful "lust" that rarely happens anymore. You get the best seat in the house for one of their best concerts given. The second DVD is a fascinating documentary of the band while they are in brazil and shows you a lot of the backstage things going on and it allows you to see them not just a musicians but as actual people in their everyday life. This DVD gift set is a must for any Rush fan young and old and is definitely a keeper for your DVD collection. Their is even a cd of the concert for those who just want to listen to the music. This DVD is worth it!

My Tutor (1983)

graduating high school starts summer off being immature and through his tutor becomes a respectable person
5 August 2006
This movie first came out in the 1980's era of "stupid teen flicks" but really if it were to be released this year would seriously be a nice "date movie" that anyone could enjoy because it seriously is a movie that would be very relevant for anyone out there in the relationship world who needs to see how to be a nice person. The movie starts out with the young boy "Bobby" who is obviously very overly hormone driven finding out that his summer is going to be spent with a woman tutor who is going to teach him French. "Karen Kaye" winds up being his beautiful tutor who over the course of the summer winds up teaching him how to be nice and respectful of women. She basically holds the whole movie together and does an excellent job of it. She was the perfect choice for the part. Once the two of them do fall in love, even the love scene that everyone is waiting for is done tastefully. Terry does a wonderful job of teaching Bobby how to be a "real man". You actually enjoy watching them together. This movie is now available on DVD and is worth getting and watching with that "someone special".

Just My Luck (2006)
8/10
girl starts out having great luck which turns into bad luck and results in a wonderful life
15 July 2006
I thought that this movie was simply one thing, and that is that it's excellent. Even though some critics have called it awful I say don't listen to them. I have yet to see a critic make me laugh for about an hour and a half. Lindsay Lohan does an actually superb job as the girl who starts out having all the best luck in the world and then turns around to have the worst luck in the world(which is in a manner of speaking of course). The movie itself does one of the best things in the world which is that it conveys the message that as long as you have people around you who love and care about you, materialism just is not important. The movie itself is a wonderful message for anyone out there between the ages of 16 and 100 that if you just hang in long enough and don't give up that life will eventually work out just fine. There is also a scene with the washing machine that I thought was simply classic. Lindsay Lohan is a very smart and talented young actress who has been taking good roles since she got started with Freaky Friday and then Mean Girls which are also 2 other good movies for kids. I hope to see her in future comedies, she does a great job!
